Sorry for the wait guys but I've been writing articles about Peterborough United Football Club on a football (not American football) website. The link to the site is in my profile. I'm looking for some who can draw fan art for me. There are a couple of things I need drawn one of things is Ksher. I have an idea for how he looks I just can't draw very well.

The next morning everyone packed their bags and got ready to leave the Mirage Kingdom. After breakfast all five of them walked out of the Pokémon Centre and said their goodbyes. They exchanged hugs and then Misty, Brock and Leaf walked away from Ash and Salem headed east, both parties waved at each other until they were out of each others sight. Ash was sad to see them go but it didn't affect him like it had done a few months ago. Ash and Salem then started leisurely walking towards the castle to find out what events the King and Queen knew about.

When they got to the main gate the saw that just like yesterday Richard was waiting outside for them. The Guard Captain once again insisted on accompanying them which they didn't argue with as they had no desire to get lost in the castle. As they walked through the halls Ash and Salem were still feeling a bit embarrassed at how the guards would give them a small bow as they walked by. They were both confused when they found that Richard had not led them to the throne room, he had instead brought them to room they hadn't been in before. They looked around the room and were shocked when they saw Kane and his allies stood in front of the King and the Queen. Their arms and legs were chained and several guards were stood in the room with their weapons ready. Before Ash or Salem had a chance to ask Richard what was going on they saw the King stand up.

"I've heard enough. Kane I hereby sentence you to death. You shall finally get what deserve. Do you have anything to say?"

Kane looked at his brother with pure hatred in his eyes.

"Go to hell Charles." he snarled.

Charles shook his head.

"I see that some things never change. Take him away."

A couple of the guards grabbed Kane and dragged him out as he kicked out and yelled several curses at the King and the Queen, his allies did the same as they too were forcibly removed from the room. Gradually the rest of the room filed out until only Ash, Salem, Richard, the King and Queen remained. The King sat back down and rested his head on his hand, he felt his wife place a comforting hand on his shoulder and he gave her a smile then he let out a sigh.

"I'm getting too old for this."

The Queen had a small smile on her face.

"Charles you're only fifty two."

"I know Victoria but I feel more like one hundred and fifty two a days like this."

Charles and Victoria heard footsteps getting closer and looked up to see Ash and Salem looking at them.

"Hello your majesty. I see you finally passed judgement on your brother's fate." Ash said.

Charles sighed again.

"It's something my father should have done years ago. I feel no joy in condemning my brother to death but he must pay for what he has done."

The room went silent as everyone thought about what Charles had said.

"Would you like me to bring the Princess here so she can say farewell to her saviours?" Richard asked finally breaking the silence.

"Actually could you take her to the dining room please?" Victoria replied.

"Of course I can."

Richard gave a quick bow and then left the room.

"So where is your daughter exactly?" Ash asked.

"We didn't want her to be present for the trial so we told her to wait in her room." Charles answered.

"Come on, let's talk in the dining room instead of this dreary place." Victoria said.

Ash and Salem nodded and followed them out of the courtroom. A few minutes later they walked into the dining room where Elizabeth was sat at the table waiting for them but Richard was nowhere to be seen. They all sat down around the table, Ash and Salem looked at the King and Queen waiting for them to say something.

"So I'm guessing that you're both wondering what we were talking about yesterday." Charles started.

Ash and Salem answered with a nod.

"Well there are two events coming up that we know of. The first is a fossil excavation in the desert area to the north where they'll be looking for fossil Pokémon. It starts in a week so if you leave today you'll arrive just outside of the desert area and his home should be nearby. Greg Crump is the archaeologist in charge of the expedition." Charles said.

"Hang on doesn't the desert area to the north have a constant vicious sandstorm that basically blocks anyone from crossing it?" Ash interrupted.

"Actually that's not completely true. There are a couple of weeks every year that the sandstorm isn't raging. We only know this thanks to Greg." Victoria stated.

"I think that sounds like a lot of fun." Salem said.

