A big thank you to Rina Dragonfly, Just A Cadbury, Anime lover, and all silent readers!
Rina Dragonfly – Kai is just a mysterious person in general, and if I'm honest he's actually my favourite OC
Just A Cadbury – Thank you dear :D
Anime lover – It is shorter yes, most of the chapters I do go anywhere from twelve pages to fifteen, however the last one was only nine. I do plan to do all arcs, but it mostly goes on how I end up writing the story. It may end with Mishka going with Kurapika in the end by which the story will end or she may continue with Gon and Killua. All up in the air at the moment. The only thing I can say for certain is that I am planning a sequel. I haven't watched the movie yet no, but by the sounds of things it wasn't that impressive. Seeing Kurapika hurt? Would I be mean if I said it doesn't make me uncomfortable in the slightest?

We continued to stare at the wall that was now dented and cratered. Wing had allowed us to get over the shock of what had happened and to allow us to calm down. Zushi didn't seem affected by it what so ever, then again I could only assume he already knew that was what Wing could do. I moved my eyes from the crater and looked at Wing as he began talking once more.
"Nen is a power that dwells within every person. However, at present, only a few people are capable of using that power. Thus they are treated as geniuses, leaders, psychics, mystics or super-humans." Wing explained to us as he looked down to us; the glare on his glasses returning. So, not everyone could use it; it was a scary thought when people like Hisoka and Gittarackur could use it.
"A power that dwells in everyone…" Gon said, trailing off his sentence. I stood quiet trying to take in everything; it was actually hard for me to understand. Wing nodded his head as he continued to stare down at us.
"Yes. And there are two means by which to awaken this power." Wing started, lifting up his hand and then showing two fingers. I watched him carefully with wide eyes as the other two had serious looks on their faces.
"The deliberate way and the aggressive way. Zushi underwent the deliberate method. He was a quick learner, and he trained hard. So he was able to master Ten in a very short time. In about six months." Wing explained, putting a hand onto Zushi's back. Zushi stood smiling with a determined look on his face, happy to be given praise by Wing. I couldn't help but furrow my brows at his last part; we couldn't wait six months that was too long.
"That's too long… We need to learn Ten, and pass Hisoka's Nen barrier before midnight!" Killua said to him, stepping forward.
"Then you'll have to try the aggressive method." Wing said to us, making Killua lean forward towards Wing as me and Gon remained quiet.
"Will it be fast enough?" He questioned him.
"That will depend on you. Can you learn to hold your aura within your body, before time runs out? That is the key." Wing questioned us as he lifted up his hand. That first part again "That will depend on you." That was his answer for yesterday as well as he was giving us false information.
We had to try, that was the only solution, we had to try. We had to get pass Hisoka before midnight, this was the only thing we could do. I couldn't help but wonder though, would it be painful? It sounded like it would be by Wing's description. Wing looked at us through the bottom of his glasses, the glare vanishing from them.
"I will now direct my aura towards you. This is known as Hatsu, which I demonstrated earlier." He said making the three of us gasp. That was how he created the crater in the wall behind him. I furrowed my brows once more that could destroy us there and then; it really did sound painful. Wing dropped his hand back to his side as the glare on his glasses returned.
"Naturally, I will restrain myself, since my objective is not to destroy your bodies." He said to us. I could hear Gon and Killua clench their hands into fists as I fiddled with the sleeve of my shirt. I tried my best to look as determined as them, even though I was nervous and scared.
"However, this way is still perilous. In other words, I will attempt to shock you into awakening." He said, making me and Gon swallow the lumps in our throats and Killua shift his weight slightly to stand more comfortably.
"I will give your sleeping body a jolt, so you can learn Ten more easily. I say that your bodies sleep because your body's openings, or micropyles, are closed, meaning that your aura flow is stunted. Therefore, I will send my aura into your bodies, to open your micropyles." Wing explained to us, only making me more confused. I have to be honest, I had no idea what he was saying, it all sounded like a mess to me. Openings. Micropyles. I had no idea what any of it meant, but if it meant us getting past Hisoka I would have to endure the complicated words.
"Under normal circumstances, you would spend a long time meditating and discovering your own auras, while slowly opening those apertures. Even Zushi, a natural talent, required three months." Wing explained some more.
Gon, Killua and me all looked at Zushi, who stood there with a smirk on his face from the praise he was getting. Silence fell between us as we looked back at Wing once more.
