Ashuri: Hey guys sorry about not uploading for a while but we didn't want to post another author's note because we have too many as it is. I hope you guys aren't mad at us for not posting a new chapter. We do not own Pokemon. Although I wish we did.
I sat in a hospital room with my hand clasped around my mother's left hand. She was sleeping peacefully, or at least as peacefully as anyone possibly could be with needles in her arm, machines buzzing and beeping around her head, and a machine breathing for her.
There was a gentle knock on the door. I turned toward the door and the doctor that had been taking care of my mother the whole time she has been here. Which has been about 3 weeks now. He was about 6 feet tall, his short gray hair was starting to bald, and his gray blue eyes were focused on the clipboard in his hands. There was something wrong since he wouldn't look at me. Every other time I had been here when he would come in to take care of my mother he would look me in the eyes and talk to me about school or work to keep my mind off of my mother even though she was laying in front of me.
His eyes finally shifted to meet my eyes but only for a second then his eyes landed on my mother. He cleared his throat as he started to walk towards me. "I'm sorry to have to have to inform you of this, but your mother's condition is continuing to get worse. The treatments we tried only helped temporarily. We fear that she won't be alive much longer." His face looked pained as he said this but I couldn't focus on anything around me.
My mother is going to die and the doctors couldn't help her anymore than they have already. I pretty much gave up school, except the one class that had him in it. I had to work to keep myself fed and try to save up to try to help with my mother's hospital bill. Tears started to form in the corner of my eyes, I tried to blink them away but I couldn't as the tears started to overflow. My mother was all the family I had left, the only family that cared for me. Ever since dad left with my brother when I was young she had started smoking, which was the reason was the reason as to why she was laying in this hospital bed and not at home.
My grip tightened on her hand as I cried. The pain that was going through me was unbearable, it felt like part of me was being ripped out of me just from hearing the likeliness of my mother's death. That night I slept silently beside my mother until I was woken up by a loud beeping noise and the doctor prying my hand from my mothers.
Then there was nothing. I opened my eyes and was in a pure white room. I felt like I had been here before but I couldn't remember if I had. A pink cat-like creature appeared in front of me. It's big blue eyes looked me over, making sure that I was fine. It was floating above the ground with its long pink tail swishing behind it. I stood up just then noticing I had two legs instead of four. I looked down at my hands which used to be rough and dry but were now all wrinkly.
I looked up at the creature. "Who are you? Why am I here? What's wrong with my body?" The voice that came out of my mouth couldn't be my voice. I didn't have the voice of an old woman. The creature's face softened. "You don't remember, do you?" It giggled at my confused expression. I have been here before? "I'm Mew. One of the hundreds of Pokemon that exist." I sighed, so this whole Pokemon thing wasn't just a nightmare gone wrong.
Mew giggled even more and started to circle me slowly. "What are your fears?" Mew stopped in front of me smiling. "You don't have to answer that. You'll find out the question soon I hope." I stared at Mew blankly. "But why am I here? What happened to my body?" Mew giggled again. "Well you have been 'called' here by the Pokemon who is considered the 'God' of all Pokemon. Its not like I wanted to bring you back here. He ordered us to."
I stared at Mew confused. She said us, who is us? "Why was I called here then?" Mew giggled for a second then disappeared. I looked around confused, "Mew? Where did you go? Mew?" Mew reappeared in front of me with a frown on her face. "Sorry. I had to got talk to him about something." I frowned, Mew was upset about something but what is she upset about? "What was you last question? Why were you called here?", I nodded, "He wanted you to be informed about there being another one like you?"
I stared at her dumbfounded, "Another one like me? A human that's a Pokemon?" Mew giggled at my expression, "Yup! Exactly! I don't think I can call you back here with your body aging like this anymore. Soon it'll disappear." Mew's smile turned into a frown when she finished saying that. "Tell me where the other one is then!", I demanded. "I can't. you have to find each other.", Mew stated as if it was obvious. I sighed out of frustration.
I have to find another human that's a Pokemon like me? How do I figure out that that one specific Pokemon is a human? "But I can show you who it is. I just can't tell you where your partner is." Mew's eyes started to glow and something like lasers came out of her eyes. The 'lasers' formed an image in front of her. There was an orange lizard with a yellow belly that extends to the underside of its tail. Its tail had fire burning on the tip of it. It had green blue eyes.
Mew blinked and the image disappeared. "There you've seen your partner. Melody you've been here too long. Mew smiled and giggled a little when she said that. I looked down and noticed that I was a Pokemon again. "Bye Melody! See you around!" Mew disappeared from in front of me. I looked around me as the walls started to crack as if they were made of glass. The walls shattered around me, disappearing before the pieces could touch the ground.
I was standing back in the hospital room as a Pokemon this time. I was watching my old human self run out of the room. I sighed, I always let my emotions take over and control me. I didn't even say bye to my mother. I jumped up onto the bed and put my paw on her hand. I could feel he tears coming but this time I could blink them away. "Bye mother. I miss you. But when I'm feeling sad I'll think of your smiling face through the pain. Bye mother. I've always loved you." I jumped off of the bed finally letting the tears flow freely as I walked out of the room without looking back.
Through the door was nothing but darkness. I couldn't see anything. I ran towards the right which eventually lead me to and Exit sign that was glowing red above the door. I pushed open the door and left the place.
I opened my eyes slowly and looked around me. I was curled up on a pile of leaves in the corner of the room. There was a bed that only was a few inches off of the ground. The posts were made of wood and the mattress portion was leaves. Miku was laying on top of it, he was fast asleep. I stood up and walked over to where he was. He was sleeping peacefully. "Melody! You're finally awake!" I turned towards the doorway and saw the Bellsprout standing in the doorway. I smiled a little, they were still okay.
Ashuri: Hope you guys liked it! I'm really sorry about not updating sooner! But we are still accepting OC's. Read and review. It helps.