"Yeah, it'll be great. Maybe this time I can actually find a fossil Pokémon that doesn't want to kill and or eat me." Ash said.

Everyone looked at Ash expecting an explanation, he saw the looks and decided to give them the short version.

"Well I took part in an excavation for fossil Pokémon in Kanto and well it's a long story which ends with me almost becoming Aerodactyl food."

Ash looked at everyone and saw that they were pretty shocked by what he'd just said.

"So what was the other event you know about?" Ash asked in an attempt to change the subject.

The royals could see that Ash didn't want to talk about what happened anymore.

"The other event we know about is some guided tours through Meteor Falls. Apparently that's where Devon Corp tested their new mining equipment which opened up a lot of new areas to explore." Charles said

"That sounds pretty good. I reckon if we go to Fallabor after the expedition we'd get to Meteor Falls in no time." Ash said

"I wouldn't advise that. The route to Fallabor has ash raining down on it. Usually that's fine but at the minute the ash is poisonous. I would recommend you go back to Rustboro and then head north." Victoria interrupted.

"Ok once we win our fourth badge we'll do that." Salem replied.

"Well we hope that you'll enjoy them." Charles said.

"Thank you I'm sure that we will." Ash answered.

Ash looked at his watch and saw that had been here for over an hour now. He sighed sadly as he realised that they would have to leave now if they wanted to get to the expedition on time.

"If we're going to join the expedition we'd better get going." Ash said.

They all got up and Elizabeth tightly hugged Ash and Salem. Charles and Catherine then walked over to Ash and Salem. The young trainers were both unsure about how to really say farewell to royalty so they both went for a handshake but were surprised when they were pulled into hugs. The royals released the young trainers who were about to leave when Richard walked into the room and brought a bag over placing it in front of Ash.

"Before you go we have one more thing for you. You can thank your friend Brock for this." Charles said.

Ash opened the bag and saw it was full of supplies. It was then that he remembered how low on supplies they had gotten since they'd left Slateport. Ash and Salem took out the items and filled their backpacks.

"Thank you, I had completely forgotten about our supplies or rather lack of them." Ash said gratefully.

"It is our pleasure Ash. Now would you allow the four of us to escort you to the outskirts of the Mirage Kingdom?" Victoria said.

Ash and Salem responded with a nod and Richard took the lead slowly leading them out of the castle all the way to the eastern exit. They stopped and Charles, Victoria and Elizabeth embraced them one last time.

"Listen we want you to know that you are always welcome here no matter what." Catherine said.

"Thank you your majesty." Ash and Salem replied.

"Please we don't believe that given all that has happened in the past few days such formality is required. My name is Charles."

"And mine is Victoria."

The young trainers smiled.

"Ok Charles, Victoria, I'm sure me and Ash will be back some day."

"We look forward to your return." Charles said.

Ash and Salem then started walking down the road waving back at Charles, Victoria, Elizabeth and Richard until they were out of sight. Ash and Salem came to the crossroad and after taking one last look back at the Mirage Kingdom they headed north.

The pair only walked for a couple of hours before they found a clearing and decided to stop for lunch. While Ash and Salem were making lunch almost all of the Pokémon were relaxing in the shade provided by the trees. The only exception was Luxray who had been resting but had stopped when he heard a rustling in a nearby bush. Salem saw the agitated state Luxray was in so she stopped helping Ash and walked over to her starter. She knelt next to Luxray and ran her hand along his back but it didn't stop him growling.

"Hey Luxray what's wrong?" Salem asked.

Luxray responded by nodding his head in the direction of the bush.

"Are you saying that there is something in that bush?"

The electric type nodded again and continued growling at the bush.

"Okay use Thunderbolt on that bush."

A bolt of electric shot off of Luxray that landed in the bush making whatever was in it make a small pained cry. A green canine Pokémon with yellow markings then leapt out of the bush and glared angrily at Luxray and Salem. A smile appeared on Salem's face as she looked at the small electric Pokémon.

