A/N: I'm so sorry to keep abandoning you like this. I can't believe it's been a year since I published chapter 1! Thanks to all of you who've stuck with this story faithfully and I can't thank you enough for all the positive reviews and favorites/follows. This is hopefully my last huge hiatus; I plan on being consistent from now on. (This is kind of a transition/filler chapter.)

A wonderful smell greeted Rose's nose as she awoke. She lazily opened one eye to see a blurry image of what seemed to be a trolley covered in silver, covered dishes next to the bed. Looking further up, she saw a fuzzy brown head.

Rose rubbed the sleep from her eyes and focused them to find that it indeed was a trolley covered in silver platters, and the Doctor was leaned over it, grinning.

"Morning, Rose!" he exclaimed when she sat up.

Rose, in her new, baby blue pyjamas, sat up and stretched.

"Morning, Doctor," she mumbled through a yawn. "What's all this?" she asked, waving her hand over the trolley.

"This," he told her, while grabbing the handle of a dish cover, "is breakfast!"

And with one fluid motion he removed the cover from the dish to reveal a big plate of bacon. Underneath the others were scrambled eggs, buttered toast, and banana pancakes. To the side were two glasses and a pitcher of orange juice.

Rose grinned widely. "How sweet, Doctor! It looks delicious."

The Doctor seated himself next to Rose on the edge of the bed. That and the trolley served as a decent makeshift table and chairs. They both loaded their plates with food, the Doctor stacking three banana pancakes on his plate. Rose served herself only one pancake. She reached for the syrup but then paused. Stretching her hand out, she twisted her fingers around and the same familiar light emanated from her. The syrup began to creep out of the jar in a slow, snake-like fashion. The tendril of syrup spiralled over her pancake, drifting downwards in a funnel fashion until landing upon the surface of the sweet, thin, banana covered cake.

"Did you see that?" she asked the Doctor excitedly.

He just nodded and continued to shovel eggs into his mouth. It really made him uncomfortable when she used her powers. It worried him deeply.

Now Rose had her hand aimed towards the pitcher of orange juice and the glasses. A tidal wave of orange liquid came surging from the pitcher and funneled neatly into her glass. She turned towards the Doctor. "Would you like me to fill yours, too?"

He smiled and shook his head. "No thanks, I think I can manage."

With that, the Doctor reached across the trolley and grabbed the pitcher of juice, pouring it into his cup manually.

Rose began to eat her breakfast. "So what's the plan today?" she asked while stabbing a piece of pancake.

"Well, I guess we'll have a visit with the mermaids and then look for the TARDIS. Again." He sighed.

Rose giggled. "Regular routines and being stationary really aren't your thing, are they?"

"Give me chaos any day; regular life is boring," he told her after taking a sip of juice.

"It's not completely regular life, I mean after all I'm a mermaid. That's hardly regular."

"True..." Finishing the last of his breakfast, the Doctor stood and brushed the toast crumbs off of his trousers. "I'll go clean up, you finish your breakfast."

"M'kay," Rose mumbled through a mouthful of toast.

Rose finished her breakfast then quickly got ready. Once both of them were dressed and cleaned up, they headed out, ready to face another day.
