A big thank you to Rina Dragonfly, Anime lover, Just A Cadbury, Hortenseyounka and all silent readers!
Anime lover – No it's because Mishka is totally flat and quite skinny like the boys, plus she's only wearing her training suit now, so any indication that she is a girl is gone.
Just A Cadbury – I use to think so too! Even with just his training suit I sat there like "She's very flat". Wasn't until one of the character said "He" that I was like "…oh wait?! She's a he?!"
Hortenseyounka – I love the character development in this arc too! So I'm really excited myself. Nah, I don't think you use "that" all too often. Merci!

Killua had managed to get back to me, Gon and this girl called Biscuit. He looked unbruised, so I could only assume she didn't hit him hard enough to leave bruises. I was still trying to get my head around this girl called Biscuit, she learnt Nen over forty years ago and she thinks I'm a boy…why? I didn't think I looked like a boy…or maybe I do and I just don't notice it! I stood thinking to myself as Gon and Killua stared at Biscuit, who in turn was staring at the three of us with her hands on her hips.
"I'm the pro Hunter Biscuit Krueger. I'm not big on formalities, so call me Bisky." She explained to us, re-introducing herself as she pointed her thumb to herself. I stopped thinking to myself and looked back at Biscuit. She confused me greatly.
"In return, you must obey every word of what I teach you." Biscuit said to us, placing her hand back onto her hips.
"No way. And no, thanks. We're not desperate enough to beg a total stranger to train us! Say something, Gon, Mishka." Killua said to Biscuit before turning his head to me and Gon, glaring hard; although it wasn't directed at us.
"We have Wing." Gon said to her, keeping the blank look on his face.
"If we need training, we'll ask him." I said to her, backing up Gon and Killua.
"Right, right. We already have a master, and we don't need anyone else to teach us." Killua said to Biscuit, turning his head back towards her and glaring at her, waving his hand in a dismissive way in hopes that maybe she'll go away.
Biscuit looked at us blankly, dropping her hands from her arms and letting them dangle at her side.
"Wing? You mean that little boy with messy hair and glasses? The one who never tucks in his shirt?" Biscuit said, describing him to us with a smile on her face. I looked at her slightly wide eyed; she managed to hit what Wing looked like head on. That and I wouldn't exactly call Wing a little boy, he was a full grown man after all.
"Do you know him?" Gon asked her, just as surprising as I was. Biscuit placed her hands back onto her hips once more, the smiling falling from her face.
"Do I know him? Wing's one of my students." Biscuit said to us. Me and Killua looked at her in disbelief as Gon smiled widely at her, excited about hearing that news.
"That's awesome!" Gon said to her, excitement in his face.
"So he's become a master now… Time really flies, huh?" Biscuit said mostly to herself as she looked to her right through the corner of her eyes.
Me, Gon and Killua looked at each other slightly confused before turning our attention back to Biscuit, who had crossed her arms over her chest, a smile sitting on her face.
"Does that mean you're pro Hunters?" Biscuit asked us. Killua pointed his thumb at me and Gon as Gon nodded his head.
"Just me and Mishka." He explained to her as I nodded my head agreeing with him to back him up.
"You've passed the secret exam?" Biscuit asked us, trying her best to dig out as much information as possible from us.
"Yes." I said to her, nodding my head at her question.
"This really takes me back…" She said to us, trailing off her sentence. She stood for a second or two, looking deep in thought and then dropped her arms from her chest, placing her hands back onto her hips. She then lifted a hand from her hip, putting it on her chin.
"Well, I'm essentially your master's master, so you shouldn't have any problems with me teaching you." She said to us, dropping the hand from her chin and smiling widely at us as she placed it back onto her hip.
As we stood staring at Biscuit, Gon moved his arms out to either side of him, excited about meeting our master's master, that and Biscuit had told us that she was once an examiner for the Hunter exam. Something just felt strange though, Nen couldn't keep you looking that young…could it? She could be telling us a whole lot of lies and we wouldn't be any of the wiser.
"Wow! You've been an examiner!" Gon said to her excitedly, dropping his hands back to his sides.
"Assuming that she's telling the truth." Killua said as I nodded my head, humming slightly to myself.
