A/N: Hello people… I'm n3wgu4rdi4n. Ryuu is having issues with writing so I'm here to help move the story along. Since no one wants to give an evil OC, I'm here to change that. Next chapter of Lee will be up soon, not sure when but I'm unpredictable. It could be tomorrow or in a month, who knows.
Ashuri: Ryuu has been moving for the past week and a half and while in the process of moving he sliced his hand.
n3wgu4rdi4n: No more jerking it for him.
Ashuri: Shut up. That's not funny… *sarcasm* So anywa-
N3wgu4rdi4n: Yes the hell it is. Read review. yadda yadda..
Ashuri: Really? Gonna steal my words. Asshole.
n3wgu4rdin: You're goddamn right. Now the story.
"Meow… meow…" the soft mewling reached the ears of a growing Totodile. "Ugh…" He sat up from his hay bed. The mewling came from the other side of his front door. "Coming!" he yelled in a groggy voice and sat up. He walked over to his wash bin and splashed his face with the cool water. "Ahhh… feels good. Whew… today is the day." he said to his reflection. He grabbed his necklace, a broken piece of everstone on a string, and put it around his neck. He opened the door of his home.
"Morning!" A Skitty and Pikachu greeted him in union.
"Morning!" His already big smile grew wider.
"You ready Lee?" The Pikachu asked.
"You know it Riot." Lee grabbed his green bag next to his door. Lee noticed the skitty was looking at him deeply. "What's up Nights? Something in my teeth?"
"You got taller again…" The Skitty said.
"What? Not again…" lee said mocking the small cat Pokemon.
"Yeah man, you did. You're taller than a Croconaw now man. When you gonna evolve?" Riot said.
"Never. I don't wanna, but to hell with my height. Where are your guys bag?"
"Oh!" Riot jumped and turned around, "Right here." He was carrying a blue and pink bag.
"I like your pink bag Nights"
"No!" Riot jumped back around. "Pink is mine!" There was a glistening shine to his eyes. Lee pinched the space between his eyes and shook his head.
"Whatever. You guys are ready though? It's gonna be a loooong day."
"Of course! We've been marking our calendars. Today is the day we climb Mount Mistral!" Riot pointed over to the looming mountain in the distance.
"YEAH!" They all shouted in union and took off towards it. Not stopping for anything, they managed to reach the base of the mountain before the end of morning.
"It's much bigger up close huh guys?" Riot spoke.
"Yeah…" Nights voice was low. She was a very timid Pokemon. Lee patted her head
"We got this." Lee gave his little words of encouragement and they went into the looming darkness of the mountain. The inside looked bigger than the outside. Soft glowing stones filled their path.
"Wow! So pretty!" Nights stopped to look at a big purple gem.
"Yeah… beautiful." Riot stopped along with her but had his gaze on Nights when he said that.
Lee knew of Riots unsaid feelings, that was part of the reason Riot suggested the idea of climbing Mount Mistral. He heard of a rumor that Ho-oh was on top of this mountain in particular. Legend was that whoever saw the mystical Pokemon would be granted eternal happiness. Riot told Lee that that was when he would confess to Nights.
Lee clapped his hands around both of their shoulders. "Come on guys, I want to see the sunset from the top of this mountain.
"Yeah! Me too, I bet it will be even prettier than all of the gems in this cave put together!" Nights said eagerly. Riot just nodded his head in response.
"Lets get going" Lee said leading them past the entrance of the cave.
Sadly none of them knew what really laid in wait. The base of the mountain went off without a hitch. Not a single Pokemon in sight. Then nothing, no Pokemon was seen on the second level, nor the third. It wasn't until the fourth straight level in a row, that no Pokemon showed, Lee stopped.
"What's wrong Lee? Getting cold feet or something?" Riot said still walking.
"Riot stop for a second… Something really isn't right."
"What? Are you feeling sick? Hungry? I got some berries in my bag if you want something."
"No… It's not that. Haven't you noticed that we haven't came across a single Pokemon? For at least a few hours, nothing or no one. Absolutely nothing. It's not right I swear."
"Really? I thought it's only been a few minutes." Lee gave him a sour look. "Okay okay… Yeah I noticed. But I thought it was like migrating season or something."
"It's the middle of Spring! If anything it should be packed with Pokemon!"
"Yeah? Well maybe it's luck or something… I don't know but it's not stopping me from reaching the top of this mountain."
"Of course not but I'm just saying to be on your guard at least man. I got a bad feeling about this, I really do."
Nights spoke up "It's okay Lee. We'll be fine, plus Riot has super effective moves against most of the Pokemon that are usually here so…" With that said she pranced ahead of Lee.
"Still guys… Be careful…"
Lee had been exploring long before the three had formed a small exploration team, even longer than before he meet them. He wanted to just forget about watching the sunset or watching the look on Nights face when she would hear Riots confession. His instincts were telling him to high tail it out of there. Yet he continued on with his friends. He didn't say anymore and just followed them.
More levels came and went without any encounters. Every passing level Lee got more uneasy and paranoid. It wasn't until they were a little passed the halfway point of the mountain that Lee stopped again and decided to speak up.
"Guys… I think we should turn back" Lee was gasping for air.
"You're tired already? We can rest for a bit if you want Lee. I don't think we'll be attacked or anything. I think the mountain may be deserted."
"I'm not tired… I have a really bad feeling that we shouldn't have came here today. Everything feels off and out of place."
"Quit that Lee… You're gonna get me scared…" Nights said quietly.
"Yeah man, enough with that crap. I'm telling you that the mountain has to be empty."
"Thats the point! If a whole mountain is empty, what the fuck do you think made it empty!?"
"We've been getting a couple of earthquakes lately… maybe th-"
"Bullshit and you know it." Lee was breathing faster. "We've have had more and bigger quakes than the ones we've been getting and that never stopped Pokemon from inhabiting this place. I really do think we should stop and come back another day."
"Lee…" Nights voice was barely noticeable. He looked at her and saw the fear in her eyes.
"I-I'm sorry… I-I didn't mean to scare you. But you can't tell me that you don't feel the same way. You were always better at sensing danger."
"But Lee… I'm not feeling anything. I feel safe and secure here with the both of you."
Lee gave a sigh and Riot looked at him. "Everything will be fine Lee. Lets continued on man." Lee looked down and swallowed the nervousness. "Fine. Lets go." Lee said and rushed on ahead with them following close behind. If he couldn't convince them to go back, The next best thing was to get them through it as quickly as he could. The last stretch was the same.
Not a single Pokemon in sight.
