A big thank you to Just A Cadbury, Anime lover, and all silent readers!
Just A Cadbury – Indeed, will be twenty two. I thought it made sense with Mishka being that strong as she was training to open the Testing Gate too, so it made sense to me; plus I have to admit, I came to a complete standstill with having her lose and didn't know how to continue from there. K-On's great!

We had followed Wing silently to his house. It was a little bit far from the busy streets of where Heaven's Arena was. The area was quiet and house populated. Wing's house was a two story building. We entered the home after him and followed him into a big room. It had orange walls and dark brown wood flooring. In one corner was a white bored with strange letters written on it. I didn't understand what they said, but they were the same letters as what was on the paper that Hanzo gave us. Maybe Wing and Hanzo came from the same place? Wing stood next to the white board with his hands behind his back. Zushi stood next to him, a serious look on his face. Me, Gon and Killua stood in front of Wing and white board, our arms by our sides.
"Do I have your attention? Nen means to burn your own soul." Wing said to us as he removed his hands from his back and uncapped a board marker. He began writing on the white board.
"In other words, it tests your strength of will. And the four major principles are part of a training curriculum for strengthening your will." Wing said turning his head back to us after writing that strange symbol on the board. I looked at him with wide eyes as Gon looked at him with interest and Killua looked at him with a serious gaze.
"Strengthening your will?" Gon questioned him.
"Burning your soul sounds really painful." I said to him, not enjoying the sound of having to burn my own soul.
"Training?" Killua questioned Wing. There was so much to take in; I found it difficult to get any of it with ease. Wing turned back to the white board again and began writing more onto it with the board marker, making it squeak as he wrote.
"That's correct. Ten means to focus your soul to a single point, to increase awareness of your ego and goals. Zetsu means to express yourself in words. Ren means to temper that will. And Hatsu means to act upon that will." Wing said as he placed one arm behind his back after placing the cap back onto the board marker.
Wing began pointing at each of the symbols with a small smile as Gon began reading them off.
"Ten. Zetsu. Ren. Hatsu. Those are the four major principles." Gon said as Wing pointed to the top line above all the other symbols. He placed his hand back behind his back once more, keeping the small smile on his face.
"Killua, Zushi tempered with his "refusal to lose", during his fight with you." Wing said as silence filled the room. Killua made a small noise before widening his eyes slightly.
"So, allow me to demonstrate. Killua…" Wing said making Killua look up to him.
"I think I'm going to kill you now. Are you ready?" Wing said to him then asked him simply making me stiffen. Was he really going to try and kill Killua? Me and Gon looked at Killua as he shoved his hands into his pockets, wondering what the assassin was going to do.
"Yeah, sure. It's not happening." Killua said to him simply himself, making me unstiffen from the words. At least he was confident that Wing wasn't going to kill him; but I still wouldn't let my guard down, he could be serious. Wing continued to smile at Killua and lifted a finger near his face, the glare on his glasses disappearing.
"Then I'll take this step-by-step. First comes Ten." Wing said as the three of us watched him closely. Wing crossed his wrists over and bent at the knee and closed his eyes.
"I focus my soul into a single point. Zetsu. You can express yourself mentally or verbally." Wing said as he opened his to look at us. We continued to stare at him as Wing closed his eyes once more.
"I will kill you." He said simply. He began glowing a purple out line around his whole body. He then opened his eyes slowly, only to narrow them making the whole room fill with an uncomfortable air. It pushed our hair back. Gon looked at his wide eyed as I tried my best to use one of my arms to stop this uncomfortable wind and atmosphere blow straight through me. I couldn't help but close my eyes tightly and turn slightly to the side. Killua stared at him with wide eyes as his hair was pushed back from his face. I opened my eyes when the uncomfortable feeling went away. My hair landed back onto my face slightly with strands coming falling over my eyes at odd places. I looked to my left to see Killua and vanished. I jumped slightly and looked up. He had somehow gotten himself right up into the corner of the room, his hand and feet on either side of the wall as his back pressed into the corner to keep himself away from Wing as much as possible. I looked at him in shock, it made Killua scared, something I didn't expect to happen.
Wing stood up straight once more, the small smile returning to his face.