"She could be telling us a lot of lies." I said to Gon, never taking my eyes off of the girl who called herself Biscuit. Biscuit walked over to me and Killua, making me step back slightly with my hands up defensively and brows furrowed.
"You two are stubborn little boys. I like to see that in kids." She said to us, her glare turning into a smirk.
She backed away from us making me sigh in relief and drop my hands back to my sides.
"But I'm a –" I began saying until Biscuit cut me off.
"You said that you weren't desperate, right? Book." Biscuit said to us, summoning her book. We looked at the card she pulled out and held it in front of her showing us. It was the little black puffy looking creature we were trying to catch earlier before it got away. The three of us looked at it in surprise.
"Look carefully. Its difficulty to obtain is ranked D. It's a normal card that doesn't go in a restricted slot." She explained to us, her smirk turning into a glare. Me, Gon and Killua glared back at her slightly, looking at the card in her hand.
"The problem is that there are many people who could have effortlessly obtained this card, while you three could not. If you run into someone who's stronger and has evil intentions… Sit down…pretending that we're chatting." Biscuit instructed us. Gon, Killua and I looked at each other slightly and then looked at Biscuit as she sat on the ground. We began bending our knees, lowering ourselves slightly to sit down.
"There's an enemy behind me." She told us making us sit down very quickly.
Me, Gon and Killua stared at Biscuit's book as we sat on our knees, trying to stay as still as possible; although this was difficult now that we knew there was an enemy behind Biscuit.
"Don't probe for him. He'll notice." Biscuit told us. I nodded my head slightly as Killua looked at Biscuit slightly confused.
"How did you sense him?" Killua asked her.
"He let a tiny bit of bloodlust escape. The enemy saw a bunch of kids, and he relaxed for a second." She told us. Gon drew in a little closer, staring at her book as Biscuit did the same, making it look like we were just chatting about anything.
"Doesn't that mean he's weak?" Killua asked her, making me and Gon look up at her through the tops of our eye lids. Biscuit kept her eyes on her book, a stern look on her face.
"He immediately concealed his presence again. It was only the slightest bloodlust, and he quickly concealed it, so he's pretty good." Biscuit explained to us. I furrowed my brows slightly, we didn't even sense him at all; he was a lot better than me, Gon and Killua all put together. Killua looked at Biscuit with a determined look.
"What should we do?" Killua questioned her. Biscuit dismissed her book as she stared at Killua.
"What do you think?" Biscuit asked us.
"We four should move together." Gon answered her.
"Why do you say that?" Biscuit asked Gon curiously.
"I'm guessing he decided to use caution because there are four of us. If we stick together, he'll be less eager to attack." Gon explained to Biscuit, expanding on his reason.
"I agree." Killua said as I nodded my head, agreeing with the two as well. Biscuit closed her eyes and dropped her head a little.
"Well, you're right. But that's not what we're going to do." Biscuit told us, making the three of us continue to stare at her in confusion.
Biscuit raised a hand, pointing her thumb at herself as she began to explain why we weren't going with Gon's plan. I was interested myself to know; I mean she must have had a good reason.
"If I go off on my own, the enemy is one hundred percent guaranteed to attack me. I'll go south. You boys, go north. Walk five hundred meters without concealing your presences. Aim for that pillar." She told us, pointing in each direction then looked at the pillar to our left. Me, Gon and Killua turned our heads to look at it so we knew where we were going.
"Once you get there, use Zetsu, then rush back immediately!" Biscuit explained to us. Killua smiled widely as he turned his attention back to Biscuit while me and Gon continued to look at the pillar.
"Okay, stalk the stalk-" Killua began saying until Biscuit slapped him hard across the face, forcing Killua's head to the right. Me and Gon looked at Biscuit worried and wide eyed, then looked at Killua through the corner of our eyes, wondering why Biscuit just out right slapped him. Biscuit then stood up placing her hands on her hips as she glared at Killua, whose cheek was beginning to redden.
"Fine, then! Be that way!" Biscuit yelled at Killua making me and Gon look at her even more confused and wide eyed. That was a quick turn of personality. She pointed at Killua, keeping the other hand on her hip.
"I've had enough! Bye-bye." She shouted then began walking away. Killua stood up and glared at her, angry that he was slapped by Biscuit.
