Friday at Grant High...
"Hey Ethan...Today's the day..." Kathy said happily.
"Yeah...I hope I won." Ethan said a little irritated as he slammed his locker.
"Is something wrong?" Kathy said concerned.
"No...I'm just tired...I'll see you at lunch." Ethan said nicely and he walked down the hall and bumped into Grace.
"Hey Ethan! How are you?" Grace said sweetly.
"I'm all right...What are you doing here?" Ethan said surprised.
"I'm here to talk to the counselor about helping with med camp next summer." Grace said happily.
"Oh...That's cool...I thought you already had a job at that clinic though..." Ethan said confused.
"I do but...I want to keep my options open...In case I don't like working at the clinic...How's Kathy?" Grace said kindly.
"Gotcha...Kathy is ok...I need to get to class..." Ethan said sadly.
"Did you think about what Ricky and I said the other night?" Grace said concerned.
"I did...And...I don't think I can be friends with Kathy anymore...I'm giving up on the petition too...It was a stupid idea..." Ethan said annoyed.
"What? You can't give up on the petition just because of Kathy...I think you could win...Why can't you be friends with her?" Grace said seriously.
"Because I don't trust her...And I did get over a thousand signatures but Margaret said that a bunch of signatures might not be able to get a car dealership to change their car prices..." Ethan said honestly.
"Well...You could try to trust Kathy again...If she's willing to be your friend, that means she trusts you...Don't you think she deserves another chance? Forget what Margaret said...You can do anything if you try, Ethan...Never forget that...I hope you have a good day." Grace said nicely and she walked into the counselor's office.
"Woah...Grace is right...Damn...What if...she likes me? If she believes in me? Heh...Yeah right...I couldn't do that to Ricky..." Ethan said quietly to himself and he walked to class.
Meanwhile at the butcher shop...
"So...You're going to be working here during the entire break?" Ricky said intrigued.
"Of course I am...I need some money anyway...The Niagara Falls trip was pretty expensive..." Ben said kindly.
"No kidding...I can't believe your dad almost got robbed...again..." Ricky said seriously.
"Yeah...Thank goodness the cops showed up and caught the people who tried to steal his money...How did you guess the passcode to his vault anyway?" Ben said surprised.
"I got lucky...And I remember him saying that 867-5309 was his favorite song...How's Amy?" Ricky said smiling.
"Heh...It is his favorite song...Amy's doing all right...You just saw her this morning when she picked up John." Ben said seriously.
"I know but we haven't really talked since...New York...She isn't still upset about me?" Ricky said concerned.
"No...She actually wants to marry me on Christmas...I don't know when but that's what she said." Ben said smiling.
"Oh...That's good...Wait...This Christmas?" Ricky said calmly and then shocked.
"Heh...Of course not...Maybe next Christmas...We'll just have to see how things go...Why?" Ben said seriously.
"You said that she wants to marry you on Christmas...That's really special, Ben...But are you sure that you want to marry her so soon?" Ricky said worried.
"Yes...Amy is the love of my life...Don't tell me that you're jealous...Again..." Ben said sternly.
"Wow...You really think I'm that insecure? Grace is the love of my life...Amy is all yours...I really am happy for you two." Ricky said honestly.
"Thanks Ricky...But I have to know...Why did you choose Grace? I thought that Clementine girl liked you..." Ben said nicely.
"Uh...Clementine did have a crush on me but I only like her as a friend...And...I chose Grace because she's the nicest girl I know...She accepts and loves me for who I am...She also believed in me when no one else did and knew that I have what it takes to be a Christian...I used to think I wasn't good enough but the truth is...Anyone can have a relationship with Jesus if they give Him a chance..." Ricky said seriously.
"Yeah...Grace is a pretty amazing, girl...And you're right about Jesus...I guess you really have changed..." Ben said kindly.
"I sure have...Can you get me some steaks from the back? Break time is over..." Ricky said firmly.
"Right...I'll be back..." Ben said as he went into the meat locker and Adrian walked into the butcher shop.
"Hey Adrian! How are you?" Ricky said excited and he gave Adrian a hug.
"I'm doing fine...Omar and I got back about an hour ago...We would like some steaks for lunch..." Adrian said sweetly as she pulled away from Ricky.