"Hey it an Electrike. Come on Luxray let's battle and catch it."

A smirk appeared on Luxray's face and he got into a battle stance. The Electrike mimicked the stance and shot a bolt of electricity at Luxray who quickly jumped to the left avoiding the electric attack which scorched the ground where Luxray had been standing.

"Luxray use Fire Fang."

Luxray's mouth became engulfed in flames and he ran at Electrike dodging the Thunderbolt's being shot his way. When Luxray was close to Electrike he snapped jaws shut but found that he had bitten nothing. He looked around trying to find Electrike but couldn't spot him anywhere. Suddenly Luxray felt something land on his back, he looked over his shoulder and saw Electrike who's teeth had turned pitch black. The lion Pokémon tried to shake Electrike off but the smaller electric type managed to stay on and sink his teeth into the back of Luxray's neck. This made Luxray roar in pain and he tried even harder to get Electrike off him but his grip was too tight. Salem looked at Luxray wondering what she could do to help Luxray and finally realised that the only way to get Electrike off would be to hurt Luxray too.

"Hit him with Swift."

A horde of stars appeared around Luxray and then shot into the air, the stars then flew straight down and crashed on to Electrike's and Luxray's backs. Both of the electric types cried out in pain as the stars slashed them. This meant that Electrike lost his grip on Luxray's neck which gave Luxray the opportunity to shake Electrike off of him. The small electric type was sent flying through the air only coming to a stop when he slammed into a tree. Electrike slumped to the ground and appeared to be out cold so Salem readied a Pokéball. She was about to throw the Pokéball at Electrike but stopped when she saw him get back up.

"Finish him off with Quick Attack."

Luxray ran at Electrike as streaks of white flashed off him, the small electric watched as Luxray approached and tried to move but pain was still shooting through his back from when he hit the tree. The pain finally over came him and he collapsed, Luxray stopped in place when he saw the small canine fall and he walked back to Salem. Seeing the unconscious electric type Salem threw the Pokéball in her hand at Electrike. The canine was sucked into the Pokéball and instantly captures, the Pokéball then vanished in a flash of red.

"Awesome we caught an a Electrike!" Salem exclaimed.

Salem knelt next to Luxray and hugged him as he nuzzled her making her giggle as his fur tickled her skin. She released her grip on Luxray and then walked back over to Ash to help finish lunch.

"That was a good catch Salem. If Electrike chooses to evolve then Manetric is a pretty fast and strong Pokémon." Ash said.

"Thanks Ash. I'll have to call Professor Juniper the next time we get somewhere so I can bring Electrike over."

"Actually you might want to call Professor Oak if you want to get Electrike."

"Why?" Salem asked confusedly.

"Well I kinda asked Professor Oak to get Professor Juniper to make him your Professor so that our Pokémon could stay together."

Ash now wasn't quite sure whether doing that had been a good idea as he was unsure how Salem would feel about him doing that without asking first.

"That was a great idea Ash."

Salem hugged Ash and he returned the embrace as he let out a sigh of relief.

"I'm glad that you think so."

They broke the hug and after finishing the lunches for everyone they placed the food filled bowls on the ground. They smiled as they watched their Pokémon devour the food and then quickly ate their own lunch so they could get back on the road. Once lunch was finished the Pokémon were returned and the young trainers left the clearing continuing the journey north.

Six days later Ash and Salem arrived on the south side of the desert early in the morning. They could see the calm desert area in front of them and then they looked around but couldn't spot the house that Charles and Victoria had told them about. After investigating the surrounding area they still could find anything that remotely resembles a house. They both sighed sadly as they had been really looking forward to the excavation.

"Well it doesn't look like there's a house around here." Ash said.

"For all we know dat guy could have moved since Charles and Victoria last saw him." Meowth replied.

"Yeah you could be right Meowth." Ash answered.

"Well if he's not here maybe we should just head towards Lavaridge Town." Salem suggested.

