Chapter 326
Spike waited nervously in the crypt. This crypt was better than his last cell, more comfortable, he could watch tv. But he couldn't go outside. Still being on the run from the soldiers, his only hope was to ally with the potential slayer Buffy Summers. Buffy hated Spike, he hoped she viewed Wilkins as a bigger threat. As Spike waited for Angel he sensed someone, a familiar person. Spike could sense her before she entered this crypt, it was Drusilla. Spike had mixed emotions about seeing her, relief, happiness, but also anger at Dru for leaving him, letting him think she was gone.
Drusilla: Hello my dear boy.
Spike: Dru, where have you been?
Drusilla: Helping the Master.
Spike: You're on his side? He's trying to destroy all life.
Drusilla: Yes. Total destruction, the kind demons like us only dream about.
Spike: If we kill all humans, that cuts off our food supply.
Drusilla: We are monsters Spike. We should not be so weak. Now, look at you, with that thing inside of you.
Spike: Fine, I'm a cautionary tale. "Be carefule little demons, or the soldiers will get you."
Drusilla: Don't go to the layer Spike. The end is coming, don't be human when that happens.
Spike: In this world, I'm a monster. Humans are little more than happy meals with legs. We could have some fun with them.
Drusilla: The days of compromise, of living alongside humans, are over. Join me, be the monster, bring about their end.
Spike: No. I won't destroy the planet, or my own life.
