A big thank you to SpadePirates4Eva, Just a Cadbury, Anime lover and all silent readers!
SpadePirates4Eva – The irony of wanting to kill Kai with his own killing technique :') and thank you! I re-wrote about five times I think or more, listening to different songs so I got different outcomes. So…much…typing!
Just a Cadbury – So am I, I'm so excited I could explode!
Anime lover – About three of the versions I did Mishka originally won, the other two that I remember clearly she didn't. So yeah, I thought it be more fitting to lose. Insane Mishka huh?...Now that's something I may consider. Ha-ha I'm glad you think his sweet, I try to keep it in character as much as possible, sometimes though it is a little bit hard. Arg I know what you mean with the violent anime thing, been watching too much Elfen Lied, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and Umineko no Naku Koro Ni for my own good.

The only reason I had become a Hunter was because Gittarackur, Killua's older brother, had said such mean things to Killua. And no matter what we tried to do, Killua wouldn't respond to us. Then he killed Bodoro. Then he left. Even Gon was angry and told Gittarackur to apologise. We have to get Killua back, we just have to!
We all stood in shock, watching with wide eyes. Gon continued to glare at Gittarackur. Killua's brother turned his head slightly to face Gon, although that same expression never left his face. That same, emotionless expression.
"Apologise? For what?" Gittarackur asked him, sounding innocent as if he didn't have a clue.
"You don't know what you did wrong?" Gon asked him, taken back by his words.
"Nope." Gittarackur replied to him. It was like trying to tell a really little kid that they did something bad, but they didn't understand.
"You don't have the right to be his brother." Gon said making my eyes go wide. I couldn't believe Gon would say something like that, he wasn't usually one to tell people what they could and couldn't have; so that was a shock. Gittarackur turned his head back to the front once more, clearly unaffected by Gon's words.
"Must I earn the right to be his brother?" He asked him. Gon suddenly grabbed his wrist and pulled him straight out of his chair. Gittarackur landed on his feet next to Gon, unaffected by Gon's actions. I couldn't help but gasp as I stood on my toes and leaned forward some more with my hands on the desk. He only just woke up, and here he was throwing about people as if they were weightless.
"He doesn't need to earn the right to be mine and Mishka's friend!" Gon shouted at him, tightening his grip onto Gittarackur's wrist. He tightened his hand again; if he went any further he'd break it.
Gon glared at him and walked in front of him, keeping a tight hold of his wrist.
"Don't bother apologizing. Just take us to see Killua." Gon said, his words being serious as well as the tone of his voice.
"What will you do then?" Gittarackur asked, keeping the same monotone, oblivious sound of voice he had through the entire conversation.
"That should be obvious…"Gon said to him, trailing off somewhat.
"We're gonna rescue Killua!" Both Gon and I shouted at him. I heard someone click their tongue and knew exactly who it was so I decided it was best to ignore it. I quickly walked down the steps myself and stood next to Gon. We quickly looked at each other with a serious smile and a small nod before turning back to face Gittarackur. I could feel my brother staring at me and quickly looked up before looking back at Gittarackur. It looked like his was happy, or proud. I couldn't quite tell, but, he wasn't angry for deciding to stand by my friend's decision. I looked at Gittarackur with a glare as Gon did the same.
"You two make it sound as though I kidnapped him… He walked away on his own." Gittarackur said to us.
"After you were mean to him!" I said back to him as Gon nodded his head agreeing with my words, keeping the same glare on his face.
"It wasn't by choice. He was being manipulated by you people. It's the same thing as kidnapping him!" Gon said to him, never releasing the grip on his arm and never taking his eyes off him.
Chairman Netero walked off the little podium stand he was standing on, the wood blocks on his shoes clicking onto the ground.
"We happened to be discussing this very subject, Gon. Kurapika and Leorio have both lodged complaints. The committee has been discussing the fairness of Killua's disqualification." Chairman Netero said his hands behind his back. I looked at my brother; I never knew he had made a complaint against it. I couldn't help but smile at the thought and looked back at Chairman Netero, taking a seat once more. I placed my hands into my lap as I watched what was happening down at the front. My brother stood up after Chairman Netero finished speaking.