Everyone nodded in agreement and they were about to start walking east when they saw a man carrying a large box walking towards them. On instinct Meowth, Rai and Chu got in front of Ash and Salem just in case the man proved to be hostile. The man stopped a few feet in front of them and placed the box down while smiling at Ash and Salem. Ash looked at the man showing very little emotion and stepped protectively in front of Salem. There was a brief silence while the two sides looked at one another.

"So who are you?" Ash finally asked.

"My name is Greg Crump."

"Hang on a second, you're the archaeologist we were told about?" Salem replied.

"Indeed I am and if I'm not mistaken you are Ash and Salem."

"How did you..?" Ash started.

"The King and Queen of the Mirage Kingdom told me you'd be coming. By the way thank you for everything you did, Charles, Victoria and Elizabeth are like family to me so thanks again for saving them."

Ash and Salem blushed while looking at the ground.

"No problem." they both mumbled.

Greg chuckled at the trainers, he hadn't believed Victoria and Charles when they had told him about how reluctant these two were to take praise but it seems that they hadn't been lying.

"Come on you two we've gotta get out there and join the others."

"Wait I thought the excavation started tomorrow." Ash said.

"Originally it did. However the sandstorm cleared up early so I decided to get out there today. You're just lucky that I forgot my scanner."

Greg then picked up the box and started walking into the desert. Ash and Salem were right behind him and a few minutes later they came to a rocky area where about twenty people were digging with pick axes. The people were occasionally pulling odd shaped rocks out of the ground hoping that they were fossils. Greg placed his box on the ground under a canopy that was also protecting a table, a cool box full of drinks and some extra pickaxes of various sizes.

"We've got plenty of spares so pick a couple and find somewhere to start digging. Just a bit of advice though, stay away from the guy in the blue jacket. His name's Jake and let's just say that he gets a little agitated if someone finds something near him so just avoid him."

Ash and Salem nodded, they then looked at the pile of pick axes and had an idea.

"Everyone come on out." Ash and Salem called.

All of the Pokémon appeared and looked at their trainers.

"Hey guys we're going to be searching for fossils today. If anyone wants to help then raise a limb." Ash said.

"Just remember that you don't have to if you don't want to. If you want to stay in your Pokéballs you can do." Salem added.

They all shook their heads and raised a limb.

"Okay guys anyone who can hold a pickaxe can help us dig to improve their strength. The rest of you can help clear the debris which will also be a good way to improve strength."

Tyrogue, Rai, Heracross, Meowth, Chu, Plusle and Minun chose a pickaxe appropriate for their size. Nincada and Kingler decided not to use the pickaxes, choosing to use their own claws instead. Ash then watched Ralts try and fail to pick up one of the axes. She looked down sadly until she felt her dad pick her up.

"Hey I need you to help clear the debris with your psychic powers. These guys are gonna be a bit slow and they'll need someone to show them how it's done. So do you think you can do that for me?" he whispered.

A cocky look appeared on Ralts' face and she nodded. Ash and Salem smiled as Ralts jumped out of his arms and stepped ahead of all the other Pokémon and alongside Eevee she led them to an untouched area.

"Eevee and Ralts are growing up fast." Salem said.

"Yeah they are." Ash answered with pride.

Ash picked up a pair of pickaxes and handed one to Salem.

"Come on let's go find some fossils." he said.

Salem nodded and followed Ash over to their Pokémon who had already started digging. They started working alongside their Pokémon and watched as Ralts, Butterfree, Meowstic and both of the Togetic used their psychic abilities to lift the debris. The rocks were then placed on the backs of the others who carried the rubble away.

After an hour nobody had found anything other than rocks and everyone was starting to feel the effects of working in the hot sun. Almost everyone had decided to take a break and rest in the shade whilst having a drink. The only exceptions were Tyrogue, Kingler, Heracross, Ash, Luxray and Butterfree. The former four were still digging while Luxray and Butterfree kept the area clear of rubble.