"Coming right up...How was your flight?" Ricky said intrigued as he put two steaks in a bag.
"Really long...I'm pretty tired...Hello Benny..." Adrian said tiredly as Ben walked out of the meat locker.
"Hey Adrian...Here are the steaks..." Ben said nicely as he put some steaks on a counter behind Ricky.
"Cut them up...Please..." Ricky said sternly as Adrian handed him her credit card.
"Ooooh...You're pretty good at being the assistant manager..." Adrian said as she smirked.
"I know...I'll see you later..." Ricky said a little irritated.
"What? You can't talk for a minute?" Adrian said concerned.
"No...I got a lot of work to do...Enjoy your steaks, Adrian..." Ricky said honestly as he gave Adrian a bag with two steaks in them.
"I will...Where's Grace?" Adrian said annoyed.
"Shopping...Bye..." Ricky sighed as he got on the computer next to the cash register.
"See ya later...Bye Ben..." Adrian said a little irritated and she left the butcher shop.
"That was a little rude..." Ben said sternly.
"Why? We have a lot of orders to take care of...Get moving, Ben..." Ricky said seriously.
Meanwhile at the mall...
"Isn't this fun, Amy? You, me, Robbie, and John shopping..." Anne said happily.
"Yeah...It sure is great, Mom..." Amy said sadly after taking a bite of her sub sandwich.
"Is there something wrong?" Anne said concerned.
"Um...Please don't get upset but...Ben wants to marry me on Christmas...Not this year but...maybe next year..." Amy said seriously.
"Oh...Wow...Are you sure that you're ready for that? I don't care when you two get married but...you were going to marry Ricky and..." Anne said surprised.
"I know...I left him...for Ben..." Amy said quietly.
"What? You left Ricky for Ben?" Anne said shocked.
"I did...I've always loved him, Mom...I recently realized that...All Ricky is and ever will be to me is John's father..." Amy said honestly.
"All right...Thank you for being honest...But...you don't sound too excited about Ben wanting to marry you..." Anne said concerned.
"I am but...I just don't know if we should do it on Christmas...It's about presents, spending time with family, and Jesus' birthday...I don't want it to be our wedding day and anniversary too...That's a lot to celebrate every year on Christmas..." Amy said seriously.
"That's true...Just tell Ben how you feel...Are you two even officially engaged?" Anne said worried.
"No we're not...And I will tell him how I feel...Thanks Mom..." Amy said kindly.
"You're welcome, Amy...You do really love Ben?" Anne said intrigued.
"Of course I do...I just told you that I left Ricky for him..." Amy said nicely.
"All right...I'm just making sure...Let's get going...I think Robbie has to go to the bathroom...Right buddy?" Anne said sweetly.
"Yes! I have to go potty!" Robbie said excited.
Meanwhile at Cindy's and Reuben's house...
"Thanks for the steaks..." Omar said kindly.
"You're welcome...Ricky sure was busy working..." Adrian said as she put their dishes in the sink.
"I bet...Working at a butcher shop sounds like a lot of work...Especially since he's the assistant manager..." Omar said seriously.
"Yeah...So...When are we going to see Casey and Cappie?" Adrian said intrigued as she sat at the kitchen table.
"Tonight at eight at Jeff's...They have some exciting news to tell us..." Omar said smiling.
"Oh...I wonder what it is...Do you want some desert?" Adrian said nicely.
"Heh...I guess we'll see...And...I would like some cookies..." Omar said happily.
"There's some in the pantry...Chocolate chip...Heh..." Adrian said smiling and Omar got chocolate chip cookies from the pantry and sat back down.
After Adrian and Omar ate some cookies the doorbell rang.
"I wonder who that could be..." Omar said concerned and Adrian opened the door.
"Hey Adrian! Ricky let me know that you came back earlier." Grace said happily and she gave Adrian a hug.
"Hey Grace...What a pleasant surprise...Heh..." Adrian said awkwardly as she let go of Grace.
"Am I interrupting something?" Grace said concerned.
"Oh no...You're totally fine...Omar and I just finished lunch...Come on in..." Adrian said kindly and they walked into the kitchen.
"Hello Grace...I'm going to take a nap...I am exhausted from the flight..." Omar said nicely and he went upstairs.
