The next day in New York...
Adrian finished her history final and she walked out of class and she got a text from Ricky.
"What the? Oh no..." Adrian said quietly to herself as she read Ricky's text.
"Hey Adrian...How was your final?" Ben said nicely as he walked by her.
"Oh...Hey Ben...It was pretty easy. How was yours?" Adrian said kindly.
"It was chemistry so...it was pretty hard but I think I passed it...Is there something going on?" Ben said concerned.
"Um...I'm not sure...Ricky texted me that Grace has been taking...birth control pills again..." Adrian said seriously.
"Really? Are they sleeping together?" Ben said surprised.
"I don't know...I gotta go to the store so I'll see you later." Adrian said worried as she walked towards a parking lot.
Ben walked towards the cafeteria to get lunch. After Adrian got in her car, she called Grace.
"Hey Adrian...I'm studying for my anatomy final that's tomorrow...Did you need something?" Grace said a little irritated.
"You're on the pill again?" Adrian said sternly.
"Uh...Who told you that?" Grace said shocked.
"Ricky texted me earlier...Why are you on it?" Adrian said firmly.
"I gotta go...Bye..." Grace said annoyed and she hung up.
"Screw it...I'll just talk to her about it on Friday..." Adrian said angrily as she started her car and drove out of the parking lot.
After Ben got his lunch and sat down Amy sat next to him.
"Hey...I was wondering where you were..." Ben said smiling.
"Yeah...My English final took forever...We had to write an essay...How was your chemistry one?" Amy said nicely.
"It was ok...I hate finals...They're so difficult..." Ben said a little irritated.
"Me too but we have to do them..." Amy said sweetly as she took a bite of her sandwich.
"Yeah...Heh...And Adrian told me something interesting after my final..." Ben said seriously.
"What did she tell you?" Amy said intrigued.
"That Grace is on birth control pills again..." Ben said worried.
"Oh...So she is sleeping with Ricky?" Amy said concerned.
"I don't know...If she is, it's really none of our business..." Ben said honestly.
"You're right...Just like it's none of theirs when we have sex again..." Amy said sadly.
"Yeah...Are you still feeling bad about Mimsy?" Ben said sincerely.
"A little but...I'm kind of worried about the trial..." Amy said after eating some of her chips.
"Are you sure that you're not just worried about Ricky coming here on Friday?" Ben said firmly after eating some of his sandwich.
"Of course not...I'm sure everything will be fine..." Amy said kindly.
A couple hours later in California...
Ricky got of bed and he walked into the kitchen and saw Grace asleep on the table.
"Heh...I guess she got up too early to study..." Ricky said smiling as he walked over to the fridge.
"Ugh...I heard that...And I just had to close my eyes for a few minutes..." Grace said sleepily as she sat up.
"Do you want some coffee or something? That will help wake you up." Ricky said nicely as he took out some roast beef.
"No...I can stay awake...How late were you up last night?" Grace said as she rubbed her eyes.
"Until almost 3...I'm pretty tired..." Ricky said as he sat down at the table after he made a roast beef sandwich.
"Oh...And...Adrian called me earlier...You told her that I'm on birth control pills?" Grace said sternly.
"I did?" Ricky said confused as he pulled out his phone.
"She said that you texted her..." Grace said concerned.
"Oh man...I did...I must have been sleep texting..." Ricky said worried as he looked at his phone.
"Sleep texting? You've done that before?" Grace said surprised.
"No I haven't...I guess I don't remember texting her earlier cause I was so tired...I'm really sorry..." Ricky said sincerely.
"It's ok...I can talk to her when we go to New York on Friday...I need some water..." Grace said nicely as she got up and walked over to the sink.
"Yeah...Uh...You know that you don't have shorts on, right?" Ricky said awkwardly as he grinned.
"Heh...You're right...I must have forgot to put them back on after I showered this morning...I am so out of it today..." Grace said seriously as she sat at the table with a glass of water.
"Me too...Studying really drains your energy...Maybe we should go back to bed." Ricky said tiredly.
"I can't...I still have three more chapters to review...It's only eleven so I have plenty of time to review them..." Grace said sweetly.
"Oh...I need to review all my econ chapters again...We could quiz each other...Each time we answer a question right, we get a kiss." Ricky said as he smiled slowly.
"Ooooh...I like the sound of that...I'll quiz you first." Grace said as she smirked.
"All right...Heh...Just ask me all the questions from the study guide." Ricky said happily as he handed Grace his study guide packet.
Meanwhile at Grant High...
Ethan and Kathy were eating lunch.
"Our finals are in a couple weeks...Do you want to study math with me later?" Kathy said sweetly.
"Sure...I love studying with you, Kathy." Ethan said kindly.
"I love studying with you too...I'm sorry about Brian again..." Kathy said seriously.
"Don't worry about it...You don't have to apologize every time we see each other...You know that...Ricky's going to New York on Friday for his dad's trial..." Ethan said concerned.
"Thanks...I didn't know that...I hope everything goes well..." Kathy said nicely.
"Me too...He really wants his dad to get the death penalty..." Ethan said worried.
"Oh...Because he abused him right? And didn't he shoot Adrian's husband?" Kathy said honestly.
"Yeah...He's a pretty bad guy...I'm sure he'll get what he deserves..." Ethan said sternly.
"I hope so...Have you talked to Mr. Boykevich about getting a raise?" Kathy said intrigued.
"Uh...A little but I don't think he wants to give me one...I would like to buy my own car." Ethan said kindly.
"I know what you mean...I would like to get my own car too...But my grandma doesn't mind letting me use her car every once in awhile...I have been babysitting some which helps..." Kathy said sweetly.