Ash suddenly saw another pickaxe a couple of metres away from him. He knew that it was Jake who had been gradually getting closer and closer over the past hour. Ash blocked him out and continued digging, a few rocks then fell away and revealed a grey coloured oval shaped object that stood out from the sandy coloured rocks that surrounded it. Ash picked the object up and looked all around it seeing four lightning bolt like markings that ran from the top to the bottom of it.

"Is this what I think it is? Could this really be a fossilised egg?" Ash murmured

Ash looked around and when he was sure that no one was watching he he took out his Pokénav and activated the fossil upgrade Mr Stone had given him. He then scanned it hoping that it was what he though. After a minute the Pokénav stopped scanning it. Ash selected the results option so he could find out what it was.

"This is a fossilised egg containing the Pokémon Raimodo." the Pokénav stated.

Ash cocked his head slightly and a confused look appeared on his face as he'd never heard of a Raimodo.

"What the hell is a Raimodo ?"

Heracross, Tyrogue and Kingler shrugged.

"I guess we'll just have to see if the Pokédex has any data on Raimodo."

Ash put his Pokénav away and took out his Pokédex putting the name Raimodo into the search option.

"Raimodo, the electric lizard Pokémon. Raimodo stores electricity in the spines down its back which glow golden yellow when fully charged. It can channel the stored electricity to its legs, tail or head allowing it to shoot bolts of electricity in any direction. Its speciality move is Thunder Whip."

Before Ash had time to look at any more details about Raimodo a very annoyed Jake appeared in view.

"Give me that fossil." Jake demanded.

"Go and find your own you lazy git." Ash replied.

The boy growled angrily, he then smirked when he spotted the trio of Pokémon stood next to Ash.

"You look like the kind of person who'd be up for a battle. How about we have a battle? If I win I get that Raimodo thing."

"Okay so what do I get when I win?"

Jake's eye twitched at Ash's cocky response. He then opened his bag and took something amber coloured out.

"You can have this weird fossil that I found."

Ash knew what that fossil was. It was an Old Amber, memories of his encounter with the Pokémon inside that fossil came to mind. He shook the memory away knowing that this Aerodactyl would not be one that was pissed off at being awoken from its slumber.

"Deal. Hey Kingler you up for a battle?"

Kingler nodded and got ready to battle. Jake smirked as he took a Pokéball out of his bag.

"Go Ampharos."

An Ampharos burst from the Pokéball and landed on the ground in front of Kingler.

"Do you think that type advantage will ensure your victory?" Ash asked.

"Yeah it will. In fact this'll be over in one attack. Ampharos use Thunderbolt."

"Counter it with Mud Shot."

Ampharos fired a bolt of electricity that shot straight at Kingler. The pincer Pokémon quickly responded by opening his mouth and fired several small balls of mud at the bolt of thunder. The electricity cut through the first few balls of mud but was stopped by the rest which then flew at Ampharos. The electric type tried to dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge the balls of mud however one of them slammed into his face sending Ampharos sprawling. Ampharos growled angrily and wiped the mud off of his face as he got too his feet.

"Focus Blast."

"Dodge it a and use Crabhammer."

A blue orb formed in Ampharos' mouth which gradually grew in size. When the attack was fully charged Ampharos launched the orb that rocketed at Kingler. The crab was forced to leap in the air to avoid the orb that crashed into the ground creating a small crater. As Kingler descended his larger claw glowed white and was surrounded in water.

"Quick match him with Thunder Punch and use Signal Beam."

Kingler swung his claw at Ampharos and was met by a fist that was crackling with electricity. A white orb then formed in front of the gem stone on Ampharos' head. A rainbow coloured beam then shot from the orb and blasted Kingler sending him flying through the air. Kingler finally crashed to the ground in front of Ash but he managed to get back up.

"Finish him off with one more Thunder Punch."

Ampharos channelled electricity into his arm again and he charged at Kingler. Ash started looking around for something he could do to stop the attack. He spotted the rubble surrounding Kingler from when he crashed to the ground and had an idea.

