This chapter is dedicated to Wellington the best friend I've ever had. It's almost been a year and I still miss you everyday. I hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas.

Anastasia's POV:

I took last week off for the trial and today is my first day back. Charlie meets me in front of my office with my tea.

"Anastasia, congratulations." She hands me my tea with a smile. The verdict has been all over the paper and internet.

"Thank you. Can you come into my office so we can go over my schedule?"

We talk about my upcoming week and I make sure she puts my appointment with Dr Greene in my calendar She asks me about last week and I tell her all about it. We are interrupted when there's a knock at my door. It must be my first appointment with the author, Jason Schubert.

"Jason." I say opening the door.

"Ana, you're looking wonderful as ever." I blush and gesture for him to take a seat. I love Jason; he's such a flirt even though he's 70. He's written a beautiful novel and we are in our final weeks before his release date.

"I read your book and I must say it was great." He says with a smile.

"Well thank you."

We discuss the book covers he has in mind and finally pick one of the six options. Once he's gone, I e-mail Christian.

When will you realize that? Change... see if we're compatible to share a responsibility. I expect a grand over the top proposal. ;)

P.S. I'm kidding about the proposal.

I head upstairs to the conference room for my meeting with Roach, Elizabeth, and all the editors. The meeting drags on way longer than expected. By the time we're done it's time to go home. I check my e-mail before leaving.

I shut off my computer and head downstairs to the car park. Christian lent me his Audi 4x4 to drive to work in. Sawyer has taken the other one and it waiting for me in the garage.

"Sawyer." I nod

"Ana." I climb in and pull out of the car park towards Escala. Sawyer and I ride up in the elevator together and we hear a commotion when the doors open. What the fuck is going on? Sawyer follows me into the main hall and we follow the voices to my office. From what I can tell Christian and Taylor are yelling at each other. Neither one of them sounds angry they just sound frustrated.

I look over at Sawyer to shrugs as if he has no idea what's going on. Sawyer and I open the door and see Christian and Taylor chasing around a little puppy.

"Christian, what is that?" I ask and it startles him.

"A puppy." Duh.

"Why is there a puppy in here?" The little dog stops what he's doing and stares at me. He looks so cute with that little bow wrapped around his neck.

"You said we needed to share a responsibility so, I went to the animal shelter to ask some questions and well one thing lead to another. I saw the dog and had to buy it."

"So this is ours?"

"Yes."

"No fooling? Once I hug it, you can't go back on what you've decided."

"Go ahead." I get low to the ground and the puppy charges at me full speed ahead and runs right into my legs. I pick him up and he nuzzles into my neck.

"You are so cute aren't you? You are going to be my new best friend. You are beautiful." the dog starts attacking my face with kisses.

"You're a Sheppard mix aren't you? You are beautiful. I'll love you forever and ever." I look up and everyone is staring at me.

"What?" I snap at them.

"It's nothing. The dog hasn't calmed down since we got him, but he seems pretty happy in your arms." Taylor says frustrated.

"That's because he loves me."

"I'm glad I'm not the only one who talked to him like that." Christian mutters and we all laugh. I can't believe Christian bought a dog; that's so unlike him. I run over to him still holding the dog and give him a hug, which is interrupted when the dog starts licking Christian's face.

"So, what's his name?" We both sit down on the carpet and he starts running in circles around us.

"He doesn't have one. He was found on the side of the road about a week ago. They said there were signs of abuse and he was very malnourished." Christian lets out a sigh.

"What do you want to name him?"

"I was thinking Max."

"I think that's been overdone, Christian."

"What do you think?"

"Hmmm..." I pause and take a good look at him "What about Wellington?" He runs over to me and nuzzles into my lap.

"I think he likes it, what about you?"

"I love it, Angel."

I don't think this day could get any better.

"Did you pick his supplies?"

"Just some food."

"Maybe we should go to a pet store and get Wellington some things."

"I think that's a great idea. I'll drive." Christian says with a smile.

We put on his ratted leash and head down to the car. Once we're inside Christian starts the car and we pull outside.

"I never in a million years thought I would buy a dog." Christian shakes his head in disbelief.