"Yeah...Cars are just so expensive...We should make a petition to buy cars at a cheaper price." Ethan said happily.
"Ha ha...The last petition we did about algebra didn't go over so well..." Kathy said as she smiled.
"That's because no one really cares about it...A lot of people complain about things being too expensive...Especially things they need like cars...I think we could pull it off..." Ethan said seriously.
"All right...Let's make a bet...If you win, I'll give you one hundred dollars in cash...And I'll do your math homework next semester." Kathy said honestly.
"Oh wow...That sounds like a pretty good deal to me...And what do you get if you win?" Ethan said intrigued.
"Hmm...How about another shot with you?" Kathy said nicely.
"Uh...I don't know about that..." Ethan said nervously.
"Why not? Are you afraid that you'll lose?" Kathy said as she smirked.
"Of course not! You're on Kathy!" Ethan said firmly and he shook Kathy's hand.
"All right...It's a bet." Kathy said sternly and she let go of Ethan's hand.
Friday night in New York...
Grace, Ricky, Reuben, Nora, and Leo were at the airport. Ben, Amy, John, Adrian, and Omar greeted them.
"You finally made it Dad!" Adrian said happily as she gave Reuben a hug.
"Yes I did...Leo paid for our hotel and we need to check in." Reuben said kindly.
"Right...We're going to drive you there..It's nice to see you again, Reuben. Let's go." Omar said smiling and they walked out of the airport.
"Can you believe her? She completely ignored me..." Grace said a littlle irritated.
"Well...You did hang up on her the other day..." Ricky said seriously as they walked out of the air port with Ben, Amy, John, Nora, and Leo.
"Why did you hang up on Adrian?" Amy said intrigued as they got in her SUV.
"Uh...I'll tell you later..." Grace said awkwardly as she put her seat belt on.
"Did you do something bad?" Nora said concerned.
"No...It's not that important..." Grace said sweetly.
"Don't worry about it, Mom...Grace is fine." Ricky said kindly.
"So...Is everyone ready for the trial?" Leo said nicely.
"I am...I can't wait to see Bob get what he deserves. After all the pain and suffering he put me and Ricky through, I want to see him get the justice he deserves." Nora said honestly.
Fifteen minutes later Amy and Ben dropped the others off at their hotel and they checked in.
"I hope you two have a good night...I'll see you in the morning." Leo said nicely as he opened his hotel room.
"Thanks for paying for our room, Leo. Good night." Ricky said smiling as he opened his room's door and he went into it with Grace.
"Should I call Adrian?" Grace said seriously as she put her suitcase on a table.
"If you want to...I'm exhausted..." Ricky said after he yawned.
"Heh..You're cute when you're sleepy...It's only ten thirty...I'll try calling her..." Grace said kindly.
"Thanks...Ha ha...I'm going to brush my teeth and crash..." Ricky said smiling and he walked over to his suitcase to find his tooth brush and tooth paste while Grace called Adrian.
"Hey Grace...I'm sorry that I ignored you at the air port...I was really excited to see my Dad..." Adrian said sincerely.
"It's ok Adrian...Do you want to come over to my hotel and talk? They have some coffee...I need some so I don't fall asleep...Heh..." Grace said nicely.
"I'm at the hotel right now...I was talking to my Dad about the trial in his room for awhile but I'm in the lobby...Omar actually fell asleep on the couch...Heh...I was about to wake him up before you called me..." Adrian said kindly.
"Oh...That's pretty funny...Heh...I'll be down there in a minute..." Grace said happily and she hung up.
"Have fun talking to Adrian...I'm about to pass out..." Ricky said sleepily as he walked out of the bathroom.
"I will...Get some sleep Ricky...I love you." Grace said smiling.
"I love you too...Don't stay up too late...Reuben has a lot of things to go over with us tomorrow for the trial..." Ricky said seriously and he gave Grace a short kiss.
"I know..." Grace said nicely and she grabbed a card key and walked out the door.
A few minutes later Grace walked downstairs to the lobby and she sat next to Adrian on a brown couch.
"There you are..." Adrian said quietly and she gave Grace a hug.
"Omar is really asleep..." Grace said surprised as she let go of Adrian.
"Yeah...He's so funny to watch sleep...So...The birth control pills..." Adrian said sweetly and then awkwardly.
"All right...Please don't tell anyone else this but...I want my first time with Ricky to be without a condom...That's why I'm taking the pills again...I want my body to be completely used to them by the time we do it...It might not be for a long time..." Grace said honestly.
"Uh...I understand but birth control pills might not be enough to keep you from getting pregnant...That's kind of how I got pregnant...Again..." Adrian said seriously.
"I've done a lot of research, Adrian and the pills I'm taking are almost one hundred percent effective at preventing pregnancy...They're the most effective ones that you can buy...As long as we don't do anything when I take the sugar pills, we should be fine." Grace said honestly.
"I think you would be safer with a condom too but...sex is much better without it...Heh...Whatever you two decide to do, will probably be fine...But you still want to wait until marriage to sleep with Ricky?" Adrian said concerned.
"I sure hope so...And of course I still want to wait...Ricky does too...It's crazy how much he's changed...I can't believe he actually got baptized." Grace said happily.
"I'm really proud of you two for wanting to wait...I'm surprised he got baptized too but at least he did it for God...With your help...And...do you remember that one time when we were eating ice cream on the day that Ricky hugged Amy in the middle of the hall way?" Adrian said kindly.
"Thanks...I'm happy Ricky got baptized for God...Heh...Yes I do...It was that day we got into a fight about Ricky...Why?" Grace said sweetly.