"However, Killua and Gon, you could do it in a week, or even sooner. Mishka, you could do it in a month or sooner." He said making the three of us gasp at his words. I would take longer than Gon and Killua, but it would still be quicker than Zushi; I guess that was something to brag about in a way.
"Which is why I find it unfortunate that we have such little time to work with." Wing said to us as he lifted his hand to adjust his glasses once more. If they kept slipping off his nose why didn't he get a tighter pair? Well that was neither here or there right now and I shouldn't be thinking about that right now.
"I don't really get it… But quick and dirty is always better." Killua said as he linked his hands behind his head. Wing lifted his head up once more, removing his hand from his glasses.
"This is a shady, highly frowned upon method. You will be ignoring the correct procedure." Wing explained as Killua dropped his hands back into his pockets. I decided to speak up this time.
"It goes against everything I've been taught, but we need to do it this way otherwise we'll never get past Hisoka in time." I said to him looking at him determined. If my brother found out I was doing something shady and frowned upon or even going against something that had a correct procedure he would tell me off, he would get so angry at me; he might even ground me again if he found out; it wasn't fun being grounded the first time.
"You could even die, if the person using this method were weak or evil." Wing explained to us once more, trying to get us to change our minds.
"But you aren't weak, and you aren't evil. Right?" Gon said then asked, hoping he was right about his assumptions of Wing.
Silence fell on all of us. Wing placed a hand on his hip and his other hand on his head as he looked down and sighed, frustrated about us not changing our minds even after everything he told us.
"That's why I want to know… Why would you suddenly decide to teach us the true four major principles?" Killua asked Wing. Wing dropped the hand from his head and the hand from his hip as he looked up back at us, furrowing his brows.
"Because I did not want to squander this opportunity. If you were to challenge the two hundreds, with none of this knowledge, you would suffer greatly. Up there, everyone knows how to manipulate Nen." Wing said to us. I furrowed my brows once more and began fiddling with the sleeves of my shirt again. Gon hunched his shoulders slightly as he looked at Wing, more determined than before to learn Ten. Killua looked at Wing more determined himself, making me want to bring up my more determined face as well.
"And they have a special greeting for any newcomer ignorant of Nen, a Nen attack. In other words, they do what I'm about to, but without restraint. They don't care, even if people die…" He said to us, glaring at us slightly although not directly to us. I couldn't help but swallow the lump in my throat, Hisoka was really set out to kill us, or so it seemed.
"Only those who survive are allowed to pass. They are the chosen. However, they pay a steep price. That's why I wanted you to be prepared." Wing said to us once more as he lifted up his hand again and began glowing that white glow once more.
"Now, despite my attempt to scare you, I have confidence that this will awaken your power! You have the potential. As well as the ability. Put your belongings down; take off your shirt, and turn your backs towards me. I can only do two people at a time so one of you will need to go last." Wing told us. The three of us looked at each other, mentally deciding. Gon and Killua would go first so I could prepare myself for what would happen. The three of us took off our bags and dumped them into one of the armchairs. Gon took off his green jacket, Killua took off the black jumper and I took off my dress tabard; we dumped our tops onto the chair on top of our bags. Gon and Killua stood with their back towards Wing as he held his hands out to their backs. I looked at them determined and fiddled with my shirt sleeve as I watched what was about to take place.
I stood next to Zushi as we watched what Wing was doing. Wing took a step back. I could see the fear on Gon and Killua's faces, it made me so uncomfortable and it wasn't even me standing there yet. Wing closed his eyes and opened them once more, gaining his own composer. I couldn't tell if he was touching their backs or not.
"I'll begin." He said simply. He's eyes opened a little wider as the room filled with a bright white light. I heard Gon and Killua scream, making me close my eyes tightly and cover my ears tightly. It wasn't a pleasant sound and one I hoped not to hear. It sounded painful. Just as quickly as it started it finished. I opened one eye and then the other as I looked at Gon and Killua with wide eyes. They both glowed a white aura, much like Wing did.
"Every micropyle on your bodies has opened." Wing said as he adjusted his glasses and nodded his head at me to come forward as well. I swallowed the lump in my throat and took a deep breath. Gon and Killua looked at themselves in disbelief.