"Yeah, get lost! We didn't want you around! Come on, Gon, Mishka. Let's go." Killua said briefly looking at me and Gon then walked into the direction of the pillar. Me and Gon looked at each other confused then looked back at Killua, before jumping slightly and gasping to ourselves. They were acting! At least I think they were acting. Me and Gon stood up and began walking quickly to catch up with Killua.
"Bye-bye, stupid!" Killua yelled at Biscuit as we began making our way to the pillar. She could have at least said she was acting instead of just slapping Killua out of the blue, that was a little bit rude.
We walked towards the pillar, the night sky showing no signs of leaving soon. Our only source of light was the stars and moon, it was a bit comforting in a way, but it was still very dark.
"That woman is really something." Killua spoke out of the blue, making me and Gon look at him questionably.
"I was on full alert, so I'd be ready to react at a moment's notice. But I didn't realize what she'd done until my cheek began to sting." Killua said to us, referring back to the Biscuit slapping him. I sighed slightly to myself and looked back to the pillar.
"She could have at least given some kind of warning before slapping you. It was a little rude." I said to him, furrowing my brows slightly. I did wonder though, would Biscuit be safe by herself? I mean she was about our height and build, but at the same time she was Wing's master so she should be fine. It still didn't sit right in the back of my mind though.
We got to the pillar quickly. Staring up at it the three of us quickly turned around on our heels, glaring back at the place where we had just come from.
"Let's hurry back." Killua suggested to us, never taking his eyes off the road before us.
"Yeah." Me and Gon said at the same time. We used Zetsu and then ran back towards the place where Biscuit had joined us. We had to be quick, just in case she needed any help.
The three of us managed to find Biscuit and the enemy who I assumed was behind her. We hid behind rocks and poked our heads out slightly. One of Biscuits bunches was cut short, the guy who was standing in front of her had scissors in one hand; it looked like he was eating something, what I couldn't tell. The man though had very short pinkish coloured hair, a purple long sleeved top and grey trousers. He reminded me of a mad barber.
The man took off the belt around his waist as Biscuit took off her gloves. The stood with their feet apart, bowed into a ready stance. The man rushed at Biscuit, who didn't flinch or even move in the slightest. When he was close enough she did something to his arm, throwing him into the air. He spun in the air as he fell head first towards the ground, only to be shoved away by Biscuit ramming her hand towards his back. The man landed on the floor with a thud as Biscuit stood up straight, her hands on her hips.
We came out from our spots behind the rock and started walking back towards Biscuit, who dropped her hands to her sides.
"In that battle, what did you see first?" Biscuit asked us as we looked between her and the guy on the floor.
"The guy being flipped through the air." Gon said as we drew closer.
"Same here." Killua added as I nodded my head.
"Same as well." I said to her. We stopped a little bit away from her; her opponent wasn't weak, he was far from that. Biscuit was incredibly strong, it was unreal. Killua placed a hand onto his hips as me and Gon stood with our hands loosely by our sides.
"If he were an in-game character, he'd have D-rank in terms of difficulty. It would have been an instant game over for you boys. That makes the second time I've seen you barely escape death. How long will your good fortune last?" Biscuit explained to us as me and Gon stood either side of Killua, staring at the unconscious man's body on the floor. We turned our attention to Biscuit as she stared at us sternly.
"Biscuit…." Gon began saying, trailing off.
"Just call me Bisky. If you insist on calling me by my full name or honorific, call me Bisky-chama!" Biscuit said to us, clasping her hands together and closing her eyes tightly with a wide smile on her face. I raised an eyebrow slightly in confusion, honorific? What was that? Why what that suddenly brought up…why was Biscuit so confusing?!
"I'll just call you hag." Killua said to her, turning his ahead away from her as he looked behind him through the corner of his eyes. Biscuit punched him under the chin once more, sending Killua into the air and away from us. I looked at the spot he stood wide eyed before turning my attention back to Biscuit…poor Killua, I think he was going to get beaten a lot by Biscuit.
Gon turned his attention back to Biscuit as I turned around to look behind me to see where Killua landed, or was going to land.
"Why are you here, Bisky?" Gon questioned Biscuit. I turned around on the balls of my feet quickly, looking at Biscuit, wondering the same thing.