"Well...I thought you should know that...Ricky did think about you when we slept together...Not every time but...I could tell that he did sometimes..." Adrian said as she smirked.
"Really? I doubt it...What does that have to do with that one time when we had ice cream?" Grace said intrigued.
"You said that Ricky probably thought about you when he slept with me...Heh...But seriously, he did talk about you sometimes after we slept together...He even saved you after he slept with me when those two guys tried to hurt you...And he asked me what being in love with you meant another time after we had sex...I told him it just meant that he wanted to have sex with you and that for you being in love meant that you wanted to marry him and have kids with him...Now it seems like both of you want to get married before you sleep together..." Adrian explained honestly.
"Oh wow...I didn't know that he talked about me after he slept with you, years ago...Thank God that we both have changed a lot since then...I defiantly would like to have a family with Ricky someday...I know he already has John but...I'm sure he would like more kids...Maybe...We haven't really talked about that..." Grace said seriously.
"Well...You two have a lot of time to figure that out...And I think Ricky only talked about you after we slept together to make me jealous...He was such a jerk wanting to get in every girl's pants...I can't believe I fell for him...But I couldn't be happier with Omar..." Adrian said nicely, a litte irritated, and then sincerely.
"We do...And don't worry about what Ricky did in the past...It doesn't matter anymore, Adrian. He's a new man since he accepted Jesus into his heart...And I'm glad you're happy with Omar..." Grace said kindly.
"Thanks, Grace...I'm really happy that Ricky has changed for the better...We should probably get going though..I'm so tired." Adrian said sweetly.
"You're welcome...I'm pretty tired too...My flight was exhausting...I'll see you tomorrow...Good night." Grace said smiling and she gave Adrian a short hug.
"Yeah...Good night...Omar! Get up!" Adrian said happily and then she tapped Omar on the shoulder after Grace got on the elevator.
"Ugh...Ok...Let's go home..." Omar said sleepily as he got up from the couch and stretched his arms.
"I'll drive...Come on sleepy head..." Adrian said annoyed as she grabbed Omar's hand and they walked out of the hotel.
The next day in California...
Jack was watching TV when his phone rang.
"Hey Jack! How were your finals?" Chloe said kindly after Jack answered his phone.
"They were pretty easy...How were yours?" Jack said nicely.
"Some of them were hard but I think I passed all of them...So...I wanted to let you know that I broke up with Brandon last night...It was pretty hard but...I thought it would be for the best..." Chloe said sadly.
"Oh...I'm glad that you did what you thought was best, Chloe...Do you want to come over? No one's home..." Jack said smiling.
"Uh...Sure...I'll be there soon..." Chloe said sweetly and she hung up.
About ten minutes later Jack answered his door and Chloe walked in.
"Where are your parents?" Chloe said intrigued.
"They're at a charity thing...They love to do that kind of stuff around the holidays...You know that Grace and Ricky are in New York this weekend for the trial..." Jack said seriously as they walked into the kitchen.
"That's pretty cool...I know they're in New York...I hope the trial goes well..." Chloe said concerned as she sat at the table.
"Me too...Ricky went through so much with his father...He almost hit him at the batting cages with a bat...It was pretty scary..." Jack said honestly as he pulled out a liter of soda from the fridge.
"Wow...That's terrible...I guess he must really hate him..." Chloe said sadly.
"Yeah...He did abuse him and his mother so...I don't blame him...Do you want anything to drink?" Jack said as he sat at the table with a glass of soda.
"Maybe later...I feel so bad for Ricky...I can't imagine living with abusive parents...My parents didn't always care about me while I was growing up though...After my Mom got remarried, she wanted to spend as much time as she could with my step dad...I feel like they kind of...put me under the rug...you know?" Chloe said honestly.
"I feel bad for him too...But at least he's doing all right...And I'm sorry about your parents...Heh...I wish my parents would give me less attention sometimes though...In high school they were always wanting to know how things were going with Grace and Madison...I'm glad they cared about them but...they don't need to know everything about my love life..." Jack said sternly.
"Heh...I know what you mean...Ever since I've lived with Leo it seems like he wants me to have fun but at the same time he kind of wants to protect me...Camille is really great though...She trusts me...And...your parents liked me, right?" Chloe said kindly.
"Oh...That's just how dads can be sometimes about their daughters...My parents liked you...but I don't think they knew you that well...My Dad's glad that we're friends though..." Jack said smiling.
"I'm happy we're friends too...I just hope that Brandon will be ok...He didn't seem that upset when I broke up with him..." Chloe said concerned.
"I bet he will be fine...He has a family to help him out, right?" Jack said intrigued.
"Yeah...They're really great...What about you? Are...you really ok with Grace being with Ricky?" Chloe said honestly.
"Of course I am...I am still in shock a little bit that they've been together for so long but...I am really happy for them...It's a lot better than being jealous...Feeling that way did more harm than good for me..." Jack said sincerely.
"Me too...And I'm glad that you're happy for them...It's not always easy to get over someone..." Chloe said sweetly.
"That's true...Heh...What are you doing for Christmas?" Jack said after drinking some of his soda.
"Um...I'm guessing we're going to have a bunch of people over like on Thanksgiving...That was a lot of fun." Chloe said nicely.
"Yeah it was...I hope Leo has people over...His house is really nice..." Jack said kindly.
"It sure is...Do you want to play a game or something?" Chloe said intrigued.
"Sure...We have board games and video games..." Jack said smiling.
"I wasn't talking about that kind of game..." Chloe smirked as she stood up.
"Uh...What kind of game are you talking about?" Jack said worried.