"Use Rock Slide with the rubble around you. Then follow up with another Crabhammer."

Kingler quickly swiped his claws around gathering all of the rubble around him and threw the rocks at Ampharos. As he saw the rocks headed his way Ampharos stopped and crossed his arms in front of him to block the rocks. Kingler saw this as his opportunity and his larger claw was surrounded in water again as he charged at Ampharos. The electric type no longer felt the rocks pelting him and opened his eyes just in time to see Kingler's claw headed straight at him. The claw slammed into Ampharos' head and force behind the attack caused him to stagger back as he tried to recover.

"Hold him in place with Vice Grip then finish it with Hyper Beam."

"Discharge!"

Kingler quickly leapt at Ampharos and closed his smaller claw around Ampharos' shoulders pinning his arms to his side. He then raised his larger claw in front of the electric type and started forming an orange orb in the claw. Ampharos' eyes widened as he saw the orange orb making him struggle to get free but gave up when he found that he couldn't move and just released a large amount of electricity. The Discharge shocked Kingler badly making it difficult for him to focus on charging the Hyper Beam however he was able to fully charge the attack and fired an orange beam from the orb at point blank range. The explosion caused by the attack temporarily shrouded both Pokémon in a thick black smoke. As the smoke cleared it revealed an unconscious Ampharos and a barely conscious Kingler.

Ash walked over to Kingler and hugged him like he had when he had won in the Indigo League, Kingler wrapped a claw around Ash in response and then passed out. Ash returned Kingler so he could have a rest and placed the Pokéball on his belt. He then walked over to Jake as he returned Ampharos.

"I won the battle. Now hand over the Old Amber." Ash said.

"I-it's not over. I meant a three vs three match so it's not over." Jake replied.

Ash was starting to get annoyed but he'd humour Jake.

"Fine, let's make this a two on two battle then. Heracross, Tyrogue you're up."

The fighting types gave a quick nod and then took their place on the makeshift battlefield. Jake looked at Heracross and Tyrogue as he placed Ampharos' Pokéball in his bag. He took two new ones out and threw them.

"Go Fearow and Houndour."

Jake's Pokémon appeared and smirked when they saw the Heracross and Tyrogue stood opposite them.

"Fearow use Drill Peck on Tyrogue and Houndour use Flamethrower on Heracross."

"Heracross match Fearow with Megahorn then use Focus Punch and Tyrogue hit Houndour with a Mach Punch."

Fearow's beak appeared to sharpen and then glowed white as he flew at Tyrogue aiming for the smaller fighting types head. At the same time Houndour opened his mouth and shot an intense burst of flames at Heracross. The beetle quickly flew into the air, dodging the flames and he charged at Fearow as his horn glowed green. Seconds later Fearow's beak met Heracross' horn and the attacks seemed evenly matched however due to type advantage it seemed that Fearow was having to use less energy to sustain the attack. Heracross could feel himself being gradually overpowered by Fearow so he focussed his energy into his fist which glowed white. He then drove his fist into Fearow's stomach sending him flying away, the flying type quickly recovered though and charged at Heracross who only just managed to dodge the attack. The beetle and the flying type exchanged blows with the former dishing out more damage.

While Fearow and Heracross battled in the air Tyrogue ran at Houndour and punched the canine in the face making him let out a pained yelp as he collapsed. Tyrogue was certain that was enough to put the dog down so he lowered his guard. This allowed Houndour got back up and bit down hard in Tyrogue's right arm drawing a pained cry from him.

"Take him down with Low Kick then another Mach Punch."

Tyrogue kicked at Houndour's left foreleg which forced the canine to release his grip on Tyrogue's arm as he regained his balance. Tyrogue then drove his fist into Houndour's face again which made him collapsed again. Tyrogue wasn't going to make the same mistake twice so he drove his foot into Houndour's stomach sending him skidding back to Jake. Moments later Fearow crashed to the ground landing inches away from Houndour. Both Houndour and Fearow managed to get back up however the former was standing on wobbly legs and the latter was unable to get back in the air.