"Well, I'm here to clear the game, but I'm mainly after a jewel." Biscuit said to Gon, placing a hand onto her hip and smiling widely at him.
"A jewel?" Gon questioned her. I looked at her questionably, raising an eyebrow.
"There's a jewel that can only be found here. It goes in restricted slot number eighty one. Blue planet. What about you boys?" Biscuit explained to us, keeping the wide smile on her face. Killua walked back over to us, rubbing his cheek with his eyes closed. I looked at him with furrowed brows. It looked like he landed on the ground hard; he was going to come out of this game black and blue.
"We're here to clear the game, obviously." Killua said to her, annoyed and refusing to stand near her. Gon looked at Killua then looked back at Biscuit.
"Actually, my dad made this game. I'm looking for my dad, so I thought this game might contain a lead." Gon explained to her. I looked back to Biscuit myself as she stared at Gon with wide eyed.
"Who's your dad?" Biscuit questioned him.
"Ging Freecss." Gon answered her simply. Biscuit looked surprised at Gon, staring at him wide eyed.
"Ging?!" She yelled in surprise.
"You know him?" Gon questioned her, surprised by her little outburst of his name.
"You bet I do! He's famous. Chairman Netero once said he was one of the tip five Nen users…" Biscuit said to Gon, excitement evident in her voice. I wondered if she was excited about meeting Ging's son; or just excited about Ging in general. Gon closed his eyes and reopened them again, looking at Biscuit with a questionable look.
"Bisky, if you'd be willing to postpone your treasure hunt, please teach us Nen!" Gon asked her. I looked at Gon from the corner of my eyes, he was determined to learn as much as possible just to find his dad. It made me a smile a little bit at him; it was admirable. Biscuit smiled widely at Gon's request.
"You've finally come around? I'm a lot tougher than Wing. Are you ready?" Biscuit said to us, laying a hand on her chest then placing it onto her hip once more.
"Yes." Gon said raising his hand into the air with a wide smile on his face.
"What about you two?" Biscuit questioned me and Killua. I nodded my head quickly at her, keeping the small smile on my face.
"Yes." I said to her.
"I'll be fine." Killua answered her simply.
I heard coughing and looked to my left. The guy that Biscuit knocked unconscious began pushing himself up onto his hands, coughing loudly. Gon dropped his hand as the three of us parted out feet glaring at the man, getting ready in case he tried to attack us.
"Take out all your cards." Biscuit demanded from him, glaring hard at the man.
"Book." The man said, summoning the book into the open palm of his hand. Biscuit took all the cards and summoned her own book; filling it up with his cards. They both dismissed their books as he stayed on his hands and knees on the floor.
"I'm going to give you a chance. You must evade their attacks for two weeks! If you're successful, I'll let you escape. If you're knocked unconscious or can't stand… I will kill you." Biscuit said to the man as he sat up onto his knees, looking at the floor. The three of us glared at Biscuit that was very cruel and didn't have to be done.
"I just have to avoid their attacks, right? It doesn't matter what I do to them?" The man questioned, looking at us with bloodlust visible on his face. Me, Gon and Killua looked at him with a harsh glare.
"Sure. But their one rule. You aren't allowed to leave this crater. If you break this rule, you lose, and I'll kill you." Biscuit said to him, her voice not even hinting towards a joke. She was serious about killing him if he broke the rules.
The three of us looked at Biscuit, still glaring at her because of her harsh rule towards the guy.
"What about us?" Killua questioned her.
"The same rules apply. If you leave, or fail to defeat him after two weeks, you'll be punished." Biscuit said to us, looking at us sternly. She turned her head towards the man who had crawled away, an arm around his stomach as he sweated.
"You're the Bounty Hunter Binolt, right?" Biscuit asked the man as he picked up his belt which was full of scissors. He stood up and turned his attention back to biscuit, holding the belt in one hand.
"Yeah." He said simply to her.
"There's a bounty on his head, as well. He's a brutal murderer." Biscuit explained to us as Binolt fastened the belt around his waist and took out a pair of long blades scissors, smirking at us with bloodlust evident in his eyes. The sun was beginning to wise as the three of us stood opposite him, preparing ourselves for any sort of attack.
"Begin!" Biscuit shouted, lifting her arm into the air.
