Holland Manners was dissapointed in Lindsay Mcdonald. He'd recruited Lindsay when he was still in law school, when he began working in the mail room. Holland was even willing to sacrifice Eve to bring Lindsay into the circle. Holland was angry, he wanted to make Lindsay pay, but that would have to wait. Lindsay had incriminating evidence, Holland needed more power before his vengeance. Ironically Lindsay had helped with this without realizing it. The books Lindsay found helped Holland ressurrect Illyria, an ancient god. But Illyria's army was long gone, she would need help, even with her physical strength.