"Killua had been behaving in a strange manner during and since his battle with the man who called him Gittarackur! I believe that he was hypnotized into committing murder. Under normal circumstances, it would be impossible to use hypnosis to induce a person to kill. However, as Killua was raised in a family of assassins, murder was part of his daily life, so it's natural he would lack the ethical restraint of most!" My brother explained to the committee as everybody watched him closely. I watched him as well with wide eyes. He had picked up so much detail from that one little fight. I saw Leorio stand up, raising his point.
"I want to mention that the attack happened during the match between Bodoro and me. It's possible that he was trying to help me out. Given that, the one who should be disqualified is me." Leorio said, pointing his thumb to himself.
"In any case, Killua was not in control of his own actions. Thus, he should not have been disqualified!" Kurapika said to the Chairman.
Chairman Netero turned to his side and closed his eyes, bowing down his head.
"That is mere speculation. There is no proof." He said and walked back onto the podium with the table in the middle of it. He placed his hands onto the table, looking back at us all.
"There were no clear signs of manipulation. In fact, I would question the claim that he was hypnotised." He said, making my brother gasp at the dismissal of his theory. I continued to the Chairman carefully.
"I agree that the incident occurred after the battle between Leorio and Bodoro had begun. At that point, both fighters were evenly matched. Bodoro had more experience. But in the terms of raw combat ability, Leorio was the stronger. There was no need for Killua to interfere." Chairman Netero said to us, making me furrow my brows and fiddle with my shirt sleeve. It couldn't have been right, I know Killua killed the man, but it wasn't his fault! Pokkle stood up afterwards, deciding to speak as well.
"There was some other funny business happening." Pokkle said and turned his head to face my brother. My brother looked back down at him.
"Like when you fought Hisoka. Back then, what did he say to you?" Pokkle asked him, making me look up to my brother as well. I wondered what he had said as well; but rather it was something just for my brother to know or not was another matter. Pokkle leaned his back onto the desk as well as the palm of his hands.
"Neither of you seemed particularly tired. But Hisoka whispered something in your ear, right before conceding. That's pretty strange." He said, looking up to my brother.
"I'd understand surrounding after your opponent whispers something to you, as happened with Hanzo and me, Bodoro and Hisoka or Kai and Mishka." He said making me turn my eyes down at the thought of my fight with Kai. I was still sore about it, if I was honest and I was probably going to be for a while.
"Because we were under considerable pressure. But in your case the exact opposite happened. I have to wonder if you struck some sort of bargain. If you're going to question anything that seems odd, your own victory was quite odd, indeed." Pokkle said, continuing to lean against the chair.
Gon and I continued to stare at what was happening and quickly looked at each other confused as to why all these other questions were coming up before looking back at what was happening. Pokkle continued to talk to Kurapika.
"If you have nothing to hide, you should tell us what he said. Right now." Pokkle said, lowering his head.
"I have no obligation to tell you." My brother spoke to him calmly, never faulting under the pressure in the room.
"Maybe not, but I believe you owe it to us." Pokkle said to him, remaining calm himself but glaring up at my brother.
"Not really. If you consider my victory to be odd, a victory by default would be equally odd." Kurapika said, turning his head and closing his eyes. Pokkle began angry and lifted himself from the table, glaring at my brother and losing the calm composer he had.
"What?!" Pokkle said as he glared up at my brother. Kurapika looked down at Pokkle.
"None of that matters." I heard Gon mutter making me look at him from the corner of my eyes slightly. Gittarackur moved slightly at Gon's words.
"Come on… I want to get this lecture with so I can leave." Hanzo said standing up himself. I saw Kai stand up himself, keeping his hands by his table.
"Unlike some others in the room that have nothing better than to fight among themselves, some of us have things we need to do." He said, looking down at the Chairman himself.
"Hey, you…" Leorio said turning around to face him.
"None of that matters!" Gon shouted, silencing everyone. Everyone turned to look at Gon, who stared at the floor.