The sun and rose fully, showering the crater we were in with light. Binolt and Gon stood opposite each other as Killua walked around behind him and I walked around to another side him, none of us taking our eyes off him. Biscuit had jumped to the outside of the crater, looking down at us. Binolt grabbed his stomach and fell to his knees, closing his eyes and sweating. It looked like he was in pain.
"Why are you standing around? He's trying to heal up! Are you going to let him?" Biscuit shouted down to us. Killua was the first one to run towards him, however Binolt suddenly swung his arm back, his scissor blades barely missing Killua's neck who had leaned backwards to avoid being struck. Killua jumped back away from him and looked at him wide eyed and shock at how Binolt had moved. He was fast, very fast. Binolt doubled over and began coughing loudly. Gon ran at him quickly however Binolt quickly took out another pair of scissors and swung it at Gon, who stopped just centimetres from running into it. Gon jumped back away from Binolt, keeping his distance.
Binolt went back to coughing again. I walked around towards Killua then quickly ran at him myself. I drew nearer to him, hearing him continue to cough until he swung his arm at me, making me roll out of the way and jump backwards myself as he threw his arm down towards the back of my head. I landed crouched, breathing heavily; he was a lot quicker when up close to him. I stared at him wide eyed, there was no way we could get close to him and either not get killed or lose an eye. I thought to myself, keeping my eyes on him. I could use my barbed wire to restrain him; that would allow Killua and Gon to get close enough to him to hit him.
I saw Killua lean forward through the corner of my eye and pick up something from the ground.
"Gon, Mishka, let's make this a battle of attrition." Killua said to us.
"Attrition?" Gon questioned, never taking his eyes off of Binolt. Killua began throwing something into the air and catching it in his hands.
"One of you get some rest. Me and other person will keep an eye on him, and use these to attack. We'll switch every six hours." Killua said, continuing to throw something into the air and catching it in his hands.
"I'll keep an eye on him with Killua this time, then you switch with Killua in six hours. Then I'll switch with Killua after another six hours and we'll repeat like that." I said to Gon, never taking my eyes off of Binolt. I squatted down myself, picking up some rocks from the ground and keeping an eye on Binolt to make sure he didn't do anything.
"That's a good idea!" Gon yelled over to us and turned around to walk away from Binolt.
Gon walked over to a giant rock. I could only just about see what he was doing while keeping an eye on Binolt. Gon drew back his fist and punched the giant rock, shattering it into pieces. He picked up one of the pieces and held it about his head, walking back over to Binolt. He then jumped into the air and came down, using the rock as a shield. Binolt jumped into the air, narrowly missing Gon's attack. When Gon landed on the ground, the giant rock created a giant dust cloud.
"Correct! You boys can't beat him in a drawn-out fight." I heard Biscuit shout down to us. Killua picked up one of the big rocks next to him and ran at Binolt, doing the same as Gon. I kept my eyes on him as I quickly ran to the pile Gon made and picked up a rock myself. It felt quiet light. That training back when we were getting Killua had really paid off.
The three of us threw the rocks and quickly picked up another one as we fought Binolt, using the rocks as a shield against his scissors. The sun was beginning to set as me, Gon and Killua ran around Binolt, holding the rocks up as shields to protect ourselves. Gon threw his rock towards Binolt who ducked underneath it. Gon jumped at him and swung his leg at Binolt who raised his arm up blocking the kick and swung his scissors at Gon's face. They narrowly missed and Gon flipped himself away from Binolt, landing on his hands and knees and quickly bolted away. Binolt was about to swap at Gon with scissors until he had to jump backwards as Killua threw a rock at him. Me, Gon and Killua stood together as we raised the big rocks, running at him again, using the rocks to block his scissors.
We had managed to create a forest of rocks, using it to our advantage. We were dirty from all the dust flying about in the air. Our clothes and faces caked in dust and dirt. I threw a rock into the air, and heard two land; which meant on of the other boys had thrown one to. I heard arm being slashed and quickly jumped out from behind the rock I was hiding behind. I ran quickly at Binolt, catching a small glimpse of Killua who had bolted away from him. Binolt swung his scissors at me, making me roll away from him and quickly bolt forward to keep my distance from him. I threw myself behind one of the rocks in the rock forest that we had created and heard one of the big rocks being smashed into pieces.