"Are you tired?" Grace said intrigued as she sat down with Adrian.
"A little but I slept on most of the way back...So...I got some steaks and Ricky seemed kind of cranky..." Adrian said worried.
"Heh...Yeah...He can get like that sometimes while he's working...And Ben's also working with him again so...that might be part of it too..." Grace said sweetly.
"True...You don't think that they can't get along because of...Amy, do you?" Adrian said intrigued.
"Don't be ridiculous...Ricky is very happy for them and I am too...We really love each other, Adrian..." Grace said honestly.
"I know but...now that they're back here for over a month...They could get into a fight again...Didn't you see the tension between Ben and Ricky in New York?" Adrian said concerned.
"A fight about what? Amy loves Ben and she always has...I know they had some tension but...they're probably fine now...They are friends..." Grace said seriously.
"You're probably right...What did you get while you were shopping?" Adrian said intrigued.
"Oh...Uh...I got some...Christmas lights...Ricky and I got a tree...A real one..." Grace said nervously.
"Really? Where did you get the lights?" Adrian said suspiciously.
"From...Home Depot...Where else would I get them...Heh..." Grace said awkwardly.
"You're lying...I can tell when you're lying, Grace...Where did you really go?" Adrian said sternly.
"Our high school..." Grace said seriously.
"Why?" Adrian said surprised.
"To...Talk to the counselor about possibly working at med camp next summer..." Grace said seriously.
"But...you already have an internship job..." Adrian said confused.
"I know but...I want to keep my options open in case I don't like working at the clinic..." Grace said sadly.
"Oh...I get it...You want to hook up with another guy at med camp, don't you? I know what keeping your options open means...So the internship Ricky got for you wasn't good enough?" Adrian said sternly.
"Adrian! How can you say that? I do not want to hook up with another guy at med camp...And...I'm really glad Ricky helped get me the internship but...I don't want to have to rely on Ricky to get me a job..." Grace said a little irritated.
"I'm sorry...I shouldn't have said that...I think that you got yourself that job...All Ricky did was turn in the paperwork for you...Besides...the two of you are a team...You can't do everything on your own, Grace...There's nothing wrong with Ricky wanting to help you..." Adrian said honestly.
"You're one to talk...I thought you liked doing everything on your own...Just because I'm a young and attractive woman means that I have to rely on a guy to help me get a job? Ricky practically got me the job...I didn't even have to do an interview because the doctor there knew my Dad..." Grace said stubbornly.
"Heh...I used to like being more independent but Omar helped me realize that I don't have to be like that...I'm not saying that you have to rely on Ricky to get a job but...there's nothing wrong with him helping you...Wait...the doctor knew your dad...Is that why you don't want that internship?" Adrian said seriously.
"You're right about Ricky, Adrian...He did just turn in the paperwork for me...But...I don't want to live in my Dad's shadow...I do want to become a great doctor like him but...I don't want to get jobs because of him...I want to get them because of my hard work...And who I am and who I am going to be..." Grace said sincerely.
"Wow...That's really amazing...But...I think you should do the internship...That's a pretty big deal especially since it's your first official job..." Adrian said kindly.
"I am going to try it...I just don't know if I'll like it..." Grace said concerned.
"I'm sorry...Is this Grace Bowman speaking? I thought you didn't judge anyone or anything until you gave them a chance..." Adrian said sarcastically.
"Ha...Ha...Very funny, Adrian...Thanks for talking me into it..." Grace said sweetly as she smiled.
"That's what I'm here for...Heh...And if you don't like it, then try working at med camp...But...you did lie to Ricky..." Adrian said kindly and then concerned.
"Yeah...Please don't tell him...Oh no...I told Ethan though..." Grace said worried.
"I'm sure he won't be that upset...Just tell him what you told me...Maybe Ethan won't tell him anyway..." Adrian said seriously.
"I will...How's the baby?" Grace said nicely.
"The baby is doing really well...I have a long way to go before he or she is born...I don't know what to name them..." Adrian said smiling as she rubbed her stomach.
"You do have a long time to name them...But...I really like Scarlett for a girl or...Joey for a boy..." Grace said sweetly.
"Yeah...I don't like those names...But that's what you can name your kids...Heh...I really like Orlando or Savannah...We'll figure it out..." Adrian said happily.