"It's pointless to argue over whether someone should have passed. If you aren't happy about passing, keep working until you're satisfied. If Killua takes the Hunter Exam, he'll definitely pass! It's unfortunate that he failed this time, but it is what it is. What does matter…" Gon said, and tightened his grip on Gittarackur's wrist once more. I wasn't even aware he had let his grip loose.
"If you've been forcing Killua to kill, against his will, all this time, we'll make you pay!" Gon said, looking up at Gittarackur once more.
I looked at Gittarackur myself, putting the glare back onto my face.
"Make me pay? What, exactly, will you two do?" He asked Gon as he looked over at the two of us. We stood our ground; we had to for Killua's sake.
"We won't do anything." Gon said as I nodded my head agreeing with him, deciding it was best to let Gon talk. He was better at it then I was, I stood next to him as more of moral support but also to show I was serious about the decision with Gon. Even though we hadn't discussed it before hand or had any contact after his fight, we thought on the same level.
"Only, once we rescue Killua, we'll never let you see him again!" Gon said to him, never taking his hand off of Gittarackur's wrist. Gittarackur starter putting his hand towards Gon's forehead making Gon let go of his wrist and jump back. He looked at me and started doing the same, making me jump back as well. Not as far as Gon, but enough to be away from his arm. We both glared at the man as he stood with his arm out towards me.
"Ahem." Chairman Netero said making Gittarackur drop his arm back to his side. Gon and I looked at the chairman as he cleared his throat.
"Is everyone finished? Gon is absolutely correct. You must decide for yourselves if you were worthy of passing. You may complain about the results all you like, but we will not be changing our minds." Chairman Netero said as he looked at everyone. Gon and I continued staring at him as he spoke. I could see everyone from the corner of my eyes beginning to sit back down after their little say in things here and there.
"Killua has been disqualified. And the rest of you have passed the exam." He said as Pokkle and Kurapika were the last to sit down. The only people who didn't sit down were Gittarackur, Gon and me.
We all stared at the Chairman as he turned his head to Beans. They nodded at each other, both with a small smile on their face. Beans began walking forward and looked at us all.
"Okay, then I shall continue the orientation." He said and held up a Hunter card. It had a blue bottom and black top with the widely recognised Hunter mark inside a white box.
"The cards I've given you are your Hunter licenses. This card allows you to enter ninety percent of the countries that limit immigration, as well as seventy five percent of the restricted areas in the world." Beans said a wide smile on his face.
"The card also provides free access to ninety five percent of public facilities, and a line of credit that rivals large corporations." He said making me and Gon raise an eyebrow at that. Credit? What did he mean by that? Not that it mattered but it was still confusing. We looked at each other confused before looking back at Beans once more as he continued to hold out the card.
"If you sell the card, you'll have enough money to last seven lifetimes. And if you keep it, you'll still be living in comfort. So take extra card that your license isn't lost or stolen. You won't receive a replacement." He said to us. Pokkle looked at the card nervously. I couldn't help but tighten the grip on my bag slightly, knowing my card was in there. Even if I didn't deserve it I didn't want to lose it.
"According to our estimates, one in five Hunters loses their card within a year of receiving it. As a Hunter, your first challenge is to protect your card. The rest is up to you." Beans said, holding a finger next to his head.
"Rise above your challenges, believe in your own strength, and fulfil your dreams." Beans finished off. I looked down at my bag slightly, that little bit of card could do all that? For real? Big brother always said it could do many things and allow you access many things, but now that I heard it from someone else; it seemed like a lot of responsibility to have.
"Well, we now declare the nine members here to be new Hunters!" Chairman Netero said to us.
Everybody began exiting the room one by one. I stayed behind with Gon, we had said that we needed to rescue Killua, but he still hadn't told us where Killua lived. We came to the conclusion that we needed that information. We both walked over to the door that was open, allowing everybody out. Gon stood in front as I stood slightly behind him, both of us glaring at Gittarackur.
"Gittarackur…" Gon said making him turn his head towards us. We both walked over to him, me staying a little bit behind Gon and stopped in front of him, a determined look on our face. We were going to get Killua, no matter what.
"Tell us where Killua is." Gon said to him.