"Game over, pops!" I heard Killua say smugly to Binolt. I peeked my head out from the side of the rock to see Killua swing his arm towards Binolt's face, who was lying on the ground with Killua sitting on top of him to keep him from moving anywhere.
"Stop it, Killua!" Me and Gon yelled at same time. There was no need to kill the man or render him unconscious, we had won. Killua stopped at the last second and jumped back just as Binolt swung his arm towards him, scissors at hand.
I began walking towards Gon keeping my eyes on Binolt as Killua landed on the other side of Gon. Killua looked at me and Gon with a glare, his hands tightly clenched into fists.
"Why did you stop me, Gon, Mishka?" Killua asked us bitterly.
"We still have plenty of time." Gon said to him.
"I thought you were going to do something terrible to him that would make him better off dead. I'm sorry." I said, furrowing my brows and looking at him apologetically. Gon looked at me quickly before looking back at Killua, keeping the same stern look on his face.
"Let's continue until all three of us are able to take him alone." Gon said to him. Killua looked at him questionably as Gon gave him a determined smile. I decided to keep my eyes on Binolt, in case he did anything sneaky.
"Stopping now would be a waste. Because we're on a roll." Gon said to him, shrouding himself with his Nen.
"Fool. It's my turn now. I'll cut you up!" Binolt said to us, pointing his scissors at Gon with bloodlust clearly visible on his face.
"Sure, but let's wait until tomorrow. You should get some rest. You've been slowing down." Gon said to him, which only made Binolt look at Gon confused. I smiled slightly at Gon as I laced my fingers lightly behind my back; Killua smirked over to Binolt, his hands on his hips.
Night fall had come quickly. I was tired from all the fighting we had been doing, not to mention I smelt of dust, dirt and sweat. Me, Gon and Killua leaned against three rocks that were quite close together. We all sat on the floor with our legs crossed; Gon and Killua had their arms crossed over their chests as mine stayed lazily in my lap. We quickly fell asleep, our backs leaning against the three rocks. I opened my eyes when I sensed something moving and looked in the direction of Binolt. Gon and Killua did the same. Binolt was leaning over, as if trying to sneak away. It had become easier to sense him now, which meant he wasn't going to be able to fool us easily.
The sun soon rose and we were once again fighting against Binolt. This time we weren't using rocks as our shields; we were concentrating on dodging his attacks. We did this for several days, sleeping against the rocks at night, sensing whenever he moved, dodging his attacks in the day. Each day it seemed like he was getting slower and more tired…but I think…I think we were getting faster. Even the rain didn't stop us from training against Binolt who was slowing down each and every day. This training seemed much more beneficial, and that was probably because we were fighting for our lives. It wasn't like in Heaven's Arena when we were fighting just to get stronger and make some money, no, this was much different. If we didn't fight we would die.
Me and Killua stood back and watched as Gon threw a punch towards Binolt's stomach, only stopping a mere few inches. Killua crossed his arms and smiled widely at Gon as I laced my fingers lightly together behind my back, keeping a small smile towards Gon.
"No more… There's no way I can defeat you. Kill me." Binolt said to us, dropping to his knees and dropping his scissors to the floor. I stared at him in disbelief…kill him? That seemed so harsh; he shouldn't have to be killed just because he couldn't win against us.
"Why? We won't kill you. You've helped us make a lot of progress. Thank you, Binolt!" Gon said to him, bowing in respect to Binolt. My smile grew wider, this man who had complete bloodlust against and towards us, was defeated. However, even though Gon left himself valuable, he didn't try to attack him. It was a nice sight to see.
We climbed out of the crater to where Biscuit sat and watched us. Binolt was the last one out after us. We stared at him as he sat on his knees, looking at the ground in utter defeat.
"Go on." Biscuit said to him. Binolt stood up from the ground and began unfastening the belt around his waist.
"Once I leave, I'll turn myself in." Binolt said to us, dropping his belt with his scissors onto the floor, making it hit the ground with a thud. We watched as he walked away from us. Me and Gon waved good-bye at him, wide smiles on our faces as Killua stood with his hands in his shorts pockets.
Once Binolt was out of sight the three of us turned our attention back to Biscuit. She held her hands on her hips and a smile on her face.
"Well, let's head for Masadora." She said as she held up a finger.