A few hours later at Grant High...
"Time's up Ethan...Are you ready to go to the car dealership?" Kathy said intrigued as they walked outside.
"Yeah I am...And I'm going to win..." Ethan said sternly and they got in Kathy's car.
Twenty minutes later Kathy and Ethan arrived at a car dealership and they walked inside.
"Hello...What can I do for you? I'm Bob Seagull..." Bob said kindly.
"Hi Bob...I have a bunch of signatures on a petition to lower car prices..." Ethan said seriously as he took out a box with a thousand signatures in it from his backpack.
"Oh wow...This is very impressive..." Bob said surprised as he opened the box.
"Well...Will you consider lowering your car prices?" Kathy said intrigued.
"I'll tell you what...How about I give you a twenty percent discount on a brand new Chevy car?" Bob said smiling.
"That's all I get? It took me over a week to get all these signatures...There's a thousand of them...Come on Bob...Think about all the money you could be making if you lowered your prices?" Ethan said a little irritated.
"Wow...That's pretty amazing, kid...But I don't think you're qualified to tell me how to run my business..." Bob said honestly.
"And I don't think you're qualified to tell me what I'm qualified to do...The American people have spoken...They want lower prices...Don't you want to help them?" Ethan said firmly as he crossed his arms and Kathy's jaw dropped as she looked at Ethan.
"How about you take an economics class or two and come back in a few years after you graduate college...I have some work to do..." Bob said annoyed.
"No...I didn't come all the way over here to get rejected by some selfish and greedy car salesman who doesn't understand supply and demand...If you lower your prices, then you'll be selling more cars...Which means you'll be making a profit a lot faster and you will be able to buy more cars to keep in stock to sell...Economics isn't that hard...You don't have to lower your prices drastically...Just a little...You're in competition with other car dealerships...They'll lose business if you lower your car prices...Think about it..." Ethan explained firmly.
"Wow...You're a lot smarter than you look...What's your name, kid?" Bob said surprised.
"Ethan...And thank you..." Ethan said kindly.
"Well, Ethan...You do have a good point but it's not always that simple...If there's a low demand for cars...then they won't sell very well because people aren't buying them...Regardless of what the price is...And I also need to have business meetings with my boss about changing prices...It's pretty time consuming..." Bob said seriously.
"I see...Well...Could you at least consider lowering your prices? I made a bet with my friend here...and if you say yes then she'll do my math homework and pay me one hundred dollars..." Ethan said nicely.
"Wow...That's a pretty big bet...How about...I offer you a job instead...You're sixteen right?" Bob said intrigued.
"Uh...Yes...But...why do you want to offer me a job? I don't know anything about cars..." Ethan said confused.
"Heh...It seems like you know a thing or two about the prices of cars though...I could use a smart and young guy like you around here...You could be my assistant...If you want..." Bob said nicely.
"Wow...That's a very kind offer, Bob...But...I just wanted you to lower your prices so that I could afford a car here...I already have a job at a butcher shop..." Ethan said seriously.
"You thought I was serious? You have to be at least eighteen to work here...And pursuing some kind of business degree...And I'm sorry but a few signatures isn't going to change the prices of my cars..." Bob said sternly.
"Oh...Then why did you offer me a job here?" Ethan said confused.
"Because I like messing with people...Now get out of here before I call security..." Bob said annoyed.
"Let's go, Ethan...I'm sorry sir..." Kathy said nicely as she grabbed Ethan's hand.
"All right...At least I tried..." Ethan said in a disappointed tone as he walked out of the car place with Kathy.
"Yeah...I also heard what you said after you talked to Grace...You like her?" Kathy said concerned as they got in her car.
"Heh...Of course not...I just thought that she could like me...Cause she thought that the petition would work...After Margaret said it wouldn't...I guess this means that I lost the bet..." Ethan said honestly.
"Oh...I see...And she's with Ricky anyway so I don't know why you would say that...But...I am proud of you for standing up to Bob...He was a jerk...Let's just forget about him and get going..." Kathy said seriously.
"Yeah...So...do you want to get back together?" Ethan said intrigued as Kathy backed out of her parking spot.
"A bet's a bet...Right?" Kathy said intrigued.
"Right...But...I don't know if I can trust you again..." Ethan said worried.
