Bret and Adam had been out of the hospital for a few days. It was a beautiful August Sunday. The heat wave had broken with the storm and the humidity was next to nothing. It was a perfect day to rest and lounge on the back deck. Adam was in his favorite redwood lounge. He was wearing a pair of very short, shorts and a pair of sunglasses. His t-shirt hung on the back of the lounge. He wanted to work on his tan. Hunter had recently changed his bandage and now he only wore a small one on the back of his hand.

The physician's lap top was on the little wrought iron table, along with a fresh, frosty glass of iced tea. A white, three-ring binder was on Adam's lap as his long legs stretched out in front of him. He'd pushed his sunglasses up on his head as he chewed on the cap of the pen he was using. He closed the binder and took a sip of his tea.

The binder was covered with white canvas. With black ink and a calligraphy pen, Adam had written the words, "Our Wedding Plans", "Bret and Adam", "December 6", "Love Conquers All". He'd also drawn small pictures, using the same black ink. The drawings included a wedding cake, flowers, hearts, and doves. It was pretty and tasteful. Inside, the binder was filled with notes, lists and ideas. A plastic pouch would eventually hold important papers like the contracts for the chapel, flowers, cake, catering and any thing else that came along.

Adam sipped his tea, then went back to chewing on the cap of his pen. He was deep in thought. He wanted to ask Bret about something, but he just didn't know what his future husband would think. Adam didn't want to start a fight about it.

Bret was in the matching lounge next to Adam. He was wearing a pair of regular shorts and his t-shirt was also on the back of his lounge. He wore a pair of deep pink wrap around sunglasses, and was sipping from a glass of iced tea. Bret was enjoying relaxing in the warm sun, he was reading some brochures Adam had from the caterers.

The Captain looked over at his fiancé, something was on Adam's mind, but for once, he couldn't figure out what it was. "So, are you going to tell me what's on your mind?"

Adam took the pen out of his mouth, "Well, you're going to ask Jerry, to be your best man and John and Phil to be your groomsmen, right? Well, I only have Jay as my best man and Heath as my groomsman, I need one more to be balanced. Ted, Cody and Dolph are ushers along with Seth, Dean and Roman. What would you think if I asked Wade to be my second groomsman?" he hoped he hadn't just started their first fight.

Bret raised his sunglasses, he looked at Adam. The physician had one of those rare moments where he just couldn't tell what Bret was thinking. Was he mad? Was this when their relationship would turn sour?

"It would be okay with me, if that's what you want. He saved my life, I can't forget that. I'm still not at all happy about what he tried to do, with hurting you, but isn't being a good person all about forgiveness? That's your influence on me," Bret said with a smile as he sipped his tea.

Adam laughed, "I thought we were about to have our first fight. I was just; you know he doesn't make friends much. I thought it might make him feel included. Five years are a long time to be in a strange country without many friends. Also, I can't very well tell him, let's forget about things, then not follow through. Bret, babe, don't get me wrong, I don't like what he did one bit. I honestly don't fully trust him yet. However, if we don't give him a chance to earn it back... Thanks for not arguing. I haven't one hundred percent decided yet anyway..." Adam was interrupted by his cell phone ring tone; "I'm Getting Married In the Morning". The ring tone made Bret chuckle.

"Doctor Copeland... hello Reverend Brower... yes... yes, December sixth... four is perfect... not a problem... I can send Bret round now if you want... okay, I'll be there... ink it... thank you so much... Shawn Helmsley... yes, the nurse... yes, he is, do you need his license number? 487931-CO... you're welcome... Yes, Sir... thank you, Reverend, see you tomorrow... you too, Sir... good-bye," Adam pushed the button to end the call.

During the call, Adam had opened his wedding binder to the calendar page for December. "That was Reverend Brower with Evans Memorial Chapel. We are inked in, December sixth at four in the afternoon. You can't back out now," Adam said with a happy laugh, as he made some notes in the book. He'd made more wedding plans in less than a week than he had in six months with Chris.

"Perfect. Who wants to back out? He asking about the deposit?" Bret asked as he laid back in his lounge, his arms over his head. Adam licked his lips as he looked at Bret. Hart's muscles were stretched tight, a light sweat glistened on his tanned skin.

His handsome fiancé distracted the physician. "Um... what? Oh... um yeah, deposit. I'll meet the Reverend in the morning. I'll actually pay the whole fee, it's five hundred. We get the Chapel from four till seven. That gives us an hour before the wedding," Adam said distractedly at first, then more concentrated as he looked at his book.

