~Hanna West

Elena took us back to the warehouse because we really didn't know where else we could go that Reyes' men didn't know about. Hobbs helped Brian and Dom carry Vince's body out of the truck and back into the warehouse. I watched numbly as they laid his body down onto one of the tables. Dom took the sheet off of our bed and draped it over him. Everyone left Dom and I alone with Vince's body, Mia said something about calling the rest of the team and telling them what had happened. Brian went with her as Elena and Hobbs wondered off, still reeling from what had happened.

I stood behind Dom, who was leaning against the table with his head hung low. Silent tears flowed down my cheeks as I shook my head. I couldn't believe this was happening. Again. How many more people are we going to have to loose? Jessie. Letty. God knows where Leon is and if he's even alive. I don't think we can take anymore death.

"You were always my brother." Dom stated, finally breaking the silence that had lasted for what felt like hours. He moved the sheet over his head and sighed. "I got eyes on Nico now." He turned around and stared at me, he didn't have to say anything because I already knew what he was thinking. I grabbed his hand and we walked back towards the group. The rest of the team had returned and the vibe was somber. "We need to move." Dom said, addressing the team as he walked. "We don't have that much time."

"I got us a flight out. We can leave Rio in the rear view in the next five hours." Han said as he walked up to Dom and I, sliding his phone back into his pocket. I closed my eyes and shook my head. I couldn't even imagine leaving now. Not after what Reyes did to Vince. He was going to get what he had coming. If no one else, Dom and I are going to make sure of it.

"Not to run away." Dom replied, his eyes hardening. "To finish the job." Everyone looked at us like we were absolutely crazy, but I didn't care.

"It's a suicide mission." Rome stated from his place on the stairs next to Tego. He stood up and walked towards us slowly, shaking his head. "That's your man over there on the table. The plan is busted. This is bullshit man, Reyes knows we're coming."

"He's right." Tej stated with a sigh. "They tripled the detail at the police station. It's going to be a wall of gun fire." He wasn't lying, and Rome was right. Itwas a suicide mission, but at this very moment, I couldn't really care less. My mind was so filled with rage towards Reyes and his men, that I couldn't think straight.

I clenched my jaw and let go of Dom's hand. "Reyes does not get to get away with this!" I growled, shaking my head and looking around at everyone. "He doesn't!"

"It's a trap Katie." Han sighed, pursing his lips. "You know that." I knew it was a trap but again, I wasn't thinking straight. All I could think about was Vince and that Reyes just made a woman a widow and left a little boy without his dad. My whole body was shaking and I felt like I might explode.

"Katie. Dom." Elena said, making us turn towards he. She looked serious but sympathetic, she knew about as much loss as I did. "Why don't you just listen to them? Run, before it's too late. Leave Rio. You can be free."

"Running ain't freedom." Dom stated in a low tone, shaking is head before turning to everyone else. "You should know that. You know you're all free to make your own choices." He grabbed my hand and started leading my towards our old room. I glanced back at Brian and Mia who looked devastated about what was going on. I had to hold back more tears that we pricking my eyes before turning forward.
"I'm in." Hobbs' strong voice stated, causing Dom and I stop and turn to face him. "I'll ride with you Toretto. At least until we kill that son of a bitch." He nodded at us and looked around the team.

Brian stepped forward and raised his eyebrows. "So what's the plan Dom?" He questioned. "We can't just go sneaking around anymore." I smiled at him and looked towards Dom. We hadn't really got to the planning stage so I myself was wondering if he had thought of anything yet.

"We don't sneak." He stated. "The only thing he cares about is his money. We pull that, we pull him."

We spent the next day and a half revising our plan to include Hobbs and Elena. After going over the plan for the last time we all broke off and got in position. Dom and I climbed into the police cars while Brian slid into the other one. We followed Hobbs' huge truck towards the police station and I mentally prepared myself for what was coming.

This was either going to make or brake our lives. I liked to think we were going to get away free and clear but there was still Hobbs and Elena to worry about. "Are you ready for this?" Dom asked, glancing over to me as we neared the police station.

I reached over and gripped his hand, sending him a reassuring smile. "As ready as I will ever be." I stated, letting go and staring ahead of us. Hobbs made a hard right and crashed through the police barrier that led to the parking garage. The guards started firing at us as we followed Hobbs' truck into the garage and continued to go up floors.

I watched as Hobbs ran his truck into the cinder block wall where we knew Reyes' safe was. He backed out and allowed Brian and Dom to drift into position. I quickly climbed out and I crouched down, grabbing the hook and handing it to Dom. While the boys hooked up the safe, I made sure both lines were secure before running back to the car and slipping in.

Both Brian and Dom got back into the cars and floored the gas, making the back tires spin. I turned around in my seat and watched as the safe started to break away from the wall it was set in. Another minute and the safe finally broke free.

We made it out of the parking garage with the safe dragging behind us. I heard sirens from the police cars on our asses and it gave me a little comfort knowing Han, Rome and Tej were following us.

I gripped the walkie talkie in my hand as we raced down Rio's main streets. We made a sharp right turn causing the safe to roll behind us. "Call it out Mia." I said into the walkie talkie.

"Got a straight shot for two blocks. Go right." Dom shifted gears and we made another hard right. The safe hit a tree and bounced off it, following behind us. "Well, the plans working. You guys got every corrupt cop in Rio on your tail. You guys have to move fast." I bit my lip and looked behind us at the parade of cops following us and the safe, I really hope this works out the way we want it to. "Okay, keep going straight another half mile and then take a left."

I shook my head. "That isn't going to work." Dom stated, seeing police cars coming towards us from the front. I watched them roll out a spike strip and gasped, glancing at Dom. "We're going right." He said, as I held the walkie talkie button down.