"You can if you try..." Kathy said nicely.
"I guess...Did you ever ask Ricky that personal question?" Ethan said concerned.
"Oh...I didn't have to ask him anything personal...I just said that to try and distract you from the petition..." Kathy said smiling as she stopped at a stop light.
"Ha ha...You really wanted to win this bet didn't you?" Ethan said as he smirked.
"I sure did." Kathy said sweetly and she leaned in close to Ethan and gave him a short kiss.
Later that night at Jeff's...
"Wow! This is so awesome! You two are engaged! Congratulations!" Omar said excited.
"Thank you! We're so happy! Of course you two are invited to the wedding!" Casey said happily.
"Yeah...It's going to be huge...A lot of our friends from college are coming and family too...This place is really nice...We should come here for the reception, Case." Cappie said kindly.
"Uh...I don't think it's big enough, hun...But I do like it." Casey said nicely.
"So...When is the wedding?" Adrian said intrigued.
"We thought May would be nice...It will be warmer but not too hot." Cappie said seriously.
"That's true...It will be in LA?" Adrian said concerned.
"I think so...We live here now and love the beach..." Cappie said happily.
"Yes...LA is the most beautiful place that we've lived...I liked DC but this is amazing..." Casey said nicely.
"I love LA too...It's hard to believe that we're both so grown up now...It seems like not that long ago when we were in high school...Heh..." Omar said smiling.
"Um...Actually high school feels like a long time ago, Omar...But I know what you mean..." Casey said sweetly.
"Can I get a beer? Where's the waiter?" Cappie said intrigued.
"I thought you were going to cut down on alcohol, Cap...What are you doing?" Casey said a little irritated.
"You're right...I'll just enjoy my nice and boring water with my steak..." Cappie said sarcastically as he cut his steak.
"I apologize...Did you fill out that application, Adrian?" Casey said sincerely.
"You're fine...I did and I have it in my purse...Here you go..." Adrian said kindly as she gave Casey the application.
"Thank you...I'll look at it later...Before I do...Why do you want to be a lawyer?" Casey said nicely and then intrigued.
"I really want to be a lawyer because my Dad inspired me to be one and...I love studying law and I want to make a difference in the lives of the people I defend someday in court..." Adrian said honestly.
"That's really great...At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a lawyer but I'm glad that I am one now...It's a really great job but it's a lot of work." Casey said seriously.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah...Everyone knows that, hun...Could you pass me the salt please?" Cappie said kindly.
"Here you go..." Casey said as she rolled her eyes and handed Cappie the salt.
"Are you two all right?" Omar said worried.
"We're fine Big O...I'm just really hungry..." Cappie said smiling after taking a bite of his steak.
Meanwhile at Ben's house...
"How was work?" Amy said intrigued as Ben walked into the kitchen.
"It was all right...Kind of tiring...How was your day?" Ben said smiling as he sat next to Amy.
"Really nice...I had a good time at the mall with my Mom, John, and Robbie...He's gotten so big since the last time I saw him...And...we need to talk..." Amy said seriously.
"That's good...What do we need to talk about?" Ben said worried.
"About when we're going to get married...I don't want our wedding day to be on Christmas...It's a holiday and I want our wedding to be on another day...That's not a holiday..." Amy said honestly.
"All right...I don't know what I was thinking when I suggested that we get married on Christmas...Heh...We can do it on some other day..." Ben said nicely.
"Thanks Ben...I love you..." Amy said happily and she gave Ben a long kiss.
"I love you too, Amy...Do you want to go upstairs?" Ben said as he smirked.
"I would...But we're not going to do anything, right?" Amy said quietly.
"No...My Dad and Camille are still out but...I don't know when they'll be home or when Chloe will be back..." Ben said seriously.
"Right...Heh...I know you want to wait anyway...Which is really sweet..." Amy said smiling.
"Yeah...But we could do other things...Let's go..." Ben said excited and he walked upstairs with Amy.
A few minutes later Chloe walked in and she went upstairs and knocked on Ben's door.
"Hey Ben...Are Leo and Camille back yet?" Chloe said intrigued as she opened the door.
"Oh...Hey Chloe..." Ben said awkwardly as he buttoned his shirt up.