"Th-this is…" Killua began saying as I walked past the two and turned my back to Wing, breathing heavily to myself and try and prepare myself for what was going to happen. Gon and Killua turned to their sides to look at Wing as he began talking.
I could feel a pressure near my back, but he wasn't touching me. It was hot, and made me feel uncomfortable. I couldn't help but hunch my shoulders as I fiddled with the sleeve of my shirt once more and furrowed my brows frowning widely to myself. I was scared, very scared.
"That is your aura, or life energy. You can see it now, because the micropyles in your eyes were also opened." Wing said to them. I knew he was explaining, but it also felt like he was delaying doing the same to me; maybe because I was so nervous? I didn't know; but I didn't like the delay. Gon lifted his hands near his face.
"It's like smoke. Like steam, rising from the spout of a kettle." Gon said looking at his hands. Killua did the same with his hands, looking at them with disbelief.
"It's rushing out from every part of my body. It won't stop gushing out. Isn't that dangerous?" Killua said and then asked as I watched their auras. It was coming out so fast and made me more nervous then I should have been. They turned to face each other shocked by what was happening. I stiffened. Dangerous? Was this another attempt by Wing to try and scare me out of going through the aggressive method? Is that why he was delaying? So I could see what everything would look like once he finished it? Know, why would he do that? I wanted to say it wasn't working but it was. I just wanted this to be done quickly.
"This is your life energy, so if it continued to escape out you will grow tired. If you expend all of your aura, you will collapse from fatigue." Wing said, making me swallow the lump in my throat again as I watched my two friends. Killua turned to face Wing slightly more after him and Gon got over the initial shock.
"Really?" Killua asked him, not sure if he should believe him.
"I am going to open Mishka's micropyles, and then I will instruct you on what to do next." Wing said as the other two nodded. I closed my eyes tightly getting ready for what was about to happen, even though nothing was yet. It suddenly felt like my back was being ripped open. I tried closing my eyes tighter and couldn't help but let out a scream myself at the feeling.
As quickly as the ripping sensation came it left. I could feel the pressure lift from my back, the hot feeling going away making me open my eyes again. I quickly jogged away from Wing and in between Gon and Killua. My breathing was heavy, I was terrified and I shouldn't have been, I began thinking maybe it was down to the fact that it hurt so much. I could feel the stares of Gon and Killua and looked at them quickly before looking at my own hands. My eyes widened, it looked like smoke was coming out from my skin.
"It worked." I muttered quietly to myself. Wing clapped his hands together, making the three of us look at him. I dropped my hands to my sides as I watched him.
"Listen to me. You must concentrate on keeping your aura within your body. Close your eyes!" Wing commended us. The three of us closed our eyes like he told us to, it was better to listen to him at this point on.
"Use any stance that helps you to focus. Then visualize your aura flowing like blood through your body. From the top of your head, to your right shoulder. To your hand, before passing through your legs, to your left side. And now visualize that flow beginning to ebb and hovering around your body." He said to us. I felt myself getting looser, losing the stiffness I had in my body before. My shoulders dropped as my breathing calmed. Just visualize everything, make it seem natural; that's what it sounded like to me. I kept my eyes closed, visualizing everything like he said to us; it was actually the calmest I had felt all evening.
We stood in silence for I don't know how long. I didn't want to leave this silence, it was calm and I felt relaxed as if I had nothing to worry about. Though that was far from the truth. It felt warm, it was comforting.
"Slowly open your eyes. How do you feel?" Wing said to us. I slowly opened my eyes and blinked a couple of times to clear my vision. Gon lifted his hands up once more to look at them after he opened his eyes.
"I feel like I'm surrounded by some kind of warm mucus." Gon said making Killua nod his head as he looked at one hand.
"Yeah, like I'm wearing weightless clothes." Killua said making me nod my head in response. I looked at my hands bringing them close to my face. It was as if I was glowing.
"Uh-huh, it's comforting in a way, the warmth." I said as Gon nodded his head.
"Continue to maintain those images. Once you've assimilated them, you'll be able to use Ten while asleep." Wing said as he began glowing himself. His aura was a purple colour and started spreading throughout the room. I couldn't help but take a small step back as Wing lifted his hand towards us.
"Next, I'll use hostile Nen towards you!" He said, making the purple aura come towards us. The three of us stood there, Gon and Killua glaring at Wing as I watched him carefully. It didn't hurt this time, not like with Hisoka earlier where it was pushing us back. This time, it was as if it wasn't even there.
