He ran. As fast as his feet would take him, he ran.
Not even a second he'd waste, for the clock was ticking furiously.
He reached the haveli, and straight away went to her room.
He knew everyone would be there already, after all, Maa's awakening was something that put everyone in an awakened state, be it whatever time. Be it the night or the day.
He slammed open her door, and saw his father kissing his mother's hand. It seemed as if his father was aware a miracle was taking place.
As soon as he met his mother's eyes, he saw a myriad of emotions travelling in them. But as always, he heard the same corrosive taunt come through her mouth.
"Rannvijay… Yeh yahaan kyun hai?"She asked his father.
His father didn't seem to have any energy left inside him, and decided it was best if they finally had a face to face, heart to heart conversation.
Who knew this might be the only time they really could have it.
"Maa…" Reyaansh didn't know from which crevice inside his shattered body the voice came.
He saw Maya flinch. He saw her turn her head away. But he also saw a tear escape.
"You need to leave, Reyaansh." She uttered.
"Kyuun?"
