Chapter 300

Faith wasn't sure why Anne wanted to see her. President Wilkins briefed her on what she had to do with the delegation coming to California. She feared Anne would pass judgement, even if she didn't know why. Given this shelter's status as a reliable sanctuary Faith wanted to keep Anne as an ally, so she went.

Faith: What did you want to see me about?

Anne: I just wanted to let you know it's not too late. You can still change if you want.

Faith: You mean become a born-again like you?

Anne: Maybe. This life of sin you lead, does it really make you happy?

Faith: I have money, power, freedom. Better than you've ever had.

Anne: You have more money than I did. I was a whore and a thief, you have anger issues. But Christ forgave me, he can forgive you too.

Faith: What makes you think I need forgiveness?

Anne: We're all sinners in need of forgiveness.

Faith: I already have an older man who loves and nurtures me.

Anne: Wilkins is more charming than the pimps who used me, but he still manipulated a vulnerable young woman into doing his evil bidding.

Faith: That's what the Watchers did. They used me, they were the ones who abandoned me, same as my mother.

Anne: You've been used and betrayed by a lot of people, but you can still escape your sin and despair.

Faith: Who says I want to "escape?" Maybe I like my life.

Anne: Maybe you do, but the door is always open to you. Whatever you've done, Christ will never turn his back on you. No strings attatched.

Faith: In my experience the guy who says "No strings attatched" is the guy pulling them. What do you really want

Anne: To lead others to Chist. I see myself in you. If I deserved a second chance, so do you. You change you're mind, you're always welcome in my home.
