He moved inside the bubble. Wander weaped for minutes, the water works not easing up.
"All those people..." he said, looking down at the planet. "We should have stayed down there and helped, but we panicked..." He paused. "There were just far too many soldiers..."
Wander put his right hand on the bubble. "Now there is no 'We.'"
A little stream of tears ran down his face. Wander stared at the engulfed planet and he could have swore that he heard screaming, but that wasn't possible since he was in space.
For several hours, Wander remained in a fetal position crying and wishing for a miracle. He imagined Sylvia coming up from the atmosphere below and joining him. From there, they would try to figure out a plan to help all of those innocent people. Hater would be then stopped and then the planet would have been saved. But deep down, he knew that he couldn't do it all alone and that there were far too many soldiers that were invading and causing havoc.
The chin hairs on his chin were jagged and not good looking. Meanwhile, his pupils were surrounded by little red lines that were cutting through the whiteness. Wander coughed and cleared his throat, trying to breathe. His head ached and throbbed whenever he moved it.
Wander sighed.
He remained confined inside the bubble, thinking about the whole situation. He laughed hysterically for a minute or two in his position. He rocked back and forth; ignoring the pain; looking around and then looked at his knees. It didn't matter if it was left or right, nothing. No one. The planet that was once present below the clear transporter had vanished. Wander must have moved and caused the bubble to steer out of the planet's orbit. After all, he had just spent hours mourning over his best friend and never noticed.
The cold, dark and empty infinity absorbed in his tiny pupils. Stars and beautiful cosmic energies were being displayed thanks to the Creator. It looked like a dark beauty wore glistening diamonds all over. As astonishing as it looked, it was interrupted as Wander's eyelids closed shut once again. This time, they failed to reopen. His breathing continued and his body suddenly grew cold.
Where was he going?
