Chapter Twenty-Seven:

CPOV:

I am so excited for today I am taking Ana out on The Grace. I am introducing her into my life, which means showing her all the things I love the most. Sailing is one place I am at peace with my demons. I pick her up from her apartment at ten and I am shocked when I see Anthony in her bed with her.

"What is he doing here." I yell she can't be cheating on me, my heart couldn't take it. She opens up and stretches while laughing.

"I hope you are not insinuating that I cheated on you last night with my gay best friend." She climbs over him out of bed and gets up on her tip toes and gives me a kiss on the lips.

"Right I forgot. Now get dressed we have to get going."

"Yes Sir. What should I wear?" She says sarcastically giving me a military salute.

"Something warm and comfortable." I say with a smile

She puts on a pair of J Brand jeans, a cowl-neck sweater and he favourite pair of converse. Note to self buy her every pair of converse in every colour. I have more than enough money to give her everything she wants. I just wish she would let me give her everything. She is very modest and I think that is one of the reasons I love her so much.

There you go again Grey you're in love. Shut the fuck up I'm getting tired of your shit. She goes into the washroom and pulls her hair into a high pony tail and says she's ready to go. I've told Taylor to drive us to the marina, but he doesn't need to come aboard with us. I don't think that we will be in too much danger out at sea.

We pull into Elliot Bay marina and I try to think back if I told Ana that I often sail. I don't this I have, which means it is more of a surprise. As Taylor parks the car Ana asks

"So Mr. Money Bags whats the big surprise?"

"I see I have a new nickname." I say with a bit of a chuckle. "You will find out soon enough, but first we must eat." I take her hand and lead her to one of my favourite restaurants.

"I've heard Palisade has some of the best food in Seattle, but I've never made the effort to come down here to eat."

"It is one of the bests." I say with a smile as I open the door for her.

"Christian how nice to see you." The owner says while giving me a big hug.

"It's been too long Sam. I would like to introduce you to my girlfriend Anastasia." Ana goes to shake his hand, but he bring her in for a hug.

"I am so happy to finally meet the girl who has stolen Christian's heart." She blushes and replies.

"He's a great man it is lovely to meet you."

"Wonderful girl Christian would you like your usual table?"

"Yes please." I wrap my arm around Ana's wait and follow Sam to our table.

He takes our drink orders a cranberry and soda with three limes in it and some orange juice for me. It is before twelve so no wine for us.

The waiter brings us our drinks and asks "Are you ready to order?" I look to Ana for reassurance then order the poached pear salad to start then the apple wood smoked prime rib sandwich.

"How about you?" He turns his attention to Anastasia. I'd know that look anywhere he is lost in Ana's blue eyes. It happens every time I guy notices Ana even a couple of girls we've encountered.

"I will have the tangerine salad to start and for my main course the fish and chips thank you." She hands him our menus and he tumbles walking to the kitchen and I can't help but laugh.

"Ana you say I have girls falling all over me."

"What are you talking about?" She is so innocent.

"That guy fell down because of you."

"No he didn't he just tripped."

"Yeah sure." She gives me a dirty look and I know I should stop.

"So how it the book deal going?" I ask to change the subject and I am lost in her eyes. When she is happy that sparkle in her eye is so much brighter. I love the way she speaks when she is really passionate about something and she is more than excited to be publishing not one, but two books her first year out of college. Things are looking better for the both of us I will see to it that the sparkle in her eyes never fade.

"It's great Living with Mental Illness will be out by the first of November and It's a Constant Battle should be out around Christmas time."

"I am so proud of you I'm going to make sure I buy the first copy printed."

"You don't need to buy it Christian you own the company and are dating the author I think you can get it for free."

"I feel I should buy the book because you wrote it. You worked hard and it is going to be worth every penny. I also plan on buying copies for all our friends and loved ones. Hey maybe I'll even buy a copy for all the people who were ever mean to you so it can be a big fuck you to them."

"Slow down their big boy I don't think you'll be able to find every person who has been mean or rude to me and send me a copy of my soon to be published book."

"You'd be surprised what I can find out." I say with a grin on my face. I love these types of arguments we are able to express ourselves while having fun at the same time.

"Oh right your crazy stalking tendencies I'd almost forgotten. Have you discussed these issues with Flynn?" She says with her will he get the joke smile.

"He knows very well." Our starters are placed in front of us, which are magnificent. When we are done with out starters and the waiter comes o clear our plates Ana orders me another orange juice and some water and another cranberry and soda for her.

"How did you know I wanted water."

"Because I know you Christian." She does know me better than anyone we've spent so much time together in the short while we've known each other.

"I know that if you ever have two glasses of orange juice you always drink a glass of water with the second."

"How observant of you I haven't even noticed that."

"Well I have eidetic memory so it is very easy for me to remember things." You learn something new everyday.

"That really interesting."

"I can remember the most random things that I read."

"Care to share?" I ask genuinely interested.

"Well you know the children's story the very hungry caterpillar?"

"Yes it was one of my favourites as a child."

"Well I remember he ate through a piece of chocolate cake, and ice cream cone, a pickle, Swiss cheese, salami, a lollipop, a piece of pie, a sausage, a muffin and a slice of watermelon."

"That's amazing."

"Thank you." She says and smiles, while the waiter brings our drinks and main courses.

We eat and continue to discuss random things she remembers from reading. Conversation between us flows so easily.

"Would you guys like some dessert."

"I'm good how about you Christian?"

"No I am fine we must get going anyways. Just bring us the check please."

"Right away, sir." I pay the bill and we head to the lot that The Grace is parked.

As a reach out my hand to Anastasia to help her onto the boat I hear a loud bang and everything goes black.

Ana's POV:

This has been on of the best day's I've spent with Christian I am so happy. He steps on the The Grace and extends his hand to help me on when a loud noise knocks me back. I fall to the ground and hit my head. Fuck that hurt. My survival training kicks in and the first thing I do is asses the situation. From the ringing in my ear I assume there was some type of explosion. I look at The Grace and I notice that the first part of the boat has been destroyed and it is now sinking.

Holy shit where's Christian? The blood drains from my body where is he? I slip off my shoes and jump into the water. There is so much debris in the water I can't see anything. I come back up for air and I hear sirens and people screaming. Adrenaline is coursing through my body. I go back under and I see him. I swim as fast as I can and get to him. I grab him and start swimming to the surface pushing planks of wood out-of-the-way. When we reach the surface I see the person who must have been the captain struggling to swim.

"Are you alright miss?" He shouts at me

"Yes I'm fine are you?"

"Just a little dizzy there is stairs right over there." He points towards a set of stairs.

"Thank you."

I am already exhausted from treading water and the adrenaline, but I use every ounce of strength I have to take Christian out of the water and place him on the dock. I check to make sure he is breathing and feels a huge surge of relief when he is. I see Taylor running towards us with the EMT. When they reach us EMT's start to asses Christian.

They pull me away to check me over. They say that I might have a concussion, but wan to do more test at the hospital. Christian and I are taken to the hospital in different ambulances. No one will tell me what's going on with Christian and I am freaking out. He can't die I can't live without him he's the love of my life.

Holy shit he is the love of my life.

What if I never get the chance to tell him that I love him. All of a sudden everything goes black.

They are both finally admitting they love each other.
