Chapter 248
Darla was resting in Spike's crypt. He still hadn't returned so until he kicked her out she would stay here. Conner visited her almost every day with fresh blodd and they talked. Darla was grateful to her son for this. She loved Conner, more than a demon like herself should be capable of. Darla had heard of vampires turning, outright killing, or sparing their children after being turned. But a vampire being pregnant was un-explored territory. Darla still didn't know how exactlty two vampires could concieve a child, but they did. She heard something, at first she thought it was her son. But no, it was Angel.
Darla: Angelus?
Angel: It's Angel now.
Darla: Well, what's in a name? I take it you're here about Conner.
Angel: I don't want our son involved in all of this.
Darla: Neither did I. But he made the choice to save me. Besides, he deserves to know the truth about his heritage. And I am still too weak to move around. I need Conner.
Angel: I will bring you fresh blood, even human blood. When I heard about your skeleton, I was a bit suprised. I thought you might've staked yourself before succuming. But I guess you always were a survivor.
Darla: Always. Holts probably still thinks it was his idea to trap me there instead of killing me outright. Why don't you join us? If you're really one of the good guys now, and I'm allegedly a bad influence, why don't you help steer Conner in the right direction.
Angel: I wanted him to have a normal life, free of vampires.
Darla: It's a little late for that. And, once again, he chose this over a normal life.
Angel: What makes me angry about your statement, is that you're right. What time is dinner?