"Previously, it would have been painful for you to stand within this." Wing said to us. Killua nodded his head, agreeing with Wing.
"Yeah, I understand your blizzard analogy now." Killua said to him as the boys switched from their glares to looks of determination. I did the same. It no longer hurt, it no longer pushed us back, and we could pass Hisoka no problem now.
"If you can fend off my Nen, you'll be able to break through his barrier! Here I come!" Wing shouted at us, preparing to send off a more powerful form of Nen then he had done already. I mentally prepared myself and couldn't help but take a slightly step back, steadying myself even though there probably wasn't a need for it now. Gon and Killua got ready themselves, waiting for Wing's attack. He sent out a powerful blast of his Nen towards us, out of instinct the three of us screamed as it hit us.
We withstood Wing's attack and much to my surprise we came out unscathed. Wing lowered his arm and smiled at us slightly, his glasses glaring up as he brought his head down. The three of us couldn't help but look at each other surprised that we weren't hurt. We looked at Wing as he started talking and let our aura's vanish since he had stopped his attack. Wing's dropped his arms to his sides as he looked at us.
"Listen to me, Gon, Killua, Mishka. Ten is purely a defensive technique. You have not improved your offensives capabilities. Plus, you will still take damage from psychical attacks." Wing said to us as we stared at him, listening to his explanation. So we only knew defensive, we knew nothing of offensive yet. I guess that was understandable, he only took interest in teaching us properly once we reached floor two hundred, plus we only needed Ten for now as we had to get past Hisoka.
"A highly killed Nen opponent will be able to penetrate your Ten, and deal a lethal blow." He said as he held up two fingers to us.
"So you should wait two months before you start fighting. During that time, I will teach you as much as I can." Wing said to us as the three of us nodded our heads, understanding.
We looked at the clock, it was ten o'clock. We had to get back now if we wanted to register. We looked back at Wing, determined smiles on our faces and nodded our heads.
"Thank you." The three of us said to him at the same time as we quickly ran over to the chair with our belongings. I quickly pulled my dress tabard over my head and flattened it down with my hands as I grabbed my back and flung it over my shoulder. Gon quickly put on his jacket and zipped it up as Killua pulled over his jumper. The two boys flung on their bags as we said out final thanks to Wing and quickly left his house. We ran towards the arena, knowing if we wanted to make it on time we had to get there quickly. I was proud, I was proud for learning something knew, it was painful to do even though it was only for a split second or two, I was proud for withstanding it. The only thing now was that I couldn't tell my brother I had learnt to use Nen, or at least Ten, through the aggressive method; I had to keep that to myself. I could see the Tower coming into view, making the three of us pick up our speed that little bit more.
The three of us made it to Heaven's Arena safely and just in time to take on Hisoka's attack. We bundled into the elevator. Killua pressed the button multiple times to take us up to floor two hundred. The elevator took only a minute to reach floor two hundred, but to me it felt like an eternity. Maybe because I wasn't looking forward to having to face Hisoka's attack, even though I knew I could withstand it. We quickly jumped out of the elevator and began rushing our way to the hallway where Hisoka lurked. Me, Gon and Killua all concentrated on Ten, making our aura's show to protect ourselves against his attacks. Finding it quickly the three of us took our first steps into it, looking at Hisoka with a glare. He looked at us from over his arm; he was still sitting on the floor with a knee propped and an arm lazily over it. Had he been sitting there waiting for us all this time? He smirked at us as we stood in the hall way looking at him with serious looks and glared. He laughed a little to himself and sent out a powerful purple aura at us. Whilst it hit the three of us, it didn't harm us. We continued to stare at him with the same looks as before. We walked forward, if anything I wanted to run away from him, listen to what my brother said and that was run from Hisoka; but I couldn't do that. I got this far, I had to continue moving forward. The three of us stepped forward through the purple aura, not feeling its harm as Hisoka kept smirking at us. The purple aura broke away as we exited the hallway and stood in front of the magician, looking at him with our serious looks and glared.
"Welcome to the two hundreds. It appears I needn't bother with the traditional greeting. I can guess why you've come to Heavens Arena. You intended to train before challenging me…" Hisoka said, lowering an eyebrow as one stayed raised. His question was directed at Gon.