"Well now we have a beautiful puppy don't we."

"You really love animals, don't you?"

"Ever since I was a kid." It's short ride to the pet store and we make a list of things we need: toys, treats, food, collar, leash, bed and crate.

We have everything but the bed and toys. Christian has picked up way too much stuff. Just because he has the money doesn't mean he should spend it like this. I roll my eyes as his picks up more dog treats.

"I saw that."

"I don't care." He walks right behind me and playfully spanks me. We turn into the toy aisle and Wellington grabs any toy he can reach. It looks like we have to buy these. Christian starts laughing as I scramble to pick up the toys and hold Wellington at the same time. I finally get everything into the basket and we head to the check out.

When we walk out of the store, Wellington already has a squeaky toy in his mouth. We ride back to Escala and feed Wellington. I've pulled out my Macbook and we're researching the breed. They are highly energetic dogs so it's a good thing Christian and I run.

I think Christian is rather happy after he reads they are very loyal and protective of their families. Gail has made up steak, potatoes and tomato salad for dinner. She happily takes Wellington while were eating. Everyone is going to love this dog.

"Have you ever had a dog before?" I ask Christian before taking a bite of my steak.

"Never" He is shaking his head in disbelief again. "What about you?"

"When I was younger, I'd pick up strays, but neither of my parents we fans."

"Well Wellington seems very happy with you."

"And you. Maybe we should go for a walk when we're done eating."

"Taylor can do that."

"I want to walk him, Christian. We are supposed to be sharing this responsibility."

"Alright we can take him out after we eat." I don't think Christian really thinks out things before he does them. I decide to call the vet and make an appointment to make sure everything's alright with him. Christian and I head upstairs and it's adorable watching Wellington try and get up them. We give up and Christian picks up Wellington and carries him up the stairs.

"Do you want to go for a run or a walk?" I ask since I haven't worked out it a long time.

"I wouldn't mind going for a run if you're up for it."

"Perfect."

I put on my Lululemon running outfit leggings, base runner long sleeve, and vest with my running shoes. I turn around and see Christian playing on the floor with Wellington in his fitted white long sleeve running shirt with compression pants and short over top. Damn!

"Ready?" He asks with a smirk.

"You look mighty fine, Mr Grey." I pull him in for a kiss and Wellington is barking and scratching our legs.

"I think the little guy has to go out." Christian says as he pulls away from me.

Christian briefly talks to Taylor while I get the dog's leash sorted out. When Christian comes back, I'm stretching. I go into a downward facing dog stretch and can feel Christian staring at my ass.

"I don't think I could do that." Christian mutters.

"It's easy."

"It looks uncomfortable." As he says that I get into pigeon pose.

"That I definitely couldn't do." I switch sides and he looks impressed.

"Finally something I can do that you can't." I say with a smile. "Do you want to see something really impressive?" Christian nods so I go into a one-legged inverted staff pose.

"I must say, Ana, I am impressed." I stand up straight and pick up the leash. "You ready?"

"I was enjoying the view, but we should go." We ride down the elevator and start jogging before we pick up the pace. After twenty minutes pass we stop by a park and catch our breath.

"Wanna race back?" I ask. I'm a very competitive person.

"Why not? Do you want to make a bet?"

"Sure what did you have in mind?"

"If I win, I get to pick anywhere in the house where I want to fuck you; and if you win, you get to pick."

"You're on." We get lined up side by side and count down from three.

"Three. Two. One. Go!" What Christian doesn't know is that I ran track during high school. We are evenly matched at first, but I am able to get a head. Christian catches up to me so I run faster and pull a head. I almost miss the building. Once I am in the lobby, I pace and try to catch my breath. Christian doesn't look happy.

"How. Did. You. Do. That." He says between breaths.

"I ran track." I say once my breathing has gone back to normal.

"You don't play fair, Miss Steele."

"I never said I did." We shower together once upstairs. When we get out Christian ask "Have you picked the spot?"

"Yes I have, but first where were you going to pick?"

"The billiard table."

"You have a billiards table?" I guess I still haven't seen everything in here.

"Yes I do."

"The billiards table sounds fun, but I was thinking of the piano."