"Shh...Just let me show you..." Chloe said quietly as she sat on Jack's lap and then she leaned in towards him.
"Chloe! What are you doing?" Jack said shocked as he pulled away from her.
"Come on Jack...I know you didn't invite me over here just to hang out..." Chloe said seductively.
"No...We can't...I'm sorry...Get off of me..." Jack said firmly and Chloe got off him.
"All right...I understand...I guess we could play some other kind of game..." Chloe said sadly.
"Don't feel bad, Chloe...You are very beautiful but...I don't know if we should get back together..." Jack said concerned.
"It's because I used to be a hooker, isn't it? You probably think I'm some disease-carrying skank...Is that it?" Chloe said angrily as she raised her voice.
"No! Of course not! I'm just..." Jack said surprised and Chloe cut him off.
"You just want to be with someone else? Someone who hasn't slept around with random guys like me?" Chloe said firmly.
"Uh...You can't help the fact that you were forced to be a prostitute...And...I really don't care how many guys you've been with...I just think that you could do better than me...I'm afraid of cheating on someone else again..." Jack said honestly.
"Why would you cheat on someone else? Didn't you learn your lesson when you cheated before?" Chloe said intrigued.
"Well...It could happen again...If I'm tempted..." Jack said seriously.
"Then don't give in to temptation...You should know how to do that since you want to be a minister...Right?" Chloe said firmly.
"Yeah but...that's easier said then done...And...Ricky said that he could hook me up with someone else." Jack said nicely.
"Oh, really? Why didn't you just say that in the first place? Who is it?" Chloe said a little irritated as she crossed her arms.
"Cause I was being honest...And I have no idea who Ricky wants to hook me up with..." Jack said seriously.
"Whatever...If you ever want to get back together, just let me know...I gotta go..." Chloe said as she rolled her eyes and then she walked towards the door.
"Ugh...Chloe wait!" Jack said as he walked over towards her.
"What?" Chloe said as she turned around.
"Call me crazy but...I've been thinking...Maybe it was God's plan for me to save you from Mickey and for us to...be together...Maybe...you're the one that I've been waiting for all these years..." Jack said honestly.
"Really? You think that...we could work?" Chloe said kindly.
"Yeah...I really like you..." Jack said nicely as he put some of Chloe's hair behind her ear.
"Heh...I really like you too, Jack...I guess I could give you another shot...If we take things slow..." Chloe said sweetly as her cheeks turned pink.
"Anything you want..." Jack said happily and he gave Chloe a short kiss.
"Mmm...Do you want to go out later?" Chloe said as she licked her lips.
"Sure...I'll pick you up around eight..." Jack said smiling.
"Sounds good...See you then." Chloe said nicely and she walked out the door.
"Crap! Spitter get down!" Cappie said loudly as he got down behind a bush.
"Um...Excuse me? What are you doing?" Chloe said confused as she walked over by some bushes.
"Oh...Hello there, miss gorgeous. My friend and I are trying to find a guy who shot him in the leg...We've been...uh...spying on people in these bushes..." Cappie said as he smirked.
"Yeah...I'm really sorry about him...He doesn't know what he's doing..." Rusty said nicely as he stood up from behind the bushes.
"What? Why don't you just ask the cops to help you out?" Chloe said surprised.
"We did but...whoever shot him wasn't on the security cameras...So...we're trying to hunt him down on our own...We thought that he would live in this neighborhood since it's close to the golf course and that's where Spitter got shot..." Cappie said seriously.
"I see...Good luck finding him...And I'm sorry that you got shot...Spitter?" Chloe said confused.
"Uh...That's just my nickname...My real name's Rusty...Heh...If you don't mind me asking...are you single?" Rusty said nicely as he put his hand out.
"Heh...I'm Chloe and flattered but...I just got back with the guy who lives at this house..." Chloe said sweetly as she shook Rusty's hand.
"Well...It's a pleasure to meet you, Claire...And I guess we'll head down to the bar to find Spitter a girl..." Cappie said happily as he shook Chloe's hand.
"It's Chloe...And...I gotta go..." Chloe said awkwardly as she let go of Cappie's hand.
"Right...See ya around..." Cappie said nicely and he walked to his car with Rusty.
A few hours later in New York...
"Thanks for having us over for dinner Adrian..." Ricky said smiling.
"It was my pleasure...All that stuff my Dad talked about was pretty overwhelming..." Adrian said nicely as she sat at the table.
"Yeah but...I think what he said will really help us to win the trial..." Ricky said seriously.
"I sure hope so...Everything was delicious, Adrian." Omar said smiling.
"Thanks Omie...Do you guys want to go to the club or something?" Adrian said intrigued.
"Um...It's only eight and...What would we do with John?" Amy said concerned.
"You could drop him off at your friend's house again." Adrian said nicely.
"No thanks, Adrian...I would rather just hang out here..." Ricky said seriously.
"Come on...The club we went to before is a lot of fun..." Adrian said sweetly.
"Hey guys...Sorry I took so long in the bathroom...My Mom called..." Grace said kindly as she walked into the living room.
"That's great, Grace...Do you want to go to the club tonight?" Adrian said a little irritated and then smiling.
"Sure! That sounds like a lot of fun! We should go to celebrate being done with finals and for going over everything with the trial..." Grace said happily.
"Uh...The trial's on Monday...We still have some things to go over for it tomorrow..." Ricky said sternly.
"Yeah but...I think Grace is right...We should go out to celebrate being done with finals." Ben said nicely.
"Um...Ben...Do you remember what happened the last time that all of us were at a club together?" Amy said concerned as she looked at him.
