Fury in the middle of a perfectly normal house kitchen was a sight I never thought I'd see, sitting with my legs crossed next to Bruce drinking out of a child's plastic cup around a dining room table, "Ultron too you folks out of play to buy himself time. My contacts say he's building something. With the amount of vibranium he made out with I don't think it's just one thing."

Steve was leaning back in his chair, "What about Ultron himself?"

Fury almost laughed, "He's easy to track, he's multiplying faster than a catholic rabbit."

Tony was playing darts in the corner and his frustration had cooled a little, "He still going after nuclear codes?"

Fury shrugged, "Yeah but he's not making any head way though."

I had to laugh, "Are you kidding, I cracked the pentagon's firewall in high school on a dare."

Fury glared at me with humor, "Yes well, I've talked to our friends at the NEXUS about you."

"NEXUS?" Steve asked leaning forward to brace his arms on the table.

Bruce answered, "IT is the world internet hub in Oslo, every byte of data flows through there, fastest access on earth."

"But if he's gotten to NEXUS, what's stopping him?"

Fury tilted his head, "Sources say the codes are constantly being changed by parties unknown."

Natasha smiled, "Is it an ally?"

"We'd have to visit Olso, maybe find our unknown party." Tony remarked from the dart board.

Nastasha sighed, "Well, this is good times, boss, but I was kind of hoping when I saw you, you'd have more than that." Her nailed tapped against the table.

Fury nodded and I could see the tiredness in his eyes, "I do, I have you. Back in the day, I had eyes everywhere, ears everywhere else. Here we all are, back on earth, with nothing but our wit, and our will to save the world. So stand. Outwit the platinum bastard."

I smiled, "Careful, Steve doesn't like that impure talk."

Steve looked at me harshly but softened when I winked, "I hate you sometimes."

"I mean, Ultron will create an army with this time. He wants to create a better race than us. Ultron wants us to evolve." I hated the thought, the idea that Jarvis died over that thing.

Bruce's head shot up, "Has anyone been in touch with Helen Cho?" Shit. The thought hadn't even crossed my mind but with the addition of human skin, Ultron would get his ideal image.

"Stark, come in. Stark. Anyone on comms?"

"Yeah Steve, cradle's at the tower." I replied smoothly.

"DO NOT LET TONY OPEN IT!" I flinched at the shout and coughed lowly as I strode after Clint with the cradle being wheeled in front of us. Bruce brightened at the sight of us and I reminded myself how sweet of a person he was.

"This is sealed tight." Clint remarked as the four of us gathered around it.

Bruce examined it momentarily, "We are going to have to access the program, break it down from within."

Tony only eyed Clint, "Yeah. Anyway Natasha might leave you a message, outside the internet. Old school spy stuff."

Clint looked at each of us carefully before nodding to me, "Yeah. I have some nets to cast. I'll find her." He walked off and I knew I was in charge of babysitting my brother.

Bruce began, "I can work on tissue degradation, if you can fry whatever operational system Cho implanted?" He looked at me and I nodded quickly going to the nearest screen.

Tony kicked the floor, pointedly not moving, "Yeah, about that."

I turned on my heel quickly, "No way. It's done, it's over. I don't want two forces to have to fight."

He held up his hands, "You got to trust me."

I laughed as a reply and ran my hand through my hand, "Seriously?"

Tony point at me, "Our ally? The guy constantly changing the nuclear codes? Found him."

A familiar system popped up, a consciousness in and of itself with neurons and connections and so much of my fingerprints all over, "Hello Miss Stark, Dr. Banner." The smile that consumed my face was unstoppable and if I wasn't still peeved at Tony in the first place I would've hugged him.

Tone moved around me, "Ultron didn't go after Jarvis cause he was angry, he attacked him because he was scared of what he could do. So Jarvis went underground. He scattered and dumped his memory but not his protocols. He didn't even know he was in there, until I pieced him together." My Jarvis, back and functional.

Bruce spoke for me, coming to stand behind me, a supporting hand on my waist, "So you want us to help you put Jarvis into this thing?"

Tony laughed a forced thing, "No, of course not! I want to help you put JARVIS in this thing." Bruce was shaking his head and I was still staring at my prized work, "I'm way out of my field here. You know bio-organics better than anyone."