"Um..Were you two about to?" Chloe said concerned.
"No we weren't...And my Dad and Camille aren't back...How was your date with Jack?" Ben said kindly.
"It was really nice...We went to dinner and ice skating...It's nice to see you again, Amy..." Chloe said nicely.
"You too, Chloe...Good night..." Amy said smiling.
"Oh right...You two want to be left alone...Don't forget to use protection if you are going to do anything...And you might want to lock the door next time...Good night..." Chloe said uncomfortably and she went out of Ben's room.
"That went well..." Amy said sarcastically.
"Don't worry about Chloe...Get back over here..." Ben said quietly as he got on top of Amy and gave her a long kiss after he locked his door.
Meanwhile at Grace's house...
"I'm glad your mom and George let us come over for dinner and a movie while they went out." Ricky said kindly.
"Me too...My Mom makes the best meat loaf and potatoes...Did you like the movie?" Grace said sweetly.
"She sure does and I did like the movie...Of course John fell asleep..." Ricky said smiling as he looked at John sleeping on the floor with a pillow and blanket.
"Aww...He's so cute...Do you want to spend the night since John is fast asleep?" Grace said intrigued.
"Yeah I would...Your bed is really comfy..." Ricky said as he smirked.
"Mmm...It is...What do you want to do with John?" Grace said kindly as she smiled slowly.
"Could he sleep in Tom's old room? He's in the guest house, right?" Ricky said seriously.
"He is...That's a great idea since it's right across from my room...Let's go." Grace said happily as she stood up and Ricky gently picked up John.
After Ricky tucked John in Tom's room he walked into Grace's room and his eyes widened as he looked at Grace wearing a silk and pink night gown with a black tank top under it and short pink shorts.
"Wow...You look really hot..." Ricky said surprised.
"Thank you...I thought I owed you because of the med camp thing..." Grace said honestly as she moved closer to Ricky.
"Oh...You don't have to do that...I think it's a great idea that you keep your options open..." Ricky said as he smirked and put his hands around Grace's waist while she put her arms around his neck.
"Heh...Yeah...I can keep something else open too..." Grace said seductively as she leaned in closer to Ricky.
"Mmm...I know what you mean..." Ricky said quietly and he slowly kissed Grace.
"Ahhh...We should probably close the door..." Grace said relieved as she let go of Ricky.
"You're right...Let's get this party started." Ricky said happily and he closed the door and locked it.
"So...You do want to try the grinding?" Grace said seriously as she laid down on her bed.
"Are you sure that you want to do it?" Ricky said worried as he sat on the bed.
"I would like to but...We shouldn't..." Grace said honestly.
"You're right...It's crazy how bad I want you..." Ricky said kindly.
"Heh...I know...But...how am I any different than other girls you've been with? I'm really no better than they are...Using guys for sex..." Grace said sadly.
"Because I love you...More than I could ever describe...And you've learned from your mistakes, Grace...You're stronger and smarter than any other girl that I've been with because of God...You know that He'll pick you up when you fall and so will I..." Ricky said sincerely as he grabbed Grace's hand.
"Oh, Ricky...I love you more than I could ever describe too...And I will always be here to help you...Thank you for everything..." Grace said happily as she sat up.
"You're welcome...You don't have to compare yourself to anyone else because you're perfect just the way you are...And you don't have to try and seduce me to make up for anything you've done or said." Ricky said honestly.
"Aww! You're perfect how you are too! I'll try not to seduce you so much...Heh...I love you." Grace said sweetly and she leaned in closer to Ricky.
"I love you too." Ricky said kindly and he gave Grace a slow and long kiss.
"Wow...You haven't kissed me like that in a long time..." Grace said surprised as she wiped her mouth.
"I like to switch it up...It makes kissing more exciting...Heh..." Ricky said happily.
"Mmm...That is true...I'm sure there's other ways that you can switch it up." Grace said sweetly as she smirked.
"Heh...Yeah but you'll just have to wait...Let's get some sleep." Ricky said nicely as he snuggled next to Grace.
"Sounds good to me..." Grace said as she turned off her lamp.
"Good night, Grace..." Ricky said sleepily as he closed his eyes.
"Good night Ricky...Sweet dreams." Grace said smiling as she laid her head on Ricky's chest.