"Oh...yeah...but...if none of us drink, then we don't have anything to worry about...Right?" Ben said awkwardly.
"I...guess not...Ricky?" Amy said sadly as she looked at Ricky.
"I wanted to spend the night with John...That's the least that you all could do for me since I came here for Bob's damn trial...Instead of pressuring me to go to the club..." Ricky said angrily as he looked at Amy and then he walked out the front door.
"Woah...Where the hell did that come from?" Adrian said surprised.
"Thanks Adrian...I'll go talk to him..." Amy said annoyed and she walked out the door.
"I'm sure he's fine...He just needs some time to cool off." Omar said nicely as he rubbed Adrian's back.
"You're probably right...I guess we can hang out here..." Adrian said honestly.
"Or...We could go out without Ricky..." Grace said sweetly.
"No...He's right...I don't know what I was thinking by suggesting that we go to the club...He's going through a really rough time right now...And why would you want to go without him?" Adrian said intrigued.
"I would rather go with him but...I completely understand if he wants to stay here with John..." Grace said nicely.
"What are you hiding?" Adrian said suspiciously as Ben and Omar looked at Grace.
"Nothing...I thought the club sounded like fun and...Ricky acted like he didn't want to go." Grace said honestly.
"Just forget it...We should all stay here to support him..." Adrian said seriously.
Meanwhile outside...
"What is wrong with you? I know you're going through a hard time right now but...that doesn't mean you have to take it out on all of us." Amy said firmly.
"What's wrong with me? I haven't seen John since Thanksgiving...And when I want to see him, all you guys want to go to the club? Ugh...I don't know what Adrian was thinking by saying that...Ben and Grace wanted to go too..." Ricky said sternly.
"Uh...I think she just wanted to do something fun with everyone...It's been a long day...I know you've really wanted to see John...They just don't understand what it's like to share a child..." Amy said honestly.
"Yeah...It has been a long day...And...I don't want to go to the club cause...of what happened before..." Ricky said seriously.
"Um...Why would that happen again if we don't drink?" Amy said concerned.
"You're right...But...I don't want to go...You can if you want..." Ricky said nicely.
"Gee, thanks...I was anxiously waiting for your approval for me to go out and have fun for once..." Amy said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.
"What's that supposed to mean? I was just being nice." Ricky said a little irritated.
"Oh...That's right...Since you're a Christian now, you're trying to be nice...I almost forgot...I just don't like you telling me what to do...I'm in charge of my life, Ricky...Got it?" Amy said stubbornly.
"Wow...You are being really selfish right now...And...God's in charge of your life...He could stop your heart from beating at any second..." Ricky said firmly.
"And you're judging me too?! That's fantastic! You have to ruin everything!" Amy said angrily.
"Would you just shut up? I'm telling you the truth. And what do you mean I have to ruin everything? Is this about Ben?" Ricky said sternly as he raised his voice.
"No...It's not about Ben...You hurt me...a lot Ricky...And...I thought that...we had a small chance of getting back together but...There's no way that will happen..." Amy said honestly as her eyes got watery.
"God, Amy...I know I've hurt you a lot and I've apologized...What else do you want me to do? And I thought you loved Ben..." Ricky said seriously.
"I do love Ben...But...I don't like sharing John with you...Life was easier when the three of us lived together..." Amy said sadly as she wiped her eyes.
"Yeah but...you wanted to come here...And I never loved you, Amy...We've talked about this before...Why do you think that I would want to get back with you? I am completely and deeply in love with Grace...Get over yourself..." Ricky said firmly.
"You're right...I'm so sorry, Ricky..." Amy said through her tears as she wiped her face.
"Hey...It's ok...I know sharing John isn't easy but...We've been making it work so far...I'm sorry too..." Ricky said sincerely as he pulled Amy into a hug and then Adrian opened the door.
"A-hemm...Do you two want some cherry pie?" Adrian said awkwardly.
"Oh...Sure..." Amy said kindly as she pulled away from Ricky and then they walked inside.
"What took you two so long?" Ben said intrigued after taking a bite of his pie.
"We just had to talk about John..." Amy said sadly as she sat next to Ben.
"Have you been crying?" Grace said concerned as she looked at Amy.
"Yeah...But...I'm ok...Thanks Adrian." Amy said nicely as Adrian gave her a plate with a piece of pie on it and a fork.
"What did you do?" Ben said meanly as he looked at Ricky.
"Nothing...We just got into a little argument..." Ricky said a little irritated as he sat next to Grace.
"About what?" Grace said suspiciously.
"John...We're fine...Really..." Amy said nicely after she took a bite of her pie.
"It wasn't about John...You made her cry, Ricky..." Ben said sternly as he looked at Amy and then Ricky.
"Amy thought that...we could get back together..." Ricky said awkwardly.
"What?!" Ben and Grace said shocked at the same time.
"I'm really sorry...I didn't mean it...I know that we can't get back together...Because...I love you, Ben...And Ricky loves Grace...I...just had a moment of weakness..." Amy said sincerely.
"Then why did you say it?" Ben said concerned.
"Just drop it, Ben...She didn't mean it..." Ricky said sternly.
"Tell me!" Ben said loudly and everyone's eyes widened.
"I said it because...I thought it would be best for John and...it's hard sharing him with Ricky..." Amy said seriously.
"But...you two don't love each other...anymore..." Adrian said honestly.
"I know...Just forget it...We're trying the best we can to raise John..." Amy said firmly.
"And...I think you both are doing a great job...I also know that both of you have been through a lot together but...we're all here to help...Ben and I have already helped you two to move on...Right?" Grace said kindly.