"Yeah, but I didn't expect to find you here. That saves me time." Gon said to him, confidence radiating from him. I couldn't help but admire him for it, I wish I had just a sliver of the confidence all the time that Gon showed right now.
Hisoka laughed at Gon's statement.
"You should avoid being overconfident in your ability to use Ten." Hisoka said to him as he began glowing a white glow. The magician held up two fingers, making them glow a slight purple.
"There is much to learn about Nen." Hisoka said to us, making the purple glows connect and form a spade shape, much like the ones of the cards he threw to hurt and kill people.
"To be honest, at present, I feel no urge to fight you." He said as the spade soon changed to a skill. My eyes widened slightly not only at his statement but what he could do with his own Nen. Hisoka stood up, dropping one hand to his side and keeping the other up with one finger pointing up, the purple aura still active around it. The glow soon vanished as Hisoka began speaking once more.
"However… If you manage to win a single match in the two hundreds, I shall accept your challenge." Hisoka said to Gon, the smirk never leaving his face. Hisoka turned away and began walking down the hallway away from us. The three of us watched him leave. I could feel my own aura go and watched as Gon and Killua's disappeared to now that there wasn't a need to have Ten active.
"Let's go." Killua said as we watched Hisoka's retreating back. Me and Gon turned our head to face Killua and nodded, following after him.
We found the receptionist and stood in front of her. She was a cheerful lady. She had blue short hair and pinkish eyes; she wore the pink and blue uniform with pink hat on her head.
"Welcome to the two hundreds! Please fill out these forms!" She said to us cheerful and full of enthusiasm with a wide smile. She held out the forms for us to take. Instead of us taking them she placed them on the counter in front of us as we watched her.
"Would you like to register for a match now?" She asked us making the three of us look at each other in question. I was still trying to get my head around how she could be so happy when it was so late. We looked back at her wide eyed as she began talking with her overly happy voice and happy attitude.
"In this class, there is a self-service system by which you are permitted ninety day of preparation. You may choose to fight on any day during that time. Of course, you're free to fight every day, and you can also wait until the very last day to fight. Once you've participated in a fight, you have another ninety days to prepare. However if you don't fight before those ninety days end, you will be disqualified, and your name will be struck from all records." She explained to us, the smile on her face never leaving. That was an interesting way to go about things that was for sure. It made more sense than trying to get my head around Nen that was for sure; then again at the moment everything seemed simpler than Nen.
"Does that mean we'll be fighting in this class multiple times?" Gon asked her. The woman jumped slightly as she continued smiling widely at us.
"Yes. You need ten wins to clear this floor. However, if you lose four times before ten wins, you'll be disqualified. And, if you win ten times, you have a chance to challenge the floor masters!" She said to us, overly happy and excited with her arms out stretched. I could feel myself stiffen and brows furrow, only four loses before ten wins and we were out. I was going to be disqualified for sure; until my opponent took pity on me then I might win. This was going to be so hard for me.
"The Floor Masters are the twenty-one strongest fighters here. Each claims one of the floors, from two hundred and thirty to two hundred and fifty. Do you understand now? If you defeat a Floor Master, you become the new master of that floor!" She said to us as we stepped closer to the counter. We looked up at her with wide eyes still. Killua had his hands in his pockets whilst Gon had his hands on the counter. I had to stand on my toes slightly with my hands on the counter as I looked at her with wide eyes. She sure was happy.
"Th-that's not all!" She said and slammed her hands onto the counter in front of her as she looked at us with a serious look.
"If you become a Floor Master, you earn the right to participate in the biennial celebration of combat, Battle Olympia!" She said to us excitedly once more. I wasn't too interested in that, I just wanted to get stronger; plus my brother's not going to be too happy to find out I was training this way, earning money while fighting it could be seen as cage fighting. He wouldn't be very happy if I was a floor master and participated in Battle Olympia just to show of strength. It didn't sound all that fun anyway. Instead, the three of us continued to stare at her wide eyed, not changing her looks or stance at all despite her happy attitude. It must have spooked her a little bit because she jumped at our lack of reaction.
"Forget that. Is there anything special about the top floor?" Killua said to her, not interested in any of that himself. The woman pressed her hands against the glass that separated her from us as she glared down at us.
"That's what you want to know?! The champion of Battle Olympia gets to live on the top floor! It's an incredible honour!" She said making the three of us look at each other questionably. Killua looked bored whilst Gon look about as confused and uninterested in all that as I did. Was it really that great?