"No, it's too tight." Brian said, shaking his head, looking behind him briefly. "We ain't going to fit."

Dom grabbed the walkie talkie from my hand and held it up to his mouth. "Got no choice." He replied, his free hand gripping the wheel. "We got to go. Now." Brian and Dom both made a sharp right, avoiding the spike strip by inches. The safe rolled over one of the police cars and proceeded to crash through what looked like a bank. I bit my lip and let out a sigh of relief when Brian and Dom were able to regain control over the safe. "Shit." Dom breathed, looking over at me.

"Okay, I'm hearing all this chatter." Mia said through the walkie talkie. "Did you guys just take out a bank?" I laughed lightly and shook my head, we were in so deep right now I couldn't even believe it. "Alright, there's an alley coming up on your left."

I nodded but noticed three police cars coming towards us head on. Dom must have caught the same thing because he traded a look with Brian through the window and they both suddenly swerved sideways letting the safe keep going and crash into the oncoming cars. Dom pressed the gas as he tried to get moving again. We went into the alley Mia mentioned and avoided more cars, but two police motorcycles were now on our tail.

Brian was able to get rid of them quite quickly before moving around the safe. We reached the main road again and the chase continued with the destruction piling up. I couldn't even count how many cars have been totaled since we started and the I'm sure the cost of all the damage is really going to be a pain is Reyes' ass.

We were able to run a few more cop cars off the road with the help of Han, Tej, and Rome. "You guys just carved out a ten-second window. Make it count." We indeed made it count, switching the vaults with time to spare. I bit my lip as we drove onto the bridge, we were almost home free, all we needed is to get across the bridge and we'd be good to go. A little piece of hope died when I was that the police wasn't giving up that easily. They followed us onto the bridge and they just kept coming. One after another.

"No. There's too many of them." Brian growled, looking behind him. "Hey, there's to many of them. We're not going to make it." Dom glanced at me and we had one of our silent conversations. I knew exactly what we needed to do and Dom nodded at me. I picked up the walkie talkie and sighed.

"You're right, we aren't." I replied. "You are." I blocked out Mia and Brian' questions and stared at Dom. "You're a father now Brian. You need to be there for your kid." Dom nodded and I looked out the window towards Brian. He was shaking his head, clutching the walkie talkie tightly.

"No, I'm not leaving you." Brian said, looking over at us. "No. We stick with the plan."

I paused and blew out a breath. "It was always the plan. Take care of Mia and my niece or nephew." I stated, reaching down and grabbing the remote. Dom nodded and I pushed the button making the wire that connected Brian to the safe snap. I heard Brian yell as we made a sharp U turn and stopped. "I love you Dom."

Dom hesitated before tearing his eyes away from the oncoming police cars and looking over at me. "I love you too." He said, taking my hand and bringing my knuckles to his lips. He revved the engine and I flicked on the NOS, we looked at each other one more time before our car took off. We continued down the bridge, taking out the police cars with the help of the safe. Gun fire started and our car got hit, causing me to duck down and cover my head with my arms. Dom swerved and the vault started rolling, taking out car with it. Dom grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the car before it was launched into the air and catapulted into Reyes' car.

I took a couple deep breaths and slowly pulled myself up off the ground. Dom was standing up as well and didn't look hurt so that was a plus. I looked around at the damage we had caused and blew out a long breath. We needed to get out of here. I heard heavy footsteps and turned around.

Zizi was walking towards us with his gun aimed at my head. We didn't have anything to defend ourselves so we were basically sitting ducks. I flinched when a trigger fired, but nothing hit us. Brian stepped forwards and fired two more shots before Zizi dropped to the ground. "I thought we told you to go on." Dom stated, looking across at Brian.

Brian shrugged. "I had to make a call." A rumble from behind us made the three of us turn around. Hobbs' truck pulled up and he hopped out with Elena by his side. Reyes fell out of his crushed car, begging Hobbs for help. That evil son of a bitch. Hobbs took out his gun and without hesitation he shot Reyes twice in the head.

"That was for my team you son of bitch." Hobbs stated, walking towards us. "This is a hell of a mess. You know I can't let you three go. I ain't made that way. The way I see it: you've earned yourselves twenty-four hours." I let out a breath and gripped Dom's hand, smiling at him and Brian. "Money stays though. If I were you I'd use the time, make peace with whatever demons you got left. Because come tomorrow, I will find you." I shared a look with Elena and backed towards the car. I opened the back door and climbed in. "Toretto." Hobbs called as Dom was about to slip into the passenger seat. "I'll see you soon."

Dom smirked, shaking his head. "No, you wont." He replied, getting in the car and slamming the door shut. Once we were far enough away that we could breathe I started laughing.

"Oh, my God." I laughed, leaning up from the back seat to kiss Dom. Brian grinned and cracked up also. Dom kissed me again and chuckled. "Holly shit. I can't believe that just happened." I exclaimed, sitting back and running a hand through my hair. "Oh, my God."

Brian drove us back to the warehouse where we were greeted with lots of smiles and hugs. Tej had been working on opening the safe since he had gotten back and said he was close. I threw my hair up into a messy bun and leaned into Dom, allowing him to wrap his arms around my waist. We were all waiting for Tej with bated breath, none of us speaking.

I heard a beep and a couple clicks before Tej raised the scan of Reyes hand print to the pad. Another click and a grin spread across his face. He reached up and slowly spun the metal wheel, opening the vault. I held my breathe and Dom' arms tightened around me in anticipation. Money started pouring out of the now open vault and everyone started yelling. My eyes widened and I turned in Dom' arms, pulling him into a passionate kiss.

I laughed as I pulled away, cupping his face and staring into his eyes. Dom smiled at me and looked up at the safe. I turned around and closed my eyes. This was the beginning of the rest of out lives.
