Chapter 228
Joyce returned home Sunday evening with Pizza. She tried to comfort Dawn over her break-up with Conner. Dawn was a bit suprised at how good a liar she was becoming. She couln't hide the fact that she was very upset, but her mother mistook it for a typical teenage break-up. The three Summers women watched the return of "On her own." Normally Joyce and Dawn disagreed about Rebecca Lowell's character "Teri." Dawn didn't like her, didn't really understand why she won the Emmy. Maybe it was a geeration thing, Joyce liked Teri, Buffy and Dawn preferred her daughter Bianca. Tonight Dawn said nothing, afraid if she and her mother discussed this Dawn might say something in anger that she would regret. Over the weekend Dawn had been kidnapped by her boyfriend, and been rescued from a vampire cave by the sister she usually didn't get along with. And she'd returned to normal in time to watch her favorite show. So this was what it was like to be a potential vampire slayer.
