After Buffy knocked Hoelich unconsciouss again Tara began the spell. With Giles' help she got images from Heolich's mind. This wasn't as organized as the good guys would've preferred. One instant they got hm hunting humans, the next his desire for a potato chip sandwich from his human days. But the intel came slowly, things he didn't want others to know. His crush on his former baby-sitter, his father wanting him to be a football player and not a gymnast. Tara saw how scared Hoelich had been when Absolom turned him, and during the Master's indoctrination. Tara found something that the Master feared, the chalice of life. Whatever this chalice might be, Andrew Hoelich didn't know if it was real, the Master feared it could ruin his plans. It was during this that Hoelich regained conscioussness, but he faked being asleep. He knew that the enemy had intel, because of him. Buffy had taken much of the Master's family, only her death would grant him absolution. Hoelich sprang into action and attacked Buffy. She was caught off guard, but was saved by an unlikely source. Buffy saw Hoelich suddenly crumble into dust. To her suprise she saw Spike holding the stake.