"A penthouse one thousand meters above the ground… Don't you get it?!" She yelled at us through the glass, pressing her forehead against the glass trying to get closer to us; good thing the glass was stopping her it looked like she could have strangled us.
"But Killua's house is three thousand, seven hundred meters above ground, right?" Gon asked as we both looked at Killua.
"That's a lot higher than the penthouse. Living in a penthouse that high up doesn't sound very fun." I said furrowing my brows slightly with a small smile.
I heard sliding on the glass; I could only assume that the woman had slid down in shock as to why we weren't all that interested.
"A-And the champion always receives a prize of…" The woman began saying until she was cut off by Killua.
"What do you wanna do, Gon, Mishka? Now that I know the top floor's secret, I don't care anymore." Killua said to us, seeming disappointed with the top floors secret. A penthouse really didn't seem all that great.
"Yeah! I just want to fight with Hisoka." Gon said as I nodded my head smiling widely.
"I just want to get stronger. Fighting just to see who lives on the top floor doesn't sound like fun so I guess I just want to win a fight on this floor to see how strong I got." I said to Killua, smiling widely. We looked at the woman as she turned her head away, looking at the ceiling. It sounded like she was sobbing to herself.
"Why are you kids even here?" She sobbed to herself. Killua turned back to Gon and me once more as the two of us faced him in return.
"Well, then you'll both need to win a fight. But you're gonna wait a bit first, right?" Killua asked us as we smiled widely at him. I nodded my head, I didn't mind waiting for a bit first and Wing said we had to wait two months, but if the other two wanted to get going as quick as possible then I would speed up as well. I had to keep up with them; there was no question about that. It just meant we couldn't tell Wing or Zushi that we had fought on the two hundredth floor, I dread to think what he would do to us if he found out we had. Gon clenched his hand into a fist as he lifted it up towards him, a determined grin on his face.
"No… I'm doing this! I have to find out how different these opponents are." Gon said making me smile widely at him with Killua. Gon had the same attitude; I guess that was good in a way. We turned our heads towards the counter lady once more at the sound of rustling papers.
"I'll need you to fill out these forms, as well." She said, sounding disinterested that we were even here now after not caring much for her explanation. She had her back turned towards us and a hand on her hip.
"Okay!" Gon said to her happily.
Gon began filling out his forms. I heard something electronic come towards us and turned my head along with Killua while Gon filled out his form. Looking behind me there was a guy dressed in white, he sat in a massive wheelchair. His hair was purple and spikey and he wore what looked like a gold band around his head. I couldn't see his eyes. There was another guy with a red cloak. It looked like he was on a spring and held a walking stick in one hand, with the other hand behind his back. I couldn't see his face at all, but his eyes glowed yellow under the cloak. It looked like he wore a breathing mask. There was a single spinning top on his left shoulder. The last guy wore a blue robe tabard with greenish trim and grey training clothes underneath. It looked like he was missing an arm. His hair was blondish grey and it looked like he had his eyes closed. I had to double take slightly at him; he wasn't from the Kuruta clan. Although the clothing was similar it was not our style of robes and tabards. I could feel Killua look at me quickly from my quick jump of discomfort before looking back at the three men.
"You want something?" He asked them.
"No, not really." The man in the wheelchair said.
"We're simply in line to register for a fight." The guy in the robe tabard replied back after what I could only assume was his companion. The guy with the mask laughed, making the other guy in the robe tabard laugh as well while me and Killua continued to stare at them.
"Oh, I get it." Killua said turning his head away. He looked back up again, grabbing Gon's attention as he turned his head slightly.
"Gon, these guys want to fight on the day you do." Killua said making Gon turn back to look at the men. The one in red laughed once more as Gon turned back around. I turned around with Gon, feeling uncomfortable and watched as he ticked a box, handing the paper back to the receptionist.
"I'm ready to go whenever." Gon said to her, determined to get into a fight. Killua turned back to the guys; I was determined to keep my eyes away from them.
"There you go." Killua said to them.
Gon turned his head over his shoulder slightly to look at them. I swallowed the lump in my through and turned my head slightly to look at them as well. The one in the robes lowered his eyes slightly. I soon realised, his eyes weren't close, his eyes were black with little yellow dots.
"This boy has plenty of spunk." The robed man said. The one in red laughed once more as the one in the wheelchair smirked with a small chuckle in his throat. I heard jingling behind me.