"That was Ren. If I temper my will enough, then I can act. Hatsu. If your will is strong enough, you can make your opponent back down, without moving a muscle. The concept of bluffing arrives from this." Wing said, adjusting his glasses. Killua dropped from the corner of the room and looked at Wing with a glare.
"Ren hardens that which is soft, and you lose your ability to correct an incorrect idea. Therefore, you should avoid using Ren until your soul has fully matured." Wing said, placing his hands behind his back again and closing his eyes as he explained the concept. I looked back to him; he stood so calmly after giving off the vibe to kill. It was similar to Kai, but at the same time it wasn't. That's what confused me. Wing opened his eyes as he looked back to us.
"Right now, you three and Zushi should be training your souls." Wing said to us. I looked at him with wide eyes as did Gon. Killua glared at him some more and began walking towards the door.
"Let's go, Gon, Mishka." Killua said to us. However, me and Gon stayed glued to our spot as we continued to look at Wing.
"If you wish to learn about Nen, you should focus on mastering Ten. If you master Ten, you will no longer feel the pressure of an opponent's will." Wing said to us and Killua stopped for a second then continued walking to the Gon.
"Thank you very much!" Gon said to him and followed behind Killua. I turned my head to him and thought about something, making me look at Wing. He looked at me questionably as I began thinking how to word my question.
"A guy I know, he has the same uncomfortable air about him but it's all the time, never just at a given point. Does that mean he's using Zetsu all the time?" I asked him. Wing shook his head as he looked at me.
"That doesn't sound like Nen at all. If it was, it'd kill him. What else can he do?" He asked me. I opened my mouth to start telling him however I was interrupted.
"Come on, Mishka!" I heard Killua yell and brought my head over my shoulder.
"Coming! Sorry, thank you for answering my first question." I said to him and quickly ran out of the door to follow Killua and Gon. I exited the house and closed the door behind me then quickly jogged to catch up with Gon and Killua.
We walked along the empty streets with the only sounds being our talking and footsteps. Killua began explain to me and Gon how he thought that Wing was lying as we followed behind him.
"He's lying?" Gon questioned him confused as I looked at Killua questionably. Why would Wing lie? Didn't he actually know nothing of Nen himself and was therefore pulling things from the air to make it seem like he did?
"Yeah. The explanation made perfect sense, and Wing is clearly very strong. But his story had holes." Killua explained to us as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. I raised an eyebrow slightly as we walked through the streets.
"How so?" I asked him, wondering what these holes were.
"Zushi's toughness. He kept getting up after I knocked him down. I was getting irritated, so I used all my strength during my last attack." Killua said as he began explaining the fight to us. I couldn't help but wince slightly, it sounded painful being punched in the gut with all of Killua's strength to the point where Zushi coughed up blood. At the same time, I kind of knew how it felt, as Kai had done something similar to me.
"Willpower didn't keep him standing. He's hiding some other secret." Killua said to us as we continued walking back to Heaven's arena. Gon looked up as we got closer to Heaven's Arena. I watched the back of Killua's head before looking up the tower myself. It sounded painful, and I didn't want to be on the wrong side of Killua if he did that to people when getting irritated. I couldn't help but sigh slightly to myself as I furrowed my brows; there was so much to learn and the explanations confused me. I couldn't get a hold of my brother either to explain to me, so I guess I had to figure this out by myself.
We had reached Heaven's Arena once more for the night and headed for our rooms for the night. I collapsed onto my bed after slipping off my shoes and dress tabard. I still didn't understand a lot, why Wing had lied, what Nen even worse. I think what made it worse was that I missed my brother a lot and had forgotten what it felt like being separated from him; considering the only time I was separated from him was when he went to the outside world back when we were younger to find someone for Pairo. However, this wouldn't be six weeks, this would be six months and more; if I dwelled on it I would never have become stronger. I sighed to myself as I shuffled to move the quilt over me. I couldn't spend all night thinking about it, I had to get some sleep so I could be up and ready for tomorrows matches.
Morning quickly came and I was woken up by someone shaking my shoulder hard. I opened my eyes groggily and looked up.
"Gon? Killua?" I questioned as Gon stood up straight once more.
