Chapter 229
Gunn returned to Anne's shelter Sunday evening. Based on what Giles said Darla was now free, not good. Drusilla was nowhere to be seen. This sounded good but who knew what Spike might do with his anger and frustration. When Gunn got back Conner was there with his bag, talking to Anne.
Gunn: Anne, I should probably tell you what this kid has done. He kidnapped his 14 year old girlfriend to help free a vampire.
Gunn: I'm sorry, but this vampire is my mother. I couldn't let her stay trapped.
Anne: You shouldn't have done that Conner. But I won't turn you away.
Gunn: You're letting him stay?
Anne: Yes Charles, I am. And just to remind you both that Lorne's friends put that spell on this place to prevent violence of any kind here. I can't stop you two from killing each other outside this sanctuary, I'd prefer you didn't.
Gunn: I don't like this.
Anne: Do either of you have somewhere else to stay?
Conner: No.
Gunn: I can talk to my Imam tomorrow.
Anne: Fair enough. Until then I'll put you two in different areas. You'll both have an easier time of it if you at least try to get along.
