Dawn had been so wrapped up in her relationship with Conner these last few weeks that she'd practically ignored Carlos and Kit. Dawn tried to reconnect with them after her "break-up." She hadn't even realized that Kit and Carlos were now a couple. As the three of them had lunch together, trying to reconnect, Dawn noticed something else she probably should've noticed before. Althought it was January it was still California, not exactly long-sleeve weather. Dawn noticed Kit wearing long-sleeves, she seemed to be careful not to put the sleeves down. Dawn saw briefly below the sleeves, she saw the bruises on Kit's arms. Kit tried to hide this, but Dawn realized that she usually wore sunglasses, despite the school's rules against this. Kit and Carlos had been Dawn's best friends not so long ago. Now it seemed one of them was being pysically abused, possibly by the other. Dawn felt guilty, she should've been there for Kit.
