Oneshot 27: Sleep Talking

She mumbles in her sleep.
Mugen notices this because he always wakes up before her. And every time he brings it up she vehemently denies it.
"You're making that up," she would say. "Cut it out, Mugen."
And Mugen would simply shrug and go about his business. It was her own fault for not believing him. What exactly did he get out of lying about something like that anyway? Fuu was just feeling on edge. He could tell living so close to the ocean kind of bothered her. It wasn't about the sunsets, the seagulls or mounds and mounds of sand. It was the simple fact that the ocean had tried to take Mugen twice before, and Fuu knew that the third time was always the charm.
So the very next morning Mugen propped himself up on one elbow and observed a tossing and turning Fuu. He planned on telling her word for word what came out of her mouth as soon as she woke up .
"Mugen… stop," she groaned in her sleep, a limp hand coming up to swat away an invisible dream Mugen.
The real Mugen watched this with nothing but pure curiosity. Maybe he'd get lucky and she'd divulge her deepest, darkest secrets. Something he could hold over her head for the many years to come.
Many years to come.
He had never thought about forever with Fuu before. It made his eyebrows scrunch and lips press together. Sure their little sea-side paradise was ideal, but would it truly last forever? Did anything this good ever last for him? He was stupid to have even grown so attached to the girl laying beside him in the first place. Didn't he have a 'no, no' policy for things like that? Whatever happened to his self-made rules? They had worked so well before.
They kept him from making stupid mistakes, like this.
"I… love… you."
Mugen's hand froze on it's way to brush a strand of hair from Fuu's cheek. Had he heard her right? And even if he had, was she even talking about him, of all people?
"Mugen…"
A smirk cracked his dry lips. He leaned down and snuggled his nose into her warm neck, gracing it with a kiss.
"How do you know I even feel the same way, girly?" he mumbled into her ear. His dark eyes flickered towards her face to see a frown settle on her pink lips. Even in her sleep she had doubts. Even in her sleep she wasn't sure about anything between them.
Mugen leaned away from her face and sighed. He brought a hand up to her face and rubbed his thumb along her bottom lip. Her mouth parted slightly.
"I think you're fucking amazing Fuu. You should know how I feel about you already. Quit having doubts, will ya?"
For a moment the little pinch between her brow was still there, until finally her face settled into that of calm peacefulness. Even the corners of her lips seemed to have quirked into a smile.
Mugen pressed his mouth against hers and nibbled her bottom lip. It was about time she woke up and made him some breakfast. The fish weren't going to fry themselves.
"Mugen," her sleepy voice moaned against his kisses as weak arms tried to push him away.
"Come on, girly," he whined, "Wakey, wakey."
Her eyes finally pried themselves opened and she stared up at his smug grin. "I had the weirdest dream," she muttered, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Oh ya?" Mugen chided, "What was it about?"
Fuu's cheeks turned the darkest shade of red and suddenly her arms were at her sides again. "I- I have to go make breakfast. I'll tell you about it later." She quickly jumped out of bed and headed out of their small hut before Mugen could get another word in.
But he wasn't in rush. He already had a pretty good guess of what her dream was about. The girl was as yappy in her sleep as she was in real life. It was her own fault for not believing him.
Enough to hold you over until the end of the week? I'll try to get another OS out before Friday but i'm not making any promises. Love you guys and thanks for reviewing!

And i completely understand what you mean about having sooo many to choose from. Even i'm not entirely sure what my favorite anime is. I can definitely tell you Angel Beats is VERY high up on my list though. If you have not seen that anime yet do yourself a favor and watch it RIGHT NOW. Dont even come back to these oneshots if you haven't lol. (it's that good)

AshAnime: Alright, alright. Tanto Storm would like to know: How much can you actually eat? She think you would have been able to eat more if the fly hadn't bothered you during the eating contest.
Fuu: *thinks long and hard* Yeah, I think I could have eaten more. It's kind of scary how much I can actually eat if you really think about it. I swear there's a black whole in my stomach or something. I sure am lucky I can still keep my figure!
Mugen: *walks by and smirks* Figure my ass!
Fuu: *glares at the back of Mugen's head* SHUT UP YOU BIG JERK!
AshAnime: *rubs temple* Ok, that all I needed Fuu. Thank you, bye.
Fuu: But-
AshAnime: JIN! COME HERE!
Fuu: *stomps away*
Jin: *Walks in* Yes?
AshAnime: Brittany would like to know-
Jin: Oh no.
AshAnime: *quirks an eyebrow* What's the matter?
Jin: I've heard the kind of questions she asks Mugen and Fuu.
AshAnime: *rolls eyes* Suck it up. Brittany asks: Would you say that if you can, would you ever take Fuu away from Mugen?
Jin: *looks nervously around and spots Mugen watching him closely from a dark corner* Fuu is like a little sister to me. It would be highly awkward and improbable for us to date. Good day.
AshAnime: *blinks* Well there you have it guys. Please review and thanks for putting up with me for so long. BYE! LOVE YOU!
