Chapter 311

Fred needed to know what happenned to her parents. They wouldn't just return to Texas without saying goodbye. Doctor Knox said he could take Fred to them. She didn't trust him, but she had to know. Being from Texa Fred knew about firearms, usually kept one in her purse. Knox took Fred to his house. If he was planning to violate her, or had hurt her parents, he would regret it. Angel was having Sunday dinner with his son, and his mortal enemies. Fred had gotten used to such things dating a vampire. She didn't want him involved in this. Fred had braced herself for the worst, but not this. Roger and Trish Burkle were dead, worse than that. Their bodies were joined together in some strange cocoon. The look on Knox's face, the joy, the sadistic glee. Knox had murdered Fred's parents, and now he'd brought her here to show off his masterpiece. Fred couldn't stand him, not for one more second. She took the gun from her purse and shot him. Fred kept pulling the trigger until she ran out of bullets, and then pulled it a few more times. Yet somehow, even as Knox was dying, he kept on smiling.