"We have to go; we're going to be let if you sleep in anymore." Killua said as I quickly sat up straight and looked at the clock. It said nine o'clock. I gasped and quickly jumped out of my bed and grabbed my dress tabard from off the floor and pulled it over my head while slipping on my shoes at the same time.
"Sorry! I didn't know it was that late!" I said to them as I quickly ran over to my bag and flung it over my shoulders with Gon and Killua behind me. We exited my room and began making our way down to the arena.
We got to the arenas quickly and took our stand on each of the arena's. The giant screen showed a picture of me, Gon and Killua standing on the arena's where we would be fighting. Gon was smiling widely as Killua stared blankly. I was looking up at the crowd with my brows furrowed and hands behind my back, so many people; it was frightening to be watched by all these people.
"It's time for the day's biggest match! The rookies Killua, Gon and Mishka have advanced to the one hundredth and ninetieth floor without dropping a fight. Will they be able to keep moving on? Okay everyone… Get ready to press your gamble switches! " The announcer said as everyone began pressing their switches betting on who would win. I was faced against a woman; she looked a lot older than me, maybe about by twenty years or so. She had long blonde hair that was tied up into a side pony tail over her shoulder and had purple eyes. She wore bright red lipstick and wore a very tight pink tank top that stopped at the belly button with a black pleated skirt that fell half way down her thigh. She wore bright pink converse and pink fingerless gloves. The announcer earlier had said her name was Kitty. Rather or not that was her actual name was something I was trying to decide. She smiled widely at me as she was beginning to speak.
"Oh honey that's a nice push you have and you're a cutie yourself. But you're up against a lady now, and ladies fight gracefully. So I forbid you to use your push and fight me like a lady." She said making me look at her with an eyebrow raised slightly and confused. Fight like a lady? What did that mean? The referee moved back as he raised his arms into the air. He then crossed them over and bent down slightly.
"Begin!" He shouted. Kitty quickly ran at me making me put my feet apart and get my hands in front of me. I suddenly felt something rake across my face making me jump back as Kitty stood on the stop. I quickly touched my cheek and pulled my hand away. There was blood on my fingers. I looked back at her in shock.
"Kitty has landed the first hit on Mishka after glaring a no pushing rule! Mishka looks all too shocked by what she's done!" The announcer said as the crowd cheered.
"Y-you scratched me!" I shouted at her as she placed her hands on her hips and smirked at me.
"Lady fighting, also known as "Cat fighting" honey. It's how girls fight, bite, scratch and pull." She said to me as I looked up slightly crossing my arms over my chest to think to myself.
"But kitty cats are cute." I said to her.
I heard someone storm in front of me and looked directly at the Kitty who had her face close to mine. She looked really angry at what I had said.
"What was that?!" She yelled at me making me move back slightly with a small smile on my face and my brows furrowed.
"Cats are cute?" I said again questioning. She suddenly grabbed the hair on top of my head and began pulling at it towards her. I grabbed her wrists tightly and clenched my teeth together while closing my eyes tightly.
"Are you saying I'm not cute?! What would you know any way you fight as if a boy taught you, rolling about on the floor!" She said as she kept tugging at me hair.
"Hey come on let go that really hurts!" I said to her putting my hands onto hers to try and pry away at her fingers. I managed to slip my fingers into her hand and began pulling away at the fingers. I caught on and used her other hand to grab my nose. I clenched my teeth tightly, feeling pain shoot up. It felt like my head was going to explode. I quickly let go of her hand and grabbed her other wrist. I then lifted my right foot off the ground and swung my leg towards her side. She quickly let go of my hair and nose and fell onto the floor, not expecting me to kick her. I backed away from her and turned around. I dropped down to balance on the balls of my feet and placed my hands above my nose. I moved my hands away and looked down at my nose cross eyed, trying to see if it got misplaced or damaged anymore.
"You kicked me!" She yelled at me making me look over my shoulder with a surprised look on my face.
"You pulled my hair and grabbed my nose and scratched me! That really hurt!" I shouted back to her and stood up, turning around quickly on the balls of me feet. Kitty got back up onto her feet and glared at me.
"The fighters seem to be having a dispute! Is this the first time Mishka has ever been in a girl-on-girl fight? It sure seems like it everyone!" The announcer shouted as the crowd continued cheering.