"Are you really going to take him away? I think that's a bad idea." Gittarackur said to us. Gon stepped forward slightly, clenching his good hand.
"We don't care what you think!" Gon said to him. I decided to speak up this time.
"Killua is our friend." I said to him, moving forward to stand next to Gon.
"We're taking him with us." Gon said to him. Gittarackur looked between us before looking behind us, his expression never changing, nor did his posture.
"Do you feel the way?" He asked the people behind us. Gon and I turned around. Leorio was standing behind Gon and Kurapika was standing behind me.
"You bet." Leorio said to him. Gon and I looked at Kurapika who looked back at us and smiled, nodding his head. We both smiled back and looked over at Leorio who did the same as my brother, making us smile even wider. They were going to help and we didn't even ask. We both looked at each other smiling widely and turned our attention back to Gittarackur. He had a finger on his lips and looked up at the ceiling thinking to himself.
"Fine. I doubt you'll be able to make it there anyway. Killua went home." Gittarackur said making us both look at him confused.
"Home?" We both questioned him at the same time. Gittarackur looked down at the floor before looking back at us.
"Kukuroo Mountain. Our family lives at the very top." He said to us. Kukuroo Mountain? I had never heard of it, it sounded off. Still, Killua lived on top of a Mountain how cool was that?! If anything I was excited, we were saving Killua but we were also going to see where he lived.
"Kukuroo Mountain?" Leorio questioned Gittarackur.
"Got it. Thanks." Gon said to him as I nodded my head, happy with the information we had gotten. Gon and I turned around and walked past Kurapika and Leorio and they followed on behind us. Gon began explaining to us on what was going to happen and I nodded my head eagerly with every detail smiling widely.
We all headed to a quiet area of the hotel. Kurapika sat on the bench as me and Gon stood in front of him. Leorio stood next to Gon.
"Kukuroo Mountain? Never heard of it." Leorio said, thinking over the name of the Mountain Killua lived on. My brother looked down to the ground in his own thoughts.
"Kurapika, do you know where it is?" Leorio asked him, expecting my brother to know the answer. My brother didn't answer making me furrow my brows slightly worried. He seemed spaced out and not all there.
"Hey, Kurapika!" Leorio said making Kurapika snap his head up and jump out of his thoughts.
"Huh?" He said looking up at us a little surprised. He stood up quickly, regaining his composer the best he could.
"Oh, what is it?" He asked Leorio. I furrowed my brows more, that usually meant something got to him when he didn't hear people speaking to him.
"The Mountain! He said something about Kukuroo Mountain. Do you know where it might be?" Leorio asked him, waving his arms about as he explained his question. My brother brought his head down.
"No, I don't… We can look it up online." Kurapika said bringing his head back up again. We turned out heads in the direction of footsteps and saw Hanzo standing a good few feet away from us.
He raised hand up and smiled widely at us.
"Yo!" Hanzo said. Gon waved his hand in the air waving his over with a large happy grin.
"Oh, Hanzo!" Gon said to him. Hanzo walked over to us and stood in front of us, continuing to smile at us all.
"I'm going back to my country. It was a short, yet seemingly long acquaintance, but I had fun." Hanzo said to Gon. Gon continued to smile at him happily and nodded his head.
"So did I." He said to him happily.
"If you ever visit my country, let me know. I can show you the best tourist spots." He said taking out a slip of paper from his pocket and handing it to my brother. I looked at the back of the paper and watched as Hanzo began walking away waving at us.
"See ya." He said, making Gon stand on his toes and wave his good arm at him.
"Bye!" He shouted as Hanzo walked away from us. We all looked at the paper Hanzo gave us. It was brown in colour and had odd written all over it. There were four of them. Raising an eyebrow I looked at it questionably.
"What does it say?" I asked as Gon shrugged his shoulders and looked at it with a wide smile.
"A shinobi who tries to leave an impression…" My brother said making me turn my head up towards him, looking at him questionably.
"Is that what it says?" I asked him as he shrugged his shoulder giving an apologetic look. I smiled widely at him showing I didn't mind.
We heard someone come towards us and looked up at who it could be. In front of us we saw Pokkle.
"Hey." He said simply. We stared at him for a while until he began speaking once more.