Bret stretched his lean body again, he made his bearlike growl He was teasing his boy and he loved it. "Perfect. Oh, remind me again that I have to get an open flame permit from the City Fire Prevention Committee for the candles. It wouldn't look good for me to forget that," the Captain said with another languid stretch.

"Um... yeah... the Special Event Open Flame Permit from... well you know that..." Adam could barely think, Bret was driving him crazy and he had to bite his lip to keep his cock under control.

Bret chuckled, and went back to reading his book after finishing up with the brochures. Adam decided to fight fire with fire. He closed his lap top computer, and his wedding binder. Adam pulled his long pony tail out of its elastic band and fanned his fingers through his hair, it gleamed in the sun.

Adam stretched his long, lanky body with an arch to his back. His shorts rode up his thighs even higher, his arms were stretched over his head like Bret had done. After his languid stretch, he began to rub suntan oil over his chest and abdomen. The slick liquid highlighted his six-pack and chest muscles. After he'd oiled his torso, Adam made a point of putting the tanning aide on his long, curvy legs. He lifted each leg in the air as he rubbed them. Lastly he oiled his arms, being careful of the bandage on the back of his left hand.

Bret watched every move Adam made with lust filled eyes. He realized that as hard as he had tried, his boy had won the teasing contest, hands down, or rather cocks up. With a low, lusty growl, Bret got up and moved to Adam's lounge chair. The firefighter slid onto the lounge with the physician. He settled in between Adam's legs. He released the lever , and laid the lounge back so that Adam was lying flat on his back.

"Oh, I win!" Adam said with a playful giggle as Bret settled his body against Adam's.

"Not sure about that, maybe I'm the winner," Bret said with a wink as he captured Adam's lips with his. His boy's skin was soft, warm and smelled like coconuts from the oil he'd just applied.

As they kissed, Bret's hands slid into the waist band of the short, shorts. Adam raised his butt up and Bret's hands slid around to caress his lover's ass. Adam moaned softly, as Bret nuzzled and kissed his neck and shoulders. His hands ran up and down Bret's broad, muscular back.

Just as Bret was ready to yank Adam's shorts off and give his boy a killer blow job, Shawn and Hunter came around the corner of the house. Bret uttered a string of curse words into Adam's ear, but they weren't the sweet, seductive kind. "Now, Bear, behave, and get your hand off my cock," Adam whispered with a deep blush.

"I told you we should have called," Shawn said with an embarrassed laugh. He could tell Bret was not happy.

"Put it back in your pants, Buddy. I seem to recall someone barging in on me and Heartbreaker more than once. Payback is hell," Hunter said with a raucous laugh that left both Shawn and Adam flush faced.

Bret rolled his eyes and laughed, he couldn't really be mad at his dearest friends. He held the chair for Shawn as the nurse sat in a regular redwood patio seat. Hunter sat on the end of the lounge with Adam.

"Hey kid. Is the bandage alright? I worried that I made it too small, too soon," he spoke in his doctor's tone and took Adam's left hand in his to examine the aforementioned bandage.

Bret went inside to fix some iced tea for the Helmsley's and give his cock a chance to calm down. He also put some of the chocolate chip cookies Adam had baked that morning on a plate.

"It's fine, Hunter. So, why are you really here?" Adam asked, his brow raised. He always knew when the older man had bad news.

"I told you, the bandage excuse wouldn't work. Just tell him Trips, Adam is a mature adult, most of the time," Shawn said with a chuckle. His eyes lit up like Christmas when Bret came out with a plate of cookies on a tray, with two glasses of iced tea.

Bret laughed, "We should have named you Cookie Monster instead of Heartbreaker," the Captain teased as he sat back down on his lounge chair.

"Okay. I've talked to Paul. I'm sorry, but you can't have the time off you wanted. You can have December fourth through the fifteenth, that's twelve days. He also said, if you'll work Christmas Day, you can have New Years Eve and Day off. I'm sorry, we both tried, but too many others asked for days off in December first. We have to be fair. Paul is willing to make it up to you. You can have the entire month of February off," Hunter knew both Bret and Adam would be upset.

At lest Adam didn't know Bret had hoped to take him home to Calgary for Christmas. Bret could see the emotion on Adam's face. Adam had thought they would be off for the month of December to just be together for a long "weddymoon" as it was now affectionately called.

Hunter moved to sit in a chair next to Shawn, as Bret moved to sit with Adam on the lounge. Tears were already about to spill from the physician's eyes. The Captain pulled Adam into his arms. The married couple watched with affection at the way Bret took care of Adam.

