Chapter 310
Growing up Conner had always eaten Sunday dinner with Daniel and Justine Holtz. No matter what happenned that was their family tradition. Since leaving he'd missed these, but had often eaten with Darla and/or Angel. But on Sunday March 3rd was a first. At Anne's shelter all five of them ate together. The four parents all wanted what was best for Conner, but they didn't like each other. They couldn't talk about the past, that brought up too many bad memories. Talking about the future meant bringing up the possibility of them killing each other. So for the most part the five of them just sat there in uncomfortable silence. Conner had no doubt that without Lorne's spell this evening would involve violence. Conner was uncomfortable, his parent hated each other, and this place seemed oddly quiet. Even outside this room there were usually more teens here. Anne and Ricky seemed worried about the kids. Conner wanted to help, but would have to talk to Anne later. It seemed unlikely that these four would ever work together. But Conner saw them at the same table, not yelling or hurting each other. Maybe it was a start.