"Sorry about getting so excited back there." He said to my brother and dropped his head. Kurapika furrowed his brows and smiled at him.
"No, I had lost control. Forgive me." He said bowing to him slightly with his question for forgiveness. Pokkle brought his head up looking at my brother once more.
"No, I only got mad because you were right. I was using you to take out my frustration for winning by default. But I'm over that now. Since I passed, I'm going to make the best of it!" He said and jogged over to us with a smirk on his face. He carried something close to his hip, what though I couldn't quite tell.
"The question is what to do next." He said looking at the four of us.
"Yes, you're right." My brother said to him. Pokkle's smirk turned into a genuine smile as his gaze softened looking at all of us.
"I'm going to travel that world, gathering information and discovering new species, as an Exotic Game Hunter." He said, bringing the thing under his arm up towards him. I smiled widely at him, amazed, it sounded like a lot of fun.
"That sounds really fun!" I said to him as he looked down to me and nodded his head.
"An Exotic Game Hunter…" Kurapika said in almost disbelief. Gon pointed at the thing under his arm making me look at it as well.
"Hey, what's that?" He asked as I nodded my head smiling widely wondering what it was myself.
"Oh, this? You can use this to obtain all kinds of information. Is there anything you'd like to know? I can look it up on the spot." He asked and said to us holding out the little black square.
Gon and I looked at it excitedly with wide eyes. We both looked at each other thinking on what we could ask. Gon smiled widely and looked back at Pokkle holding his finger up.
"Can you look up a Hunter named Ging? Ging Freecss." Gon asked him excitedly. That's when it hit me! I knew exactly what to ask for. Pokkle set the machine the little box machine up and began typing onto it looking for Ging Freecss.
"Hey, who is this Ging guy?" Pokkle asked making Gon look at him confused.
"Huh?" He said to Pokkle sounding confused.
"All information related to him is behind a tight security system that requires a bunch of different accesses. He has some serious influence even at the national level." Pokkle said taking Gon back by surprise.
"Huh? Really? Forget it, then…" Gon said, smiling at him apologetically. Leorio leaned down and began whispering something into Gon's ear as Pokkle looked at me smiling the same smile he had beforehand.
"You looked like you wanted to ask something as well." He said as I thought about it and nodded my head quickly smiling widely, remembering what I wanted to ask.
"Yeah! Can you look for a Hunter called Jerome Crudisk?" I asked him excited. I could feel Kurapika look at him and looked back smiling widely. We hadn't spoken to them since we left three years, and I wanted to know if he still lived where they did when we left. Pokkle began typing in things to look for him. He sighed slightly as he looked back to me.
"It says here he died about two years ago to illness." He said to me, making my eyes go wide.
I felt my breath catch in my throat as he turned the little machine around. It showed a picture of a man with short black hair and green eyes. His skin was slightly tanned and he was quite muscly. The stats next to him read:
Name: Jerome Crudisk
Age: 51
Occupation: Music Hunter
DECEASED
Cause of death: Illness
I furrowed my brows and looked away before looking up at Pokkle again smiling widely.
"Thank you." I said to him as he nodded his head. I couldn't help but fiddle with the sleeves of my shirt once more. Jerome, the guy who gave Kurapika and I our Hunter application cards and even helped us train a little was gone. I knew my brother was reading over my shoulder and knew he was sad about the information as well. Pokkle closed up the little machine and placed it under his arm as he looked at all of us.
"Okay, let me know if anything comes up." He said to us and handed Gon a slip of paper.
"This is my e-mail address. Bye!" He said and ran past us as we turned around slightly to watch him. Gon turned around and waved his arm at him.
"Bye!" Gon shouted back to him with a wide smile.
Gon turned his head to face me as I turned mine to look at him as well.
"Hey Mishka. Who's Jerome Crudisk?" Gon asked me looking at me questionably. I smiled widely at him, although it was also sad.
"He's someone that me and my big brother knew. He's gone now though." I said furrowing my brows and looking away slightly before turning my head and smiling widely at him again.