"Then Gon will be in room two thousand, two hundred and seven. Killua will be in room two thousand, two hundred and twenty three. Mishka will be in room two thousand one hundred and sixty five." The woman said making the three of us look up to her once more. The smile had returned to her face and she seemed a lot happier than before. She handed us our keys through the hole in the glass.
"We will let you know which day your match is." She said to Gon happily as he took his keys.
"Thanks!" Gon said to her, bringing his keys to him. Killua reached out for his keys and took them, keeping one hand in his pocket without saying thanks. I took my keys and smiled slightly at her.
"Thank you." I said to her as we left the receptionist and began making our way to our room. I heard something move slightly and saw Killua turned to look back at them through the corner of my eyes. I didn't want to look at them, not because of how they looked but because of how they acted.
We decided to go to Gon's room for the simple reason it was much closer than ours.
"They must have gone through that greeting four-eyes mentioned. If we'd gone in blind, we could've ended up like them." Killua said, keeping the silence between us, taking in that information. He was right. I was glad that we hadn't ended up or gone in blind. Gon opened his door to his room. We followed in after Gon; I closed the door behind me as I was the last one inside the room. The room was huge! It had brownish red flooring and orange coloured walls. There were a few chairs and a TV sitting on a massive TV stand that also had drawers. It was next to a desk.
"Wow! This room is huge!" Gon shouted, running through to another room.
"Hey, are you listening to me?" Killua asked after Gon as he disappeared into the other room.
"The bathroom is squeaky clean." I heard Gon yell and couldn't help but run in after him, excited to see the entire room even though I'd be getting the same. I squeaked myself past Gon slightly as I looked into the bathroom and smiled widely.
"It's so big!" I said excitedly. The bathroom was dark blue and white tiled floored with blue tiled walls. It looked more like a huge wet room. The toilet was far away from the shower and bath, with the skin on one side of the room. We both ran out from the bathroom and towards the sleeping area with Killua followed us close behind. Gon ran in front of the bed, obviously not taking in any of Killua's words, or so I thought. I was just trying to get my mind off of it, it was so serious and actually a little bit scary, I didn't want to think about it.
"Whee… I've never seen such a big bed!" Gon shouted as he took off his backpack and flung it onto the bed. The bed was a big double bed with red quilt. There were two more chairs and a little table between them. The curtains were purple. Next to the bed was a small white bedside table.
"Look, Killua, Mishka…" Gon said running to the window. Me and Killua followed him towards the window. Gon leaned his hands onto the window seal which was big enough to sit on and leaned forward. Killua stood in front of it calmly with his hands in his pockets. I quickly placed my hands onto the window seal and lifted myself up. I sat on my knees with my feet dangling off the each of the window seal as I pressed my hands against the glass, looking out of the window with a wide smile on my face. We smiled widely looking out of the window.
"It looks like fireflies!" I said as I looked down.
A ringing sound rang though the room, making Killua look away from the window. Killua walked away from the window.
"Hey, Gon!" Killua said making Gon look over. I looked over myself and watched as Gon ran toward the TV. I turned around and sat down on the window seal before pushing myself off. Landing on my feet I jogged over to the TV as well. It showed Gon's name on a blue background, as well as his match details. Gon was fighting on the eleventh of March at three PM.
"What! Tomorrow?!" Killua said sounding shocked at the news.
"That was so quick!" I said looking at the TV wide eyed. I felt some pressure next to me and looked at Gon. He had his eyes closed and glowed a white colour, showing his aura. His hands were clenched into fists.
"I probably won't be able to win tomorrow." He said then opened his eyes with a determined look on his face and a wide smile.
"But that's okay. I need the experience. I need to discover what I can do with this power." Gon said with determination making me and Killua smile at him.
We had spent some time in Gon's room, talking about tomorrows match and what it could hold. It was beginning to get late and we needed sleep so we decided to call it a night. Me and Killua left at the same time and said our good nights to Gon. We began walking towards my room as that was the next closest. Silence feel between us as Killua walked with his hands behind his head.
"What was up with you when those guys showed up? The one wearing the robes freaked you out a little; his clothing is similar to yours." Killua said bluntly making me look at him. I couldn't help but smile at him, furrowing my brows and nodded my head.