"You're right, Grace...Thanks..." Amy said sweetly.
"Yeah...I'm really thankful that you've helped us..." Ricky said nicely as he looked at Grace.
"You're welcome...I'm happy to help...And it's been a pleasure helping you to move on, Ricky...Heh...Thanks for the pie, Adrian." Grace said sweetly as she wiped her mouth with a napkin.
"Heh...No problem...What are you two going to do with John next semester?" Adrian said nicely and intrigued.
"Um...I don't know...I think it would be best if he stayed here...So we don't have to deal with him transferring pre-schools..." Amy said seriously.
"It's really not a big deal for him to transfer pre-schools..." Ricky said honestly.
"But he likes his teacher here and he has friends here...We can't do this when he goes to elemntary school...That will be too stressful for him...How about...you keep him during your winter break? It's five weeks right?" Amy said sternly.
"Yeah it is...And I'll keep him in the summer too...If you get him during the school year, then I'll take him in the summer and other breaks..." Ricky said nicely.
"Then it's settled! John gets to spend plenty of time with both of you! Problem solved!" Adrian said happily.
"That sounds good to me." Ben said smiling.
"I'm glad you guys worked everything out...Do you want to play a game?" Omar said kindly.
"I would like to but John fell asleep on the couch..." Amy said sweetly as she smiled.
"He's fine...We can play a game in the basement..." Adrian said smiling as she stood up and everyone else followed her downstairs.
"Wow...Your basement is really nice...I like the blue wall paper." Grace said surprised.
"Thanks...Omar picked it...What game do you guys want to play?" Adrian said intrigued.
"Oh wow...You have Sorry and Mouse Trap...I haven't played those games since the third grade with Henry and Alice...Heh..." Ben said happily.
"Let's play them!" Adrian said excited as she grabbed the Sorry and Mouse Trap games from a shelf.
"Who are you texting?" Grace said intrigued as she looked at Ricky while everyone sat on the floor.
"Jack...He texted me earlier that he got back with Chloe...I guess I don't have to hook him up with Haley." Ricky said seriously as he put his phone in his pocket.
"Oh...Good for them...I guess..." Grace said awkwardly.
"Wait...You were gonna hook Jack up with Haley? I'm pretty sure she was a bigger whore than I was..." Adrian said surprised.
"Who's Haley?" Amy said confused.
"Uh...I slept with her once..." Ricky said sadly.
"Who haven't you slept with? That doesn't surprise me..." Ben said a little irritated.
"At least I didn't go out with a pot head...What was that stupid girl's name?" Ricky said sternly.
"Um...I think you guys should chill...Let's start the game..." Omar said concerned.
"Dylan...Don't remind me about her...She was so annoying..." Ben said firmly.
"I won't if you don't insult me about my past..." Ricky said honestly as he looked at Ben.
"Oh...I see how it is...An eye for an eye, huh? I'm sure that will go over well during the trial...The death penalty isn't even legal in New York...I really don't know how you're going to win it..." Ben said meanly.
"I'm going to win it with Reuben's help...And if you don't shut up, I'll have to pumble you..." Ricky said meanly.
"That's very Christian of you, Ricky...Did you learn that from Grace?" Ben said sarcastically.
"What is wrong with you, Ben? Stop being a smart ass and just roll the dice!" Adrian said loudly as she handed Ben the dice.
"Can't you two just get along for one game?" Grace said concerned.
"We'll try...Oh, look at that! I rolled a six!" Ben said excited and he moved his game piece.
"Lucky you..." Ricky sighed and he rolled his eyes.
"It's ok, Ricky...I'll let you win..." Grace said quietly as she whispered into Ricky's ear.
"But Ben's winning..." Ricky said confused.
"Not anymore." Grace smirked after she rolled the dice and moved her game piece.
A couple hours everyone finished playing the board games and Ben and Amy drove Grace and Ricky to their hotel.
"That was a fun night..." Ricky said nicely as he sat on the bed.
"Yeah...But Ben and Amy were pretty cranky...I don't think Adrian helped them..." Grace said concerned as she sat next to Ricky.
"Obviously...Since Amy thought there was a small chance that we could get back together...That's impossible...Because I love you..." Ricky said honestly as he looked at Grace in the eyes.
"I know that Ricky...And I love you too...But...I know how Amy feels...After Jack and I broke up before, I thought we could get back together...And every time we got back together...It never worked...I'm glad it didn't cause then I wouldn't be sitting next to you right now." Grace said sincerely.
"Me too...I'm just relieved that we finally figured out what to do with John...We need to get some sleep..." Ricky said kindly and then sleepily.
"We do...But we could do this..." Grace said sweetly and she gave Ricky a long kiss.
"Mmm...You know...There is a hot tub here..." Ricky said happily as he smirked.
"Heh...I thought you wanted to sleep..." Grace said nicely as she blushed.
"Yeah...But I did bring my underwear that's like a speedo...And I brought your pink bikini..." Ricky said seductively.
"Oooh...You shouldn't have...Isn't the hot tub closed?" Grace said as she smirked and then worried.
"No...It's open until like 3 am on Saturday..." Ricky said smiling.
"Let's go then!" Grace said excited as she stood up with Ricky.
Ten minutes later Grace and Ricky walked into the pool area with towels and they got in the hot tub.
"Aaaah...This is nice..." Ricky said happily as he got in the hot tub.
"Yes it is..." Grace said sweetly as she got in the hot tub.
"Since there's no one else here...Do you want to...practice?" Ricky said quietly as he smiled slowly.
"Practice what?" Grace said confused.