"It's okay though. He was really sick when we saw him last. I'll pay him a visit soon so I can say bye." I said to him smiling widely. Gon nodded his head and smiled back, pocketing the piece of paper with Pokkle's e-mail address written on it.
"I'll come to that way you don't have to go by yourself." He said as I smiled back widely at him and nodded my head. I probably wouldn't go by myself, my big brother would come as well; but if he was being a Black List Hunter he probably wouldn't have the time, I would have to bring something from Kurapika to give to Jerome and apologise to him about my big brother not being there. I sighed slightly to myself; bringing myself back to the fact Jerome was gone. I couldn't do anything, but it was still sad.
After a few moments of silence Leorio suddenly jumped making us all look at him in question.
"We should have asked him to look up Kukuroo Mountain." Leorio said slumping down. Gon and I furrowed our brows as I laughed slightly having completely forgotten.
"That's right." Gon said, remembering the small detail himself.
"It's alright. As Chairman Netero was saying, we are all Hunters now. It's a bad idea to let other Hunters know what you're doing. We can look it up ourselves." Kurapika said holding out his arms as he looked between the four of us. Leorio and Gon scratched the back of their heads as I smiled widely at the fact.
"Gon." We heard a voice say and turned our heads to see who it was. Walking over to us was Satotz. He stopped in front of us and looked at us with the same bored look he had when we were doing the First Phase. Come to think of it, that look never changed when Gon, Killua and I were all racing and had asked him who finished first. I smiled happily at the thought, it was fun and I wanted many other days like that to.
"Satotz!" Gon said running over to him happily. He stopped in front of Satotz who looked down to him and held out the black Hunter card book.
"Gon, you forgot this." Satotz said to him simply. Gon took the book and looked up to Satotz once more.
"Oh, right… Thanks!" He said to him happily. Satotz held up a finger taking Gon back by surprise.
"And do you have a moment?" He asked him politely. Gon looked back to us with a questionable look on his face. Leorio began turning around to walk back to the lobby.
"We'll be waiting in the lobby." Kurapika said and turned around himself.
"See you later!" I said to him and waved with my hand in the air. Gon nodded his head and waved back, walking away with Satotz. I caught up with my brother and walked next to him.
"Leorio, we'll meet you in the lobby." Kurapika said to Leorio as he turned his head and rose an eyebrow slightly before dropping his shoulders and walking off, muttering something about secret meetings without him. I looked up at my brother and saw him nod his head towards a part of the outside where there weren't any people. I nodded my head and followed my brother quickly.
We had got to a little part of the outside that didn't have anyone. It was shaded by the buildings. Kurapika leaned his back against one of the pillars as I stood next to him looking up at the sky. Silence fell over the both of us as we looked up at the sky.
"Jerome's really gone." I said, sighing to myself slightly and furrowed my brows. I could see Kurapika nod his head from the corner of my eyes, never making his eyes leave the sky.
"Are you okay?" He asked me making me look up at him. I nodded my head and smiled widely at my brother.
"Yeah. I'm really sad about it and will be for a while, but, I know Jerome wouldn't want us to be sad all the time because his gone." I said shuffling on my feet slightly and fiddling with the sleeves of the shirt.
"I want to cry, but I'm not going to because that would make Jerome sad too. He was sick and I thought he would get better or still be around for us to go see him again as Hunters." I said to him, smiling widely up at my brother. He brought his vision up from the sky and looked down at me.
"When we get Killua back I want to take a photo of all of us together and send it back to Sarah and Kimmy." I said to him continuing to hold my wide smile. Kurapika thought about it for a second and nodded his head, smiling back.
"That doesn't sound like a bad idea." He said to me making the smile on my face even wider.
We let silence pass us again as we stared back at the sky. I felt my brother look down at me once more and looked back up to him again looking at him questionably but also smiling.
"Mishka. You and Gon hadn't had any contact before today after his fight yesterday. How did you know he was going to say "We're going to rescue Killua"?" My brother asked me. I smiled widely at him and giggled very slightly to myself.
"Because we're friends and we're friends with Killua. So there's no reason why we wouldn't be thinking the same thing." I said to him, happy with my answer. It was almost child logic, very young child logic; but it's what made the most sense to me. I fidgeted with my shirt sleeve and furrowed my brows with a sad smile on my face.