"Osu! The number nine!" The three of us said at the same time then pointed to her finger using Gyo. We had remembered that rule clearly, when she held a finger up, we read out the number that we saw.
"Too slow! Give me three thousand push-ups." Biscuit shouted at us, pointing her finger towards us, making the number disappear. We dropped to the floor and began doing push-ups, glares and looks of grumpiness on our faces.
"Damn…"Gon and Killua shouted as we did push-ups, all because we were too slow in reading out the number. The push-ups were only resulting in us becoming more tired and covered in more dirt and dust and sweat. I really needed a bath or a shower at some point, I felt so gross! Me, Gon and Killua followed Biscuit as we began making our way for Masadora.
"Masadora's about seventy kilometres away. That's a three hour trip, at most." Biscuit said to us. The three of us looked at her in disbelief and wide eyed.
"Seriously?!" We shouted at the same time as we continued our punishment for being too slow.
The sun had risen fully by time we had finished our punishment push ups. My arms felt like noodles and my legs didn't feel much better. We followed Biscuit, letting her guide us to Masadora. We had to run to keep up with her. The three of us saw a lot of different sights as we ran, we saw canyons and farm land. We even ran beside the sea which let off a nice cool air. Although that didn't do much for our dirty clothes and bodies. A brightly coloured city started coming into view as we ran over the hill top. We smiled widely at the sight, happy to see it.
"There it is!" Gon said happily to us.
"Let's find a department store now!" Biscuit shouted as we drew nearer and nearer towards the city.
We entered a store within the city filled with lots of different cards. I was more amazed that they had let us in, considering me, Gon and Killua were caked in dust and dirt from head to foot. According to Biscuit, this was a department store; but all there was were cards.
"They're only selling cards…" Gon said, trailing off in his sentence.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. Let's return to that rocky area." Biscuit said to us, a wide smile on her face as she held three cards in her hand.
"What?!" We shouted at her at the same time, not believing that now that we got here, she wanted us to return to that rocky place! We wanted to get here to get some magic cards!
Biscuit made us run back to the rocky area. Once we reached it we breathed heavily, trying to catch our breath once more. Gon was doubled over, holding his hands to his knees as Killua stood straight. I was squatting on the floor, my arms lazily over my knees as I breathed heavily to try and regain my composer.
"Gain." Biscuit said, transforming the three cards into a single wheelbarrow, three shovels and three torches. They laid on the floor in a heaped mess. Me, Gon and Killua looked at them confused. I began standing up slowly once I felt like I had caught my breath.
"These are the cards you brought?" Gon questioned her as he stood up straight, regaining his composure and breath.
"Yep. We'll head back to Masadora now." Biscuit said to us happily, her hands on her hips and a wide smile on her face. We looked at her with a glare; she was messing us about! I didn't know about training, but I did know that she was messing us about.
"However, we'll go in a straight line!" Biscuit said to us, turning around and pointing in the direction of Masadora.
"Huh? A straight line? You can't mean…" Killua began asking and saying, before trailing off in thought and confusion.
"Yep. It's time to dig!" Biscuit said to us happily as she turned around and closed her eyes, a large smile on her face.
Me, Gon and Killua each grabbed a shovel and began pushing it onto the rocks, beginning our journey to Masadora in a straight line. Surprisingly, the rock was softer than I had expected, so maybe this wouldn't take as long as we thought.
"This rock isn't as hard as I was expecting." Killua commented as he dropped some dirt from his shovel onto the floor.
"Yeah, this should go pretty smoothly." Gon said as he dropped dirt off from his shovel and to the floor.
"If we're lucky this won't take as long as first thought." I said to them, dropping the dirt from my shovel onto the floor.
We had tunnelled into the giant rock. Me and Killua continued digging and Gon used the wheel burrow to take away the dirt so that we wouldn't block our paths. We finally hit a dead end and slammed out shovels into it, smashing the rocks into pieces creating rubble. We climbed over the rubble exhausted and tired.
"This is rough… No more." Gon commented as we crawled over the rubble and away from the tunnel. The three of us fell forward and landed on the floor in front of the rubble on our backs, our arms outstretched to her sides and eyes closed, hoping that maybe we could get some sleep or rest.
