Chapter 252
When Buffy woke up she was chained to the wall. Kit and Carlos were tied up next to her. Dawn was nowhere to be seen. Whether that meant she had escaped, or been killed already, Buffy didn't know. Some of the men in hoods Buffy recognized. Tom Warner, who'd somehow escaped the police. She regognized Billy from the news. He was the son of a congressman, got arrested for allegedly beating a prostitute nearly to death. And there was Mr Trick. Trick seemed to be supervising Warner and the others. They kept chanting "Machida." It seemed that Tom Warner and the vampire were up to their old tricks. Whatever Machida was Buffy, Carlos, and Kit were being sacrificed to it. Buffy tried telling herself these chains were made from some enchanted metal, to make herself feel better. At any rate there seemed little hope for them.