"I only became a Hunter because of all the help I was given by Gon and Killua. And I only received my license because of Killua's accident." I said to him. I perked up almost instantly, smiling widely at my brother again.
"It's my turn to help Gon to help Killua when he needs it the most." I said to him smiling widely at my brother. I could see my brother smile back at me, it looked happy, a really happy smile. He was never one for smiling widely, but each smile was different. He closed his eyes and nodded his head. Reopening his eyes once more, he kept the same smile on his face. He pushed himself off the pillar and looked at me smiling himself.
"Okay, we better get back to Leorio." He said to me making me nod my head quickly and follow my brother back into the lobby where Leorio was waiting.
We entered the lobby and saw Leorio sitting in a chair, reading a magazine. I quickly ran up to him and sat in the chair next to him peering over his arm.
"What you reading?" I asked him raising an eyebrow slightly in question. The magazine was full of woman in swim suits or modelling bikinis, I didn't get the interest, but some of them were lying down on the beach with their back laces undone. Leorio looked between me and then back to his magazine again, before looking back to me and closing the magazine quickly. He pushed my face away with one hand and buried the magazine under a pile of other magazines with another.
"D-Don't you know it's rude to look over people's shoulder?!" He shouted at me, his cheeks going red as I placed my hands onto his wrists and tried to pull his hand away from my face.
"B-but I just want to see what you're looking at!" I said to him muffled though his hand. I eventually pulled his hand away from my face and shook my head quickly whilst glaring at him only to receive a glare back. I could see my brother standing looking between the two of us, trying not to laugh before walking over himself and asking what exactly was going on.
Gon had come back and ran straight over to the three of us. I looked up and smiled widely at him. Kurapika in the end had to sit in between of Leorio and me as I kept trying to find the magazine he was looking at. I was curious. My big brother didn't like that though and scolded Leorio for reading such a magazine in public even if he did find it with the others. I hadn't seen my brothers' face really red before, so I wonder what it was about. We all began wondering the hotel looking for a library and after ten minutes of looking we managed to find one. Kurapika sat at the computer desk with Gon and me standing on one side of him and Leorio standing on the other. I stood on the same side as Gon's broken arm.
"First, let's look up Kukuroo Mountain." Leorio said to my brother. We all looked at the black screen and stared at our reflections.
"Yeah." Kurapika said and turned on the machine. It showed a white background with the Hunter symbol on it. Kurapika began typing in what we were looking for.
"Kukuroo Mountain… There it is." He said smiling widely. Me and Gon moved her heads closer to the screen to get a better look, smiling widely ourselves. Pictures started flashing up. One picture showed a huge Mountain that was brown in colour, another two showed pictures of a local town.
""Kukuroo Mountain. A three thousand seven hundred and twenty two meter high mountain, in the Dentora region of the Republic of Padokea."" My brother read off as I looked at the screen in amazement.
"The Republic of Padokea? Never heard of it." Leorio said sounding dumbfounded.
"Killua's house is really high up!" I said excitedly looking at Gon with a wide smile. He returned it, smiling back widely himself.
"Hold on. I'll bring up a map." Kurapika said as he typed some more on the keyboard.
My brother managed to bring up a map on where The Republic of Padokea was. The map was brown in colour with all the countries being a darker brown. There was a little red circle and a little red cross on the map as well.
"This is the Republic of Padokea. It should be fine. It appears to be a stable country. It allows ordinary tourists." My brother said, reading the information about the Republic of Padokea.
"That's where we'll find Killua?" Gon asked, placing his good hand onto the back of my brothers' chair.
"By airship, it will take three days to reach… When do we leave?" Kurapika asked, placing a hand onto his chin and raising an eyebrow in question. Me and Gon stood close to my brother smiling widely at him.
"Today! Right now!" We both said at the same time excitedly making me look at us in surprise. He turned his head to Leorio, who had also brought himself closer to Kurapika to speak and placed a hand on the back of his chair.
"Yeah, no objections from me!" Leorio said excitedly himself. My brother turned back to the computer screen and started typing on the keyboard again.