"Making out in water...Heh..." Ricky said kindly as he moved closer to Grace.
"Mmm...I would love to..." Grace said sweetly and she put her hands on Ricky's neck as he moved his body against hers. Ricky smirked as Grace bit her bottom lip and he leaned in and slowly kissed her.
"How was that?" Ricky said nicely.
"Really nice...Give me more..." Grace said seductively as she put her legs around Ricky's waist.
"All right..." Ricky said smiling and he kissed Grace slowly again.
They continued kissing in the hot tub and Ricky slowly grinded his body against Grace's.
"Woah...Slow down, Ricky...It's getting a little too hot in here...Heh..." Grace said concerned as she took a breath for air.
"It's ok, Grace...We've done this before...Just relax..." Ricky said confidently and he kissed Grace again.
"Mmm...Yeah but...I'm getting really turned on and...I think we should stop..." Grace said seriously.
"You're right...I'm sorry...It's already after mid night anyway...We should get some sleep..." Ricky said honestly and he got out of the hot tub.
"Yeah...Ahhh..." Grace sighed happily as she watched water drip down Ricky's chest and abdomen.
"Come on Grace..." Ricky said smiling as he used his towel to get dry and Grace got out of the hot tub and grabbed her towel.
The next morning...
"Ricky! Wake up! It's snowing!" Grace said excited as she looked out the window.
"Ugh...Really?" Ricky said as he rubbed his eyes and then he walked over to Grace by the window.
"Isn't it beautiful? I've never seen snow before..." Grace said smiling.
"Wow...It sure is...We should go sledding or ice skating." Ricky said surprised.
"Yeah we should...But...we have to get through tomorrow first..." Grace said honestly.
"I know..." Ricky said sadly and there was a knock on the door and Ricky walked over to it and answered it.
"Good morning Ricky...I just got news that Bob's trial has been changed to this afternoon...The judge had to switch it with some other case..." Reuben said seriously.
"Oh...Are you going to be ready for it?" Ricky said concerned.
"Of course...Are you?" Reuben said firmly.
"Yes sir...Is there anything else that we need to go over?" Ricky said intrigued.
"I don't think so...Just be ready to go at twelve thirty..." Reuben said kindly and he walked away from the door.
"So...I guess we have a couple hours until the trial..." Grace said sadly as she walked over to Ricky.
"Yeah...I think we should pray..." Ricky said as he turned around and grabbed Grace's hands.
"Ok...Do you want me to?" Grace said nicely as she looked deeply into Ricky's brown eyes.
"No...I'll do it..." Ricky said firmly as he put his head down and he closed his eyes. Grace also put her head down and closed her eyes.
Ricky took a deep breath and he started to pray.
"God, please help me to win the trial...I don't want Bob to hurt anyone else...So...please...Let justice be done...I know that...I won't gain what I lost if...my father does die but...he doesn't deserve to live...He also hurt Omar thinking that he was me...I don't want to take a chance of letting him live if he wants to kill me...So please help me God...And in Jesus' name, Amen..." Ricky prayed honestly with watery eyes.
"Whatever happens Ricky, God will help us get through it...Everything is going to be ok...I'm here for you..."Grace said sincerely as she hugged Ricky and rubbed his back.
"I sure hope so...I love you, Grace..." Ricky said sadly as he hugged Grace tighter.
"I love you too...Let's get something to eat..." Grace said sweetly and she let go of Ricky.
A couple hours later everyone walked into the court room and they saw Bob sitting on one side of the room with handcuffs on his hands.
"All right...Good afternoon everyone...This is the case of Bob Underwood verses Ricky Underwood...And Reuben Lee is the DA present...Would you like to begin?" The judge said seriously as he looked at Reuben.
"Yes I would...Thank you, your honor...I have known Ricky Underwood for a number of years...He used to date my daughter...And now I would consider him as a friend...He is very kind, charming, and a real gentleman...At first glance, you wouldn't suspect him to have come from an abusive home...He experienced domestic violence between his parents at a young age and...his father also abused him...Bob...Not only did he abuse Ricky physically, sexually, and emotionally but...he also bought and used illegal drugs and...he tried to kill my daughter's husband, Omar...Because he thought that he was Ricky." Reuben explained seriously.
"Thank you...Reuben...Can Omar Brown come to the front please?" The jusge said seriously. Omar stood up and he walked to the front of the court room. A cop asked him if he would tell the complete truth and Omar put his hand on a Bible and swore he would. Next he sat down in the seat next to the judge.
"Hello Omar...Can you tell me about the night that Bob shot you?" The judge said intrigued.
"Of course, your honor...I remember getting shot in the chest...And arm...It was extremely painful...The most painful moments of my life...I thought I was going to die that night...Thankfully my wife, Adrian was there to help me and I got to the hospital quickly...I had heart surgery and it took me a long time to recover...I also didn't know that Bob shot me that night but...when I found out that he shot me because he thought I was Ricky, I felt so terrible for Ricky...I didn't know that Bob hated him to the point where he wanted to murder him...That is why he doesn't deserve to live..." Omar said honestly as his eyes got watery.
"Thank you son...Can I have Ricky come up here please?" The judge said sternly.
"You can do this, Ricky..." Grace said quietly and she gave Ricky a quick hug and he walked to the front of the court room and swore he would tell the complete truth on the Bible.
"Ok, Ricky...Tell me about your childhood..." The judge said concerned as he looked at Ricky.