I continued to stare at Kitty as she glared at me.
"Okay, so you don't understand girl on girl fighting. I can only assume you've been taught by a boy and hanging around with those two young boys all the time doesn't help." Kitty said, closing her eyes and shrugging her shoulders as she lifted her hands up slightly. She then looked back at me with a smirk on her face.
"If you want to fight like a dirty man then we'll fight like dirty men." She said to me as I parted my feet again and glared at her myself. I made my hands into fists and held them in front of me, getting myself ready for any sort of attack she was going to throw at me. Kitty ran at me again as I did the same keeping a glare on my face. She threw out her hand once more aiming to scratch my face; I couldn't really do the same as I didn't grow my nails. I grabbed her hand interlocking my fingers between hers. She smiled widely at her as she threw her other hand at my face, hitting me square on the forehead with the palm of her hand. I closed my eyes tightly and stumbled back, removing my hand from hers.
"Mishka seems to be struggling this fight! Is the rookie's no losing streak going to come to an end?" I heard the announcer shout as I heard Kitty laugh. I rubbed my forehead with the back of my hand.
"Let me tell you know cutie. I'm a Hunter, so you're not going to beat me easily." She said to me as she stuck her fingers down her top and removed a card that hung on a chain around her neck. I looked at her questionably as I dropped my hand back down to my side.
"Oh, really? I am too." I said to her as she looked at me in disbelief.
"Really? I cute little thing like you? There's no way you're too young what are you ten or something?" Kitty said to me as I looked at her puffing my cheeks out and glaring at her.
"I'm twelve!" I shouted at her as she looked at me in bigger shock.
"Really? Now there's a surprise." She said as she came tucked the card back down her top once more.
She came rushing at me again and threw her hand towards my face once more, this time trying to grab my hair. I quickly ducked underneath her and rolled away from her, trying to keep my distance until I could figure out how to beat her. She said fight like "men" so I guess that meant I could push her now. The only problem was she didn't give me much of an opening so I couldn't get anywhere to push her.
"You can do it Mishka!" I heard a familiar voice shout and quickly looked up at the crowd. I saw Gon standing up waving his arms about like a mad man and Killua sitting next to him with his arms and legs crossed.
"Uh-huh." I said to myself and nodded my head a little.
"Who are you nodding to? Are you boyfriends in the crowd?" She questioned me as she turned around to face me again. I nodded my head with a wide smile on my face.
"They're my best friends." I said to her as she raised an eyebrow slightly and gave me a questioning look.
"Not that kind of friend honey. But whatever, I'll end your winning streak right now." She said as she rushed at me again. I parted my feet once more and bent down a little at the knees with my hands by my sides. She launched her hand towards me once more making duck quickly under her arm. She looked at me surprised as I threw my arms forward, hitting her right in the chest. I heard her squeal as I pushed her and sent her out of the ring into the wall. She hit the wall behind her hard making me wince.
"Critical hit and knock down! Three points!" The referee shouted as shouted as the crowd continued to cheer. Kitty began sitting up with her arms crossed over her chest as she looked at me with her eyes wide and brows furrowed.
"Y-You pushed my boobs! I'm not fighting you if you're going to do that! I quit!" She shouted as she began climbing out of the wall that she landed in. I looked at her questionably as she told the referee she refused to fight me, making me the winner by default. What was wrong with doing that? All I did was push her in the chest; it wasn't that big a deal with it? Kitty turned her head to me as she looked at my questioning face with her disbelief one.
"Don't look at me like that! Just because you don't have any doesn't mean you can do it to others!" She shouted before storming out of the arena. I still didn't get what she meant but decided to leave it for now.
"Mishka has once again one her match with her pushing attack! She along with the rookies Gon and Killua have successfully cleared the one hundred and ninety's! All three have advanced to the two hundreds!" The announcer shouted as I left the arena to quickly catch up with Gon and Killua up the top of the stands.
We all met up with each other quickly at the stands and left to make our way to the elevator to reach the two hundredth floor. I told Gon and Killua what had happened at the beginning of my match, as they had arrived sometime after it started.
"She scratched your face and said you were cat fighting?!" Gon questioned me as I nodded my head. I furrowed my brows slightly and gave him a small smile whilst rubbing my cheek slightly, it was beginning to sting.