"Hold on. If you're going to rest, sit properly." Biscuit said to us. We opened our eyes to find her standing in front of us with her hands on her hip and stern look over her face. We looked at her questionably, wondering what she meant.
Biscuit walked us to a giant rock and made us sit up straight against it, our backs pressed against the rock. We had to hold onto a rope that was connected to the rock. Connected to the rope was a light piece of metal shaped like a horse shoe. Well she said it was light it would still hurt hitting our heads.
"Starting today, you must always sleep in this position. Don't let go of the rope. There's a chance I might cut the rope, so keep a portion of your brain alert while you sleep." Biscuit said to us smiling widely, holding a knife in her hand. I began closing my eyes, keeping a tight hold of the rope. This training was extreme; I had never done something like this in my life before; even when me and Kurapika were little we didn't use harsh methods to train ourselves.
"Ow!" I heard Gon shout making me snap my eyes open and turn my head to him. He was holding the back of his head tightly, his eyes closed tightly in pain.
"Okay, when it falls, you have to put it back up." Biscuit said to us. Gon stood up and began putting the horse shoe back onto the two wall mounts above his head; this was going to be a long night.
When the morning did eventually arrive, we had to go back to digging. After an hour, Biscuit called us for something to eat; which we quickly ran off to feeling extremely hungry. She handed us each a bowl of food. Me and Killua sat either side of Gon, who had large, red bruises all over his head. I stared at him wide eyed as I held my bowl.
"Gon, your head…" Killua began saying, trailing off.
"I'm good." Gon said grumpily as he stirred for food in his bowl with his fork.
Night came once more after a fall day of digging. Biscuit made us sit under big rocks this time. We stared up at the rocks dangling above our heads.
"I'll be making them bigger." Biscuit said to us. Me and Killua looked at Gon worried, his head still covered in the big red lumps.
"Gon…" Killua said trailing off in his sentence.
"Will you be okay?" I asked him, looking at him with furrowed brows.
"I'm good!" Gon said grumpily once more, looking determined to not have anything fall on his head this night. As we began dozing off I heard something what sounded like earth hitting flesh.
"Ow!" Gon shouted through the air. I looked at him worried, loosening the grip on my rope. Once I realised what I had done it was too late, the rock had already fallen and landed on my head. I grabbed my head in pain and doubled over, closing my eyes tightly.
"Ow!" I shouted into the sky myself. Once me and Gon had placed our rocks back above our heads again, we dozed off to sleep, holding onto the rocks tightly so that we didn't drop them on our heads.
Morning came once more and we were back digging. Killua was on wheel burrow duty today. He began wheeling out some dirt as me and Gon went to dig into a rock, only to have it bounce back towards us. I sent a shiver up my arms from the reverb of metal hitting rock.
"We've run into a really hard rock." Gon said as I poked it a couple of times with my shovel.
"Can we dig it up?" Killua asked as he placed the wheel burrow onto the floor. I shook my head slightly, humming to myself as I continued poking the rock.
"Doesn't look like it." I said to him, standing up straight and sighing to myself. Gon took over with poking the rock and looked at it questionably.
"I don't think a shovel will work. I can probably break it with a Nen punch." Gon said before gasping to himself. Me and Killua were looked at Gon confused as he turned his head towards us.
"Killua, Mishka, what were you doing with your aura while digging?" Gon questioned us. Killua picked up his shovel and began shrouding himself in his Nen.
"I wasn't digging anything unusual." Killua said to Gon, looking at his shovel.
"Pretty much the same as Killua." I said to Gon, keeping a tight hold of my own shovel.
"Think of the shovel as part of your body!" Gon said to us smiling widely. I looked at him wide eyed and gasped slightly, knowing exactly what he meant. I began shrouding myself with my Nen, then concentrated on doing the same to the shovel I held in my hands. Gon began doing the same and then slammed his shovel into the rock.
"Wow! The rock's as soft as pudding!" Gon said excitedly as me and Killua rammed our shovels into the rock, smiling widely at how soft it really had become.
"Okay! Let's keep on digging!" Killua said to us, determination on his face and in his voice. This is all we had to do, we just had to keep digging like this and eventually we would reach Masadora!
But I couldn't help but think, would the training Biscuit was giving us always be hard and demanding…or would we find it easier as we continued?