"All right...My childhood started off pretty good...But after I turned eight years old...It was hell...I was terrified to go home everyday after school...I had to take care of myself because my freaking parents were either too drunk or high to care about me...And then once the abuse started...I became even more afraid...So afraid to the point where I thought if I ran away from home or asked someone for help, that my father would kill me...I eventually got to a point where...I didn't even care if I lived...I hated myself because I felt like it was my fault that Bob wanted to hurt me...My mother was too afraid to help me too because if she did, she knew that Bob would probably have killed her...I would beg God to help me...And...He actually did help me eventually...I told one of my teachers at school about the abuse and eventually I got placed into a foster home...And I will always be truly grateful for that...Margaret and Shaquer saved my life back then...When I turned sixteen, I became a father...And Bob got out of jail and he wanted to sell my son...That just made me sick...But he went back to jail for buying drugs...And then he got out again and almost killed my friend because he wanted to kill me...This is why he doesn't deserve to live...I don't want him to hurt me or anyone else ever again...He's an evil person...And I think he should have gotten killed a long time ago but...I wasn't brave enough back then to make that happen." Ricky said firmly as his eyes got watery.
"All right...Before I ask Bob to come up here...Is there anyone else that would like to speak?" The judge said seriously.
"Is it ok if my daughter comes up here, your honor?" Reuben said concerned.
"Sure..." The judge said nicely and Adrian swore she would tell the truth on the Bible and she sat next to the judge.
"Go ahead Adrian..." Reuben said sadly.
"Ok...I have known Ricky for several years...We went to high school together...We even went to the same college last year...He's been through a lot and...so have I...I didn't know that Reuben was my father until I was sixteen...He wasn't there for me when I was growing up just like Bob wasn't there for Ricky when he was young...He treated him like trash and...Maybe if he didn't, then Ricky may have not become a father at a young age...However we can't change the past...And...All we can really do is...deal with the current problem which is that Bob almost killed my husband, Omar because he thought he was Ricky...I don't want him to hurt anyone else ever again either...He's had plenty of chances to change but...he will never change...So what's the point of letting him live? That's all your honor..." Adrian said sternly and she walked from the front to sit next to Omar.
"Thank you, Adrian...Bob...Please come to the front..." The judge said firmly and Bob walked to the front and swore to tell the truth on the Bible.
"So...Bob...I'm sure everyone is dying to know...Why do you want to kill Ricky?" Reuben said seriously as he looked at Bob in the eyes.
"Because he ruined my life...I wasn't ready to be a father when Nora had him...I know I treated him in the wrong way...And...That I don't deserve sympathy from anyone...But...Do you know how hard it is to be me? I had goals and dreams but...they changed after I became a father...I used drugs to cope with the stress of being one and I took out my problems on Ricky and Nora...I know it was wrong but...I can't change what happened...And...I truly am sorry for shooting Omar...I didn't mean to shoot him..." Bob said honestly.
"Ricky had goals and dreams when he became a teenage father but he has treated John very well and he's raising him in the best way that he can with Amy...What you did is unacceptable and just plain wrong...I know you didn't mean to shoot Omar because you meant to shoot Ricky...And your damn friends Tim and Debra even kidnapped Ricky and Grace to steal Leo's money...They're in prison now and I hope they stay there...But you...You've been there countless times and you haven't learned anything...As far as I'm concerned, nobody needs or wants you so...that's why you need to be gone from the Earth..." Reuben said a little irritated.
"Reuben, wait!" Grace said loudly as she stood up.
"Do you have something to say, miss?" The judge said surprised and Grace walked to the front of the court room.
"What is she doing?" Leo said confused.
"I don't know, Dad...I hope this goes well..." Ben said quietly.
"We'll see..." Amy said sadly.
"Please sit back down, Grace." Reuben said firmly.
"No! I'm tired of everyone acting like this! Yes, Bob messed up a lot but...He is wanted and needed by God...Anyone can change for the better...You just need to have faith and trust in them...Ricky is proof of this...He used to sleep with almost any girl that he could but now he is faithful to me and he got baptized...Who are we to decide when Bob should die? If we kill him, are we really that much better than him?" Grace said honestly as she looked at Bob, Reuben, and then the judge.
"I understand what you're saying, Grace but...Bob wants to kill Ricky..." Reuben said sternly.
"Fine...Kill him...What do I care?" Grace said sadly as her eyes got watery and she walked out of the court room.
"All right...Before I have the jury vote on a decision, does anyone else want to speak?" The judge said firmly.
"No, your honor...Please proceed..." Reuben said calmly and Ricky walked out of the court room and he saw Grace crying on a bench.
"Hey Grace...What in God's name were you thinking? I thought you were on my side..." Ricky said a little irritated as he sat next to her.
"You don't know what it's like to lose your father...I'm afraid if Bob does get the death penalty...Then you'll feel guilty for the rest of your life...He can change...If...we give him another chance..." Grace said through her tears.
"I won't feel guilty...Like I said before...Bob was never my father because of how he treated me...He said that I ruined his life which is why he wants to kill me...If he gets the death penalty, then I'm protecting myself...You don't want to lose me, right?" Ricky said seriously as he looked at Grace in the eyes.
"Of course not but...Why can't he just stay in prison for life?" Grace said intrigued as she wiped her face.
"Because he could get out again and he would probably do anything to kill me...I don't want to take that chance..." Ricky said stenly.
"All right...Whatever happens...will hopefully be for the best..." Grace said sadly as Ricky grabbed her hand.
"I'm sure it will be...Let's get back in there...The jury is making a decision..." Ricky said concerned as they stood up and they walked back into the court room.
There's chapter 80! I know it was really long. Ha ha! I was going to update on Tuesday but I couldn't wait that long for you guys to read this chapter. :) What's the verdict going to be?