"Understood. Then, I'll order tickets." He said and pressed the enter key on the keyboard.
We had left the hotel to the Hunter Exam and walked down to the main street. Me and Gon talked excitedly to each other about travelling to go see Killua. Leorio had managed to call over a taxi from the phone that sat on the street. The taxi eventually arrived. Leorio climbed in first, then me, then Gon sitting next to me and lastly my brother sitting next to Gon. We had jumped our bags into the front seat next to the taxi driver. The journey in the car took about three hours until we came to a complete stop. It started turning from fun to really hot and uncomfortable. Gon leaned forward as I leaned my elbows onto my knees and furrowed my brows with Gon. It was hot and sticky, and we weren't moving anywhere.
"What's going on? We've been stuck in one place forever." Leorio complained looking over the driver's seat and into the back of his head. Kurapika placed his hands onto the other passenger seat and leaned over looking out of the window, causing Gon to lean into my arm making me lean over myself.
"This won't do. We'll be late for our flight." Kurapika said making Gon bring his head up. He glared at the clock as I sighed to myself, not liking being stuck in the car while it was getting really hot.
"Pops! Do something!" Leorio said to the taxi driver who continued to look out of the window and peep his horn a few times. Gon placed his hand onto his cheek.
"I'm afraid I can't help this traffic. And this is the only road." The taxi driver said as Gon brought up his head smiling widely.
"In that case…" Gon said loudly and tapped my leg with his finger on his good hand. I looked at him as he pointed his head outside. I had to think about it slightly and leaned over gently as Gon bent forward and placed a hand on my brothers' chest to get him to lean back slightly. He did so with Leorio and looked at him in question as I looked out the window. Outside was a wall with that wad quite wide. I raised an eyebrow slightly and threw myself back onto my seat, bouncing up and down slightly and nodded my head quickly smiling widely.
Gon told the idea to Kurapika and Leorio and before they could protest he gently got himself out of the car. I followed after him smiling widely at my brother.
"Sorry." I said quickly as I climbed over him and walked to the front passenger side with Gon excitedly. My brother and Leorio quickly got out of the car themselves as me and Gon grabbed our things and started climbing onto the wall with Kurapika and Leorio following after us.
"Yahoo!" Gon shouted happily as I ran slightly behind him.
"This is much faster, Gon!" I said to him smiling widely as Gon turned his head slightly and smiled widely back at me. Kurapika and Leorio ran behind us as we all ran across the wall towards the airport. We were moving much faster than the cars, then again; the cars weren't moving at all.
"Hey, Gon! Mishka! Do you realize how far away the airport is?" Leorio questioned us making us turn her heads towards him. I looked at him questionably as Gon smiled widely at him.
"We want to rescue Killua as soon as humanly possible!" Gon said as I nodded my head quickly after Gon finished talking. My brother and Leorio looked at each other quickly before looking back at us.
"Fine, you win." Leorio said as the two began catching up with us. I could hear my brother chuckle behind me slightly.
"This reminds me of the Hunter Exam." He said, hearing the smile in his voice.
"That's right." Gon said as I nodded my head.
"This is nothing compared to the Hunter Exam." Gon said happily and smiled widely to himself.
"Yeah… You got that right." Leorio said behind us, his own smirk in his voice. Gon turned his head to me smiling widely before looking back at the other two.
"It was so much fun in the end, even with all the fighting." I said smiling widely to myself. Even though the exam was painful, and even though the exam was demanding. People even died during the exam; I couldn't help but admit I had fun. I had had fun all because I had met Gon and Killua on my journey, two people who I saw as my best friends in the whole world.
"Race you to the airport!" He said to us as I looked at him determined a small smile on my face.
"I'll win this time!" I said to him, eager to win this race.
"Ready…Go!" Me and Gon shouted as we began speeding up to try and get there first with my brother and Leorio running behind us, keeping up with us as we raced to the airport, towards the Republic of Padokea. We raced towards getting Killua back. Racing to get back our best friend in the entire world.
Author note: Every time Mishka talks I keep imagining it in Rika Furude's English voice.