"Let's finish this. Heracross hit Fearow with one more Focus Punch and Tyrogue put all of your strength into a Tackle."

Heracross' right fist glowed white again and he flew straight down at Fearow who could see the bug heading towards him. Fearow desperately tried to move out of the way but without the ability to fly his mobility was severely hindered so he had no chance to dodge Heracross' fist which slammed down on his back. The force behind the punch drove Fearow into the ground and he was buried in rubble. At the same time Tyrogue ran as fast as he could at Houndour and rammed into him using all of his strength. Houndour was sent flying and he crashed into the rocks knocking him out. Heracross then dragged Fearow who was also unconscious out of the rubble and dumped him in front of Jake.

Ash walked over to Jake who was staring at Fearow and Houndour.

"This time you have no excuses Jake. Give me the Old Amber." Ash demanded.

Jake didn't respond to Ash and just continued to stare at his Pokémon. Ash could see that Jake wasn't paying any attention to him so he took the Old Amber out of Jake's bag and placed it in his own. He walked over to Heracross and Tyrogue who were looking cockily at Fearow and Houndour.

"Great job guys. I'm proud of you" Ash said.

Heracross and Tyrogue nodded and shared a fist bump, suddenly a white light radiated off of the smaller fighting type forcing Ash and Heracross to shield their eyes. When the light died down Ash and Heracross saw that a Hitmontop was now stood where Tyrogue had been. Hitmontop jumped on to his head and started spinning on his spike as he let out a happy cheer at evolving. The newly evolved fighting type eventually stopped spinning and alongside Heracross he followed Ash back to the canopy. All of the Pokémon were quick to congratulate Hitmontop on evolving while Ash got a drink out of the cool box and downed the bottle of water in one. Ash placed the empty bottle in a rubbish bag and walked over to Salem who was holding something in her arms.

"Hey Salem what have you got there?"

"This is a fossil I dug up."

Salem showed Ash the fossil, he quickly examined the fossil and could easily tell that it was a Sail fossil.

"When did you find that Sail fossil?"

"Well while you had your battle the rest of us started digging near where Jake started and I found this."

"That was a good find. Aurorus is a very good Pokémon."

Salem smiled at Ash and held the Sail fossil out to Ash.

"I'm sure it will be a great Pokémon, for you."

"Wait don't you want it?"

"Well you traded one of your Tauros for Mareep and I owe you a birthday present as well. So let's call this even."

Ash smiled and gently pressed his lips to Salem's making both young trainers blush. When they broke apart Ash took the Sail fossil from Salem and then hugged her.

"Thank you." Ash said.

Salem smiled and returned the embrace.

"Your welcome." Salem replied.

Ash opened his bag with the intention of placing the Sail fossil in with the Old Amber and the Raimodo egg but found that there wasn't any room left. He closed his bag and held the Sail fossil in his arms as he pondered what to do now.

"Ash what's wrong?" Salem asked.

"The thing is that I haven't got any room left in my bag which means that I'll have to carry the Sail fossil until we get back to Rustboro. Also the two in my bag are pretty heavy too."

"I think I have a solution to your problem."

Ash and Salem turned around and saw Greg smiling at them.

"Really?" Ash said.

"Yes, if you'll follow me back to my home I should have a way to help you out."

"Okay thanks." Ash replied.

The young trainers returned their Pokémon and then followed Greg who had started walking away from the excavation site.

Notes

Before anyone starts moaning about the impossibility of a fossilised egg I'm just going to say that 1. This is fanfiction where regular rules of nature don't apply and 2. This is Pokémon fanfiction so anything could be possible.

I was only going to give Ash 2 fossils but then I came up with the idea for Raimodo and I just had to add it.

Here's a challenge guys. Can any of you guess why I named him Raimodo? I'll give you a shout out in the next chapter if you get it right.

Also I made a reference to a movie in this chapter so if you can tell me what the movie was I'll give you a shout out next chapter.
