Guys, I am so so sorry. You probably all think that I abandoned this story but I haven't! I have no excuse for not updating in five months, I just lost motivation. But I'm back for good now! I don't know when chapter seven will be ready due to a tight schedule, but I promise I am working on it! Thanks for staying faithful. I love you all. PS more reviews= more updates! :)

Once they had returned to the hotel, the Doctor paid for a few more days stay and ran off somewhere, returning with a laptop in hand.

Rose now laid on the top of the bed back in the hotel room, her legs dangling off the edge of the bed. Her chin was propped up by her hands as she stared at the laptop screen in front of her face. The Doctor sat next to her, scrolling through pages online about mermaids and Mako island on the supposedly "borrowed" laptop he'd managed to acquire.

Rose sighed. "This is really upsetting," she commented.

The Doctor lifted an eyebrow. "It's only a laptop," he said, confused.

Rose rolled her eyes. "No, this whole mermaid thing! How am I supposed to bathe when every time I get wet I turn into a fish?"

The Doctor chuckled in reply. "Ah, women and their appearances."

She scoffed. "Bathing is important! Do you wanna have to smell a person who doesn't shower?"

The Doctor's nose crinkled. "Touché. I once spent a week in a medieval town. It was horrid! People only bathed once a month. I think I lost the ability to smell for a while after that."

Rose laughed. "See? Very important."

"Well, I guess you'll just have to take a bath then. With a tail. Can't be that difficult, eh?"

She shrugged. "Well, while you're researching on your "borrowed" laptop, I'll go try that out."

He just nodded and continued to scroll and click.

Rose hopped off the bed and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. She carefully turned the water on in the bathtub, making carefully sure not to get her hands wet. As she waited for it to fill, she laid towels all across the tile floor and placed the hair dryer on the edge of the sink, for easy reaching.

When her bath was ready, she stripped of her now two-day old clothing and lowered herself in the tub carefully. In just moments, she watched the pink flesh of her legs dissolve into water, then rematerialise as an orange, scaly tail. The transformation still facsinated her. As her tail was a bit longer than her normal legs, she had to scrunch a bit for her tail to fit in the tub, but she was able to clean herself somewhat.

Rose pulled the plug of the tub once finished bathing and let the water spiral down the drain. After much struggling, she managed to pull herself and her tail over the side of the tub, landing with a large thunk on the tile floor. Centimetre by centimetre, she dragged herself along the floor until she was able to reach the cord of the hair dryer. She tugged on it and it fell to the floor with a loud clatter.

A moment later she heard a knock on the door. "Everything alright in there?" came the Doctor's muffled voice.

"Yeah," she called back. "Just dropped the hair dryer."

"You need any help?" he asked.

"No, thanks, I've got it!"

Rose turned over the fallen hair dryer to see that the plug had come undone when she pulled it down. She cursed under her breath. She couldn't reach the outlet way up high and she was too embarrassed to ask the Doctor to dry her again. How was she gonna dry herself now?

Rose suddenly had an idea. She remembered the girls showing her their powers back at the moon pool. If she had powers like Rikki, maybe she could dry herself. Might as well try.

Rolling over so that she sat upright against the little cupboard under the sink, she stretched out her hand and twisted her fingers around similar to how they had shown her. Nothing happened. She tried harder this time, concentrating deeply. She squeezed her eyes shut and really thought hard about it.

She opened her eyes to see bright golden light emanating from her fingertips. That's odd, she didn't remember the girls' hands lighting up... She felt a cold sensation go across the scales on her tail, and looked down to see ice coating it. With a yelp, she jerked her hands towards her tail and instantly the ice began to melt. Soon, her scales were sizzling like a fish in a frying pan. She stopped whatever she was doing with her hands and watched the water vapour slowly spiral upwards. She raised her hand and twisted it around, finding that she could create shapes in the steam. Then it rose up and disappeared into the vent on the ceiling.

Rose chuckled to herself. She seemed to have all the girls' powers. She thought that was pretty awesome. She continued to run her hands over her tail until she was completely steam dried. Once her legs were back and in use, she stood shakily and grabbed a fluffy white bathrobe that was hanging up on the door. She put it on and grabbed her dirty clothes, exiting the bathroom.

The Doctor looked up from the laptop as Rose entered the room. "Took you quite a bit, but looks like you managed it."

Rose smiled with her tongue poking out. "I'm quite proud. And come here, I wanna show you something," she exclaimed giddily.

The Doctor raised a comfused eyebrow but followed her into the bathroom anyway.

She closed the drain in the sink and then filled it nearly full with water. "Watch this," she to.d him.

Rose stretched her hand out towards the water. Golden light radiated from her hands, and it also filled her eyes, looking suspiciously familiar to regeneration energy. The Doctor watched, concerened, as Rose twisted her hand around in various formations. As she did, the water slowly began to rise in a wobbly, twisted column out of the sink. Although it spiralled higher and higher, the water in the sink remained the same level as if nothing was being removed from it. The Doctor feared the tower would topple and wet the both of them, but slowly, from the top down it began to freeze into solid ice. Both the tower and the water in the sink were frozen solid.

The Doctor turned to look at Rose. It frightened him how she glowed all golden. It looked too much like the Bad Wolf, whatever allowed her to have this power couldn't be good for her. The light faded away and she looked at him, grinning like crazy.

"Isn't it mad?" she asked.

He didn't reply.

"Now watch this," she told him.

She turned back to her frozen creation and the golden light consumed her once again. The ice began to melt, but instead of making a giant puddle, it simply evaporated into steam. As the steam went upward, it formed into random shapes. First just simple spirals, then wpthere were little steam Daleks and Cybermen, and even a little steamy TARDIS. The one that frightened him the most was one shaped like a wolf, howling at the sky.

Once all the steam disappeared into the ventilation shaft, Rose turned to the Doctor again. "Wasn't that amazing, Doctor?"

"Rose..." he said.

Rose raised her dark eyebrows. "What is it, Doctor?"

"Well, it's just, your powers scare me. It's not, well, natural," he explained.

Rose furrowed her brow. "But the other girls have powers, too!"

"Yes," he argued, "but they only have one each, and none of them glow, either. You're exteremely powerful, Rose. This kind of power could be dangerous."

She huffed. "I like it, it's cool. And there's nothing you can do about it until we can get the TARDIS back."

"You're right," he said. "So how about tomorrow we go back to Mako and meet up with the mermaids, and then check for the TARDIS?"

Rose nodded. "Sure. But tonight, we're going shopping. I haven't a thing to wear!"

The Doctor chuckled. "Alright. Shopping, and then perhaps dinner?"

She smiled. "Sounds like a date!"