"Yeah, but I don't even know what cat fighting is! So it's really confusing." I said to him as he nodded his head.
"Doesn't sound very fair." Killua commented as me and Gon nodded our heads in agreement.
"Not one bit, not if it includes pulling hair and scratching faces. I'm just glad she didn't bite me." I said to them as we continued making our way towards the elevator. We had come to the conclusion that the announcer wanted to announce our advancement at the same time, which was understandable I guess. She had announced Gon and Killua's win but never that they were advancing, that was announced after I won. A uniformed lady had found us and told us to follow her. We followed her to an elevator and stood inside it, with me standing in between Gon and Killua. She bowed to us as the doors began closing.
"Enjoy." She said simply as we smiled widely at her. We looked up at the numbers, watching them change as we went up to the two hundredth floor.
"What's the two hundredth floor like?" Gon asked Killua, as he was the one that got up to this floor before.
"Beats me. I've never been up here before." Killua said as me and Gon looked at him confused. Never been here before? Oh yeah! He said he had quit after getting to the two hundredth floor but never said he had actually stepped foot on it.
The elevator stopped on floor two hundred. Me and Gon quickly rushed out as Killua walked out calmly. The hallway looked posh and really clean. The walls were wallpapered and had wood on them, and the doors looked just as fancy as the hall way. The carpet was a red colour, making it look even more posh.
"Wow! The two hundredth floor is so fancy!" Gon said looking up and down the hallway as I nodded my head agreeing with him.
"Such a big difference to the one hundredth floor!" I said looking up and down the hall way myself with a wide smile on my face.
"Where's the receptionist?" Killua said as he looked around. He looked up and saw a sign pointing to the right.
"This way?" He questioned looking to his right. He began walking that way with me and Gon following him closely. Gon stood in the middle of me and Killua as we walked up the wide hallway.
"We finally made it." Gon said amazed.
"Yeah." Killua said agreeing as I nodded my head. I didn't think I would make it up to this floor, not in a million years.
We stopped at a dark hallway. Looking down it the three of us suddenly went wide eyed and stood still, daring not to move down it. It felt threatening, just like Wing did earlier. I could feel the shiver run up my spin as I looked down the hallway. I felt scared, not scared enough for my vision to turn red but scared enough not to go down the hall way. Killua glared down the hallway.
"Let's go." He said making me snap my head at him, thinking he was insane! Why would we want to go down there? It was threatening, the air felt chocking. Killua was the first one to move forward. Gon followed behind him as I followed after Gon. I ended up in the middle of the two as we walked forward. However, as we did, the feeling of threat grew stronger and made us stop walking. My eyes went wide as my knees shook; it felt as if we were going to be killed, no longer threatening, but killed. Gon looked at me and Killua, his eyes still wide.
"This is a murderous intent, aimed at us." Gon said making my eyes go wider as Killua's did the same. Killua looked away from Gon and back down the hallway once more.
"Hey! Who's there? Show yourself!" He shouted down the hallway as the killer like instinct continued to flow towards us. A lady stepped out from behind the wall. She had purple hair and blue eyes. She wore the uniform. She looked…tired. The three of us gasped, was she the one with the murderous intent? She smiled at us as she looked at us.
"Killua, Gon and Mishka, correct? The receptionist's desk is over here, so please register for a two hundreds match today. You won't be able to register after midnight, so please be careful." She said, pointing her hand towards the hallway where the receptionist's desk was.
"Was she the source of all that?" Gon whispered to me and Killua. I swallowed the lump in my throat.
"If that's just the staff, I don't want to see the contestants." I whispered back to them.
"I can't tell." Killua whispered back himself as we stared at the tired looking woman. She moved her head slightly as she began talking to us once more.
"By the way, there are currently one hundred, seventy-three contestants in the two hundreds class. And starting from the two hundreds, all weapons are allowed in matches. So please use whatever you have. Also, you will no longer receive prize money in the two hundreds class. You will only fight for glory, so please understand that if you're going to participate." She said to us, never taking her eyes off us, her tired look never leaving her face. No prize money? It didn't matter anyway, we had gathered up enough money to last us for a long time and all we wanted to do was get to the top of this arena; that was it.
