Chapter 315
Daniel Holtz wondered why Wood asked to see him like this. His voice sounded strange on the phone, but he still trusted the principal, and hoped the feeling was mutual. When Holtz arrived he saw Wood with a young African-American male named Rondell. Wood and Holtz spoke privately.
Wood: Rondell over there used to fight vampires with Charles Gunn in LA. But he went his own way when Gunn gave up the fight.
Holtz: And now young Rondell wants to be part of our crusade? I have no problem with that.
Wood: He's a little uneasy about your, association, with Angelus and Darla.
Holtz: I am attempting to learn what I can about their plans. I'm sure they're trying to use me as well, but I'll never tell them anything.
Wood: That's all this is, using them for information?
Holtz: With those two, yes.
Wood: And Steven?
Holtz: He's off limits. I'm trying to kkep him away from evil.
Wood: And if it's not?
Holtz: I'll deal with it then. If anyone, including you or Rondell, hurts my son, I'll kill them. If Rondell has a problem with that, he should leave now. If he stays, he follows our orders. Am I clear.
