Giles felt that Wesley had acted rashly, but they did now have the chance to gain valuable intel. Hoelich was a dangerous vampire, and a former gymnast. Giles called Buffy, Angel, and Spik to help in case Hoelich tried to escape. Angel was mad at Wesley for putting Fred in danger and confronted him in private. Fred listened in.
Angel: You put her in danger.
Wesley: She came to me with the plan. Without our help she would've been in more danger.
Angel: We might not be together right now, but I still care about Fred.
Wesley: So do I I did what she wanted me to do.
Angel: Anything happens to her, I will hold you responsible whether you are or not
Wesley: Understood. But at least I'm willing to respect her choices.