"Yeah, that's what took me back. But after getting a good look he's not Kuruta. The symbols and patterns on his robes don't match up to anything even similar to mine and my big brothers' clan. It just took me by surprise that's all." I said to him laughing slightly at my own silliness. Killua raised an eyebrow slightly in question before closing his eyes and shrugging.
"Okay, I guess that makes sense." He said as I nodded my head. I looked up at the door and stopped by my room name. We said our goodbyes and goodnights. I watched as Killua walked away and quickly opened my room with the key. Hastily I walked inside and closed the door behind me, locking it as Hisoka was on this floor. I quickly took off my bag and dumped it onto a chair near the TV. Stripping off my dress tabard I lazily flung that over my bag and slid off my shoes. I was so tired, it was unreal. Tomorrow was Gon's match, so I had to be up and bright eyed to cheer him on. Walking over to the bed I lazily dropped myself onto it, landing on my stomach with my arms outstretched either side of me. I should probably sign up for my match soon, I wanted to see how much stronger I had gotten. I doubt pushing would work on this floor, but by the looks of things my kicks had gotten stronger and I wasn't as afraid about getting hurt as I had been in the past. It was time to put my skills to the test. I crawled up the bed and slid myself under the quilt covers, bringing them close to my chin. Closing my eyes and exhaled slowly and let myself drift off to sleep.
The day soon came quickly and Gon's match came quicker even still. Me and Killua took our place in the stands and sat next to each other, ready to cheer on Gon. The stadium cheered as they waited for the match to begin. It was actually giving me a very slight headache even though I should be used to this by now.
"Okay, we have a thrilling match for you today. First, we have Gon, who managed to zip straight to this class!" The announcer shouted through the microphone as Gon was lifted into the stadium from underground.
"His opponent will be Gido, who currently holds a respectable four to one record." The announcer shouted once more as the ground lifted up revealing the man in the red cloak. So that was his name, Gido. He stayed in place as the ground stopped moving. Me and Killua watched closely from the stands, keeping quiet; we both knew Gon would have a tough fight, even if he didn't look it. If he was on the two hundredth floor he knew Nen, this would make it one of Gon's toughest fights. Gon was stretching down on the arena, getting himself ready for his fight. Wing would definitely kill us if he found out Gon was fighting now.
The referee had his hand in the air and then he threw it down, yelling something that I could only assume was "begin". Gon instantly summoned up his Ten, the white glow surrounded his body. I leant forward onto my hands that sat on my knees as I watched. Gido held a hand out, it looked like he was laughing from the way his shoulders were moving.
"Hey, Killua." I asked, not taking my eyes off the fight.
"Hmm?" I heard Killua said, not taking his eyes off the fight either.
"What are the chances that Gido will be attacking Gon psychically? He hops about and has a walking stick, so it shouldn't be that high, right?" I asked him as Killua stayed silent, watching the match closely.
"I don't know. I don't think that high though." Killua said making me nod my head. So we both thought the same that was good. We just had to hope it was true. We watched on the big screen as Gido summoned one spin top. He balanced onto his spring like…thing and placed the spinning top on top of it. He moved his hand to the middle and then quickly side to side, summoning more spinning tops. My eyes went wide, that looked psychical.
"I spoke too soon." I said quietly between me and Killua, who nodded his head agreeing with me.
"There they are, Gido's dancing tops! He uses numerous tops to attack his opponent!" The announcer shouted as the crown continued to cheer. That wasn't good; Gon wasn't able to use his Ten against psychical attacks. Maybe having a match this early wasn't the greatest of ideas. Gido spun in a circle and threw the spinning tops towards Gon. They surrounded him, making him look left to right, the front and behind him. The huge screen showed one top sneaking up behind him and striking him hard in the back, sending Gon into the air with his arms back, gasping. I couldn't help but flinch, it looked painful. Gon flipped himself over and landed on his bottom. The referee lifted his arm into the air as the crowd continued to cheer.
"Oh, Gon gives up a clean hit and one point, right off the bat! He's off to a rough start." The announcer shouted for the crowd to hear. I furrowed my brows; he was going to have such a hard time. Gon turned to face Gido as the tops continued to spin around him. One flew towards Gon, making him move to dodge it. He kept dodging side to side and even had to duck. Me and Killua could only watch with wide eyes as Gon fought. What was he supposed to do? The only thing we could do was hope he didn't get too hurt.
