Buffy was having a hard time keeping her secret identity. Her mother and sister knew, they were trying to adjust. A number of students were learning, and keeping quiet for now. Andrew, Jonathan, Larry, even Nancy all went to Sunnydale High and kept quiet. On Monday morning Buffy realized the benefits of this, connections. After hearing about a Satanic kidnapping ring Buffy questioned her connection to devil-worship, Violet.

Buffy: Is there any truth about a Satanic underground involving kidnapping?
Violet: Pure fiction, for our side. There is a Christian underground that sticks its nose in child custody cases. Those things are bitter, my parents could testify to that. If one accuses the other of devil-worship they can go to the underground which will help them take the kids and hide.
Buffy: I've heard of that. I thought they helped with abuse and child-molestation.
Violet: They do some good work, but they deny Satanists rights over their own children. Frankly, I think some of them are protecting Caleb, but then I'm probably biased.
Buffy: Someone hurt Snyder.
Violet: He's practically a fascist, a lot of kids hate him. All I can say is I had nothing to do with that.
Buffy: Any chance this is real? Maybe some fringe Satanists?
Violet: Maybe. All religions have extremists. And to be honest we do sometimes attract lunatics. I'll make some inquiries to my friends, and Magus Gilmore.