"And you assume that Jarvis' operational matrix can beat Ultron's?" Bruce asked, disbelieving and everything clicked for me.

"Yes." I spoke without hesitation and looked at Bruce, "Yes I think it can. Especially if he has been beating him from the inside out without even knowing it." Tony's smile grew.

Jarvis replied, "I believe it's worth a go."

Bruce stared at me in shock, "No, no, hun, this is a time loop. This is exactly where it all went wrong. Jen, you can't actually consider-"

Tony brushed Bruce's shoulder, "I know, I know. I know what everyone's going to say, but they're already saying it. We're mad scientists. We're monsters, buddy. You gotta own it. Make a stand." Bruce moved away from us and took his glasses off to pinch the bridge of his nose, "It's not a loop. It's the end of the line."

I could only look between the two men who meant everything to me and I was hit for not the first time recently how out of my depth I was, and how much things may have been better without interference, "Please? Till the end of the line?"

Bruce sighed before replacing his glasses on, and nodded, "Fine. You two will be the death of me."

"Jay you having any luck?"

"No the framework just isn't convertible."

"You guys have to get it uploaded in three minutes we are at 97% complete."

The footsteps of Steve and two unknowns came into my perception and I was already tense for a fight, "Don't even mention it Steve-"

"I'm only going to say this once-" He began.

"How about nonce?" Tone shot back while I continued to type furiously to fit the Jarvis schematic to Ultrons specifications.

"Shut it down! Jenny I told you!"

I refused to look in his direction, "Trust me Steve, if I didn't think it would work I wouldn't do it."

He moved towards me and I saw the freak wonder twins and spooked a shade with wide eyes before continuing, "You don't know what you're doing."

Bruce shot back from across the room, "And you do? She's not in your head?"

The red head young girl held up innocent hands, "I know you're angry."

Bruce laughed sardonically and I almost smiled remembering he does have a side saved for wrath not anger, "Oh, we are way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade."

Steve looked between them, "Banner- Stark, after everything that's happened-"

I got the schematic uploaded and released a breath sitting back as it gave a full green bar, "That's nothing compared to what's coming!" Tony was shouting.

"You don't know whats in there!" The girl shouted back and I glared.

"Excuse me? You're seventeen with a GED. I know better than you." She looked taken back at my harsh words and I almost felt bad.

Steve stepped between us, "This isn't a game Jen-"

"I'm not playing!"

A force barreled around the room as the computer showed 99% and the wires flew, destruction in it's path and before I could get a hand on it, a blonde man stopped running and glared at us, "No, no, go one. You were saying?"

Fortunately, an arrow went up through the glass, shattering it and the man went falling to the next floor where Clint was smirking. The computers were beginning to beep and I looked into the cradle, fogged with heat.

"I'm rerouting the upload."

I turned in time to see Cap take aim and I had a choice, and I made it. The shield barely got two feet before I reached up and grabbed it. Tony called a hand to come to his, the energy beam prepared at the noise while I held the shield with my eyes narrowed at Steve who came barreling as if to get to Tony.

"I'm sorry," I muttered under my breath as I took off to intercept, the shield breaking his stride, sending him into a wall while my heart rate increased. I took one punch before ducking and cutting him down at his legs.

In the corner of my eye I saw the girl, Wanda, begin to glow with red in my direction before being grabbed by Bruce, "Go ahead, piss me off."

Tony shot a blast in my direction and it managed to blast the place Steve and the shield met, sending us both flying.

Wanda sent whatever the fuck magic she held into Bruce pushing him back. I barely stood back up breathing heavily and eyeing Steve, unpracticed arms holding his shield, "Don't do this."

Thor rushed in, sliding on the floor, giving everyone pause as without hesitation he leapt atop the cradle and brought lightening down upon it with a loud crack.

"Wait!" Bruce shouted as we all were eyeing the energy, would it electrocute or provide the needed energy for life?

The screen closest read energy overload and I looked to Steve who looked less interested in fighting now.

Thor's lightening retreated and we all watched in anticipation as he stood back up straight on the cradle.

And then it exploded. The pieces came apart and sent Thor flying. Tony took behind a cabinet while Steve and Bruce watched in amazement. I was half crouched, prepared to attack or to straighten, but I handed the shield back to Cap silently neither of us looking at each other.