I saw something glisten next to the woman's head. A card turned in the air and was suddenly thrown to our feet. Appearing behind the woman was a familiar red headed man. His clothes had changed and he stood with his hands on his hips. The woman looked behind her and then squeaked, only to run away from the man as he turned his head to face us over his shoulder. The three of us looked at him in shock.
"H-Hisoka… Why are you here?" Killua stuttered as we stared at him. This man was terrifying. Gon had begun to sweat as the knees shook a little more, not allowing me to walk forward but now allowed me to run away either. I could feel my face beginning to sweat to as I stared at the magician. He had information for me and my brother, I knew he wouldn't give it to me now no matter how much I asked; but did I really want to know right now? No, not while he was here. He scared me, I couldn't do it.
"It's hardly that strange. I love to fight, and this is a temple to fighting. And why are you here?" He questioned us. He had a head on his head as he looked at up. He looked taller than before, almost as if he was wearing heels. I didn't dare ask him though; he could open my throat right there and then if he wanted it.
"Just kidding… This was no coincidence. I've been waiting for you. Remember how you ordered airship tickets over the cybernet? With a little effort, it's possible to determine where and when someone will arrive. Well, I knew you would come here eventually. And so, as a veteran, I have a warning for you." He said dropping his arm from his forehead. He looked at us through his yellow eyes making us stiffen as he spoke about his warning.
"It's still too early for you boys and girl to step on this floor." He said as he lifted his arm towards us. He flicked his hand, sending a gust of air towards us. The floor of us gasped and covered our faces with our arms as the air hit us, sending our air flying back off our face. The woman's hat had fallen off her head from the wind as she looked around confused.
"How early depends on your efforts. Leave for now. It's too early right now." Hisoka said as he walked back to the wall and sat down, crossing his legs over.
Killua became angry at his words and raised a fist close to his face as he leaned forward to yell at Hisoka.
"That's stupid! We just got up here…" Killua began saying as he walked forward, only to stop and looked at Hisoka with fear. Hisoka had his hand outstretched towards us as he propped a knee up with his left arm leaning lazily on it. The presence felt threatening and murderous all at the same time, making my knees shake harder. I had to get away, I just had to. This wasn't comfortable and I feared for our lives.
"I won't let you pass. Not that you could, anyway." Hisoka said as the presence got stronger. We had to cover our faces as the atmosphere began pushing us back. I couldn't help but move slightly so the wind hit my arm. Gon tried pushing himself forward, how he found the strength to do that was beyond me. Me and Killua stayed glued to the spot as Gon moved forward with difficulty.
"Don't be reckless!" We heard someone shout, immediately stopping the threatening and murderous wind.
We looked behind us and saw Wing come out from behind the wall.
"Wing!" Me and Gon shouted as he looked at us sternly.
"You have no defence against his Nen." Wing said making Gon look at him questionably.
"Nen?" Gon said to him. Is that what Hisoka had? Nen? It was so threatening though much more then Wing's. I didn't think Nen could physically hurt someone like that, I thought it was used literally to warn off people.
"Right now, you're like someone standing naked in a blizzard, wondering why it's cold. If you continue to strain your body, you may die." Wing said to us bluntly making me look at him in shock. I couldn't die! Not right here and not now! Killua turned to Wing, and pointed his thumb at Hisoka.
"This is Nen?! He can stop us moving forward through willpower? Don't lie!" Killua shouted at him, glaring up at the man. Wing dropped his head slightly and smiled at us.
"Yes, I was lying." He said making us look at him in shock. I couldn't help but glare at him.
"Lying's not nice; it can be seen as a sin!" I said to him, glaring at him. I guess some of my brothers views had rubbed off on me, but he still shouldn't have lied.
"Though technically, I wasn't lying completely. I will teach you the truth about Nen. So retreat for now." Wing said to us, removing his hands from his back and holding his arm open.
Gon turned to the receptionist as I did the same after I stopped glaring at Wing. Killua turned his head a little to look at her.
"Hey, receptionist lady." Gon asked her making the woman stiffen slightly.
"Oh, yes?" She asked him. Gon raised his hand slightly as we continued to stare at the woman.