A form rose out of the cradle, red and deep grey, a man. A yellow glowing stone in his forehead and eyes that matched. He seemed to survey the landscape but once his eyes landed on Thor, he launched himself at the god, seemingly flying through the air.

Thor effortlessly tossed the thing behind him and at the window of the tower. Before he hit however, the figure paused, stopping his motion, floating in the center of the window, looking out at the city.

Steve jumped down, ready to provide back up, while I watched, moving towards the stairs to use instead. Something deep inside me told me this thing was not hostile. The schematic upload was complete. And this was something else.

Bruce joined me at the bottom of the stairs, suspiciously eyeing the twins, while I could only stare at the red and deep grey. He turned from the window, his features extremely human-like in confusion, his eyes betraying the emotion as he floated down to Thor who rested his hammer on the coffee table.

"I'm sorry," The man began looking first to Thor, "That was odd. Thank you." I knew the voice.

Steve immediately asked, "Thor, you helped create this?"

Thor began as the man, robot, Jarvis, whatever imitated his cape with a yellow one of his own, "I had a vision of a glowing whirlpool of destruction and at it's center is that." He pointed to the gem on the thing's forehead.

"The gem?" Bruce asked as I moved slowly to eye the thing, the cape extending from the shoulders, making and growing upon itself.

"It's the Mind Stone. It's one of the six Infinity Stones, the greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities."

I smiled, "Right, we deal with those every day."

Steve glared at my sarcasm even as I smiled, "Then why would we bring it to-"

Thor cut him off, "Because Stark is right."

Bruce met my eye, "Then it's definitely the end times."

"The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron."

The thing spoke, "Not alone." He seemed to survey them all individually before turning to look at me, still eyeing the grown cape critically. When I looked at him, the voice and everything, I wanted a spark of recognition. Even he stared back at me, I don't know if I got it or not.

Steve was speaking, "Why does your "vision" sound like Jarvis?"

Tony spoke next, "Because we reconfigured Jarvis to create something new." I smiling as I knew the system would recognize me, but the consciousness certainly wouldn't. And that was okay, I had handled the loss once. This was okay now at least.

"I've had my fill of new."

Vision snapped to look at Steve, "You think I am a child of Ultron?"

"You're not?"

Vision shook his head slowly, "I am not Ultron, I am not Jarvis," He looked to me as he said it, "I am… I am."

Wanda Maximoff spoke from the side, "I looked in your head and saw annihilation."

"Look again." He challenged.

Clint shrugged from the side, arrow ready, "Her seal of approval means jack to me."

Thor raised his hands in a calming fashion, or as calming as Thor manages, "Their powers, the horrors in our heads, Ultron himself, they all came from the Mind Stone, and they're nothing compared to what it can unleash. But with it on our side..."

"Is it? Are you? On our side?"

Vision seemed more confused by the question, "I don't think it's that simple…"

Clint's frustration was showing, "Well it better start getting simple real soon."

"I am on the side of life. Ultron isn't, he will end it all."

"What's he waiting for?" Tony asked crossing his arms.

"You." Vision appeared to be hella knowledgeable considering he was actually born ten minutes ago.

"Where?" I asked next.

Clint answered instead of Vision, "Sokavia. He's got Nat there too."

"If we're wrong about you, if you're the monster that Ultron made you out to be-"

I cut him off, "If we just created a monster of Ultron with the power of this so called infinity stone, I would take a guess that life on Earth would be seconds away from extinction and he wouldn't have seen so enamored with the big city lights."

Vision looked at me with something akin to appreciation but also sorrow, "Maybe I am a monster. I don't think I'd know if I were one. I'm not what you are, and not what you intended. So there may be no way to make you trust me. But we need to go." With that he reached down the pick up Thor's hammer on the table and hand it to Thor without even a struggle before walking right past him.

Thor just smiled and patted Tony on the back, "Well done." He smiled back to me who could only smile back. I helped make that. Let's hope he lives up to his predecessor.

Steve looked to us all, "Three minutes, get what you need." When the group broke I sped walked to catch him.

"I'm sorry."

He looked at me with a soft smile, "Promise no grudges?"

"I promise." I broke off to get my things, all of them. Not only mechanical bit could be left for Ultron to escape from. Every death had to come to him and quickly.