"What happens if we don't register for a fight today?" Gon asked her as Killua turned around fully to face the woman.
"Gon and Mishka, you two would have to start again, from the first floor." She said pointing to the both of us as she smiled at us. She still looked very tired. She then looked at Killua and pointed her hand to him.
"However, Killua refused to register once before. So if he fails to register again, his commitment will be questioned, and he will be banned from participating." The lady said to us making Gon look at her in disbelief. I looked at her shocked myself that was unfair in a way! What If something came up and you couldn't register? It seemed so unfair. Killua turned away, grunting is disappointment. He turned his attention back to Wing as silence fell on the three of us. Me and Gon turned to face Killua probably as he spoke to Wing.
"Hey, Wing. If we back down now, will we be able to return here by midnight?" Killua asked him, dropping his head slightly to look at Wing from the top of his eyelids. Gon smiled slightly at Killua before turning his attention back to Wing. I turned my attention back to Wing too, more angry that he lied. Wing stared at us in shock for a few seconds before shock ran over his face.
"That depends on you." He told us simply.
The three of us had followed Wing back to his house once more. We were determined to learn Nen by midnight, we had to get past Hisoka; there was no question about that. Wing stood next to us with his hands behind his back. I stood in the middle of Gon and Killua. We stared at a flower pot that was over filled with water, but had flowers growing from the side of the pot.
"Simply put, this is Nen. Nen refers to the ability to manipulate your aura, also known as life energy. Every person possesses a small amount of life energy. But in most cases, it's simply discharged." Wing said as he began walking back to the bored. Zushi watched him carefully as Gon, Killua and I turned around to face him.
"The ability to build up a shroud of life energy is known as Ten. You can make your body harder, and considerably slow the effects of aging. Then comes Zetsu. As you may guess, that nullifies your aura." Wing said as he wrote on the white board what their simples were. The simples were completely different to the ones written on before.
"It is effective for concealing your presence and recovering from extreme fatigue. Which brings us to Ren. A technique to create an especially strong aura." He said to us. I soon felt something and couldn't help but gasp slightly with Gon and Killua. Wing stood in front of us and smiled slightly, his hands behind his back.
"Can you feel that?" He asked us.
"Yeah, I can feel the pressure." Killua said as I nodded my head slightly, furrowing my brows.
"It's uncomfortable." I said looking at Wing closely.
"But it doesn't feel dangerous." Gon said, turning his head to the two of us. I nodded my head agreeing, it was uncomfortable, but not dangerous. Not like Hisoka's from earlier.
"That's because I have no hostile intent." He said as the three of us smiled in relief to each other, happy that at least he wasn't hostile towards us. We looked back at Wing once more with serious expressions as he began talking to us once more.
"Aura is an energy that comes from within humans. Which makes it very effective against other humans. For better or worse. If you attack a helpless person, with ill intent, you can use aura to kill." Wing explained to us.
I could feel myself stiffen, auras could kill. Is that what Hisoka was trying to do when his Nen was pushing us back? I didn't like the sound of it and if I was honest Nen sounded like a very dangerous thing to mess about with. Wing began walking away from the board.
"Only one thing can protect you from someone who uses Nen." He said as we followed his back with our eyes, turning our heads to follow him as he walked. I stopped walking and continued with his explanation.
"You must also learn to use Nen. You must use Ten for defence. Block the other person's aura with your own. Otherwise…" Wing said as he placed his fingertips against the wall. I could feel his aura once more as he stared at the wall. Suddenly, the wall cracked into a crater. I couldn't help but slam my hand over my mouth in shock with my eyes wide and brows furrowed. Gon and Killua looked at him with wide eyes and shock, their mouths open as Wing turned around.
"Your body will be crushed." Wing said to us simply, looking at us with a serious expression. We all looked at him in shock. That could have been us if we continued to stand in the way of Hisoka's Nen; I was scared, if that's what Nen could do did I really want to learn it? Well, I had no choice; I wouldn't be able to register otherwise. I needed to learn this very dangerous ability. Something also played on my mind. If what Wing and Hisoka used was Nen, what was Kai using? I didn't know if I wanted to find out, but at the same time I did. I knew I had to ask Wing some other time when we weren't trying to learn Nen in the space of three hours.