"Sugar, it happens in our line of work, you know this. We'll have twelve days together, then New Years. I'll get New Years off. I've never done that, ever; not even for Davy. Tell you what, how about I take you down to the Springs. We'll stay at the Broadmoor, in one of their best suites? We'll stay a week, go down for our wedding night. Then in February, I'll take you on a long trip to some place special," Bret spoke softly. He hoped Adm would like his idea. He knew Adam had always wanted to stay at the Broadmoor.

Adam's expression changed as Bret spoke. He was disappointed, but a week at the Broadmoor would be a dream come true. Bret had remembered how much he'd wanted to go there. "You'd do that for me? A week at the Broadmoor? I'm sure you tried Hunter. It is what it is, thank you for trying," Adam said with a sigh, but with an honest tone. He knew getting a month of during the holiday season was nearly impossible anyway.

Shawn was shocked. Normally news like that would have been met with a hysterical crying fit or angry outburst. Adam could be a spoiled diva brat at times. Shawn had expected the same today, the tears had formed, but Bret had been able to keep Adam in a reasonable frame of mind.

"Yes, Sugar. We'll spend a week at the Broadmoor. Jerry will be happy, he had to pull in a lot of favors to get my time off. I'll arrange for as much of February off as possible," Bret said with a gentle kiss to Adam's lips. He was proud that Adam had handled the disappointment so well.

"As long as you are both here, let me ask your opinion on something. I was thinking about asking Wade to be a groomsman," Adam said to the two men he looked on as parents.

"I think that would be kind of you. He's really isolated himself at work. When he's not with a patient, he's in his office," Shawn explained as he stuffed his fourth cookie into his mouth.

"I agree, it will be good for him. Say, have you heard from the Chapel yet about the deposit?" Hunter asked his brow raised.

"Then I think I will ask him. Yes, I'm just going to pay the fee for the Chapel. We got the date and we can use it from four till seven. That's perfect for a five o'clock wedding," Adam said with hesitancy. He knew Hunter would want to pay and Adam still felt guilty about it.

"Here then; and wipe the look. Remember what we told you. It's the way Judy wanted it," the older doctor said as he pulled out his wallet. Hunter pulled out ten one hundred-dollar bills.

"No, Hunter, it's only five hundred. I still feel funny about this. Are you sure this money is from ma?" Adam asked as he reluctantly reached out for the cash.

"Yes, honey. I promise. Judy left the money for this purpose. We're getting a debit card for you from the account, should have it tomorrow or Tuesday. The cruise is paid for, so don't worry about that. Adam, I'm very proud of you for taking the news about the time off so well. Hunter and Paul really tried, but too many people wanted time off in December and they did ask before you," Shawn spoke honestly. He was very proud of Adam.

"Okay. I just feel funny about the money, but a debit card would come in handy. I'm or rather we are meeting with the event coordinator on Thursday Hopefully the reception will be at the Marion Gottesfeld Room. It's so beautiful and plenty of room for dancing. Flavors will do the catering," Adam said as he grabbed his binder and flipped to the reception section.

"I love that room, and it's not too far from the Chapel. So, catering? I'm offended!" Shawn said with a laugh. He was actually relieved. Sometimes he got asked to cater small parties for people at work, but a big wedding was something all together different.

Adam laughed, "You're happy about that and you know it. Are you sure about the cake?" he was worried about offending Shawn for real.

"Oh good Lord, yes. I do not want that kind of pressure. Mrs. Wilson will do a beautiful job. Now, show me all you have done. You don't mess around," Shawn said with another laugh. Bret and Shawn changed seating places.

Shawn and Adam were soon, happily lost in wedding talk while Bret and Hunter wandered off to the garage to look at the Captain's motorcycle restoration project. Later the two couples made a pile of sandwiches and enjoyed a light dinner under the summer stars.

Hours later, after finishing what they had started before the Helmsley's interrupted, Bret and Adam were lying in each others arms, basking in the after glow of sex. Bret was gently caressing Adam's arm as he lay curled up close. Adam's head rested on his lover's chest, he left hand caressed the Captain's torso, just as gently. They loved this time together, of touching and whispering quietly.

"Hey, Sugar, when you were talking to Shawn, just before we went to the garage, I heard you say you weren't used to all this yet, what did you mean? Am I making you uncomfortable about something?" Bret asked in a bit of a worried tone. He'd been wondering about Adam's statement all day.

Adam kissed Bret's chest, "no, no. I meant I'm not used to you wanting to help make the wedding plans. You know meet with people, that sort of thing. Last time, with Chris, he just was not interested. I love that you want to be involved," he spoke softly as his fingers caressed Bret's sex warmed skin.

"Why wouldn't I? It is our wedding. I love doing these things with you, while I can. When we go back to work, try to schedule things for our together off days. If you can't that's okay. Promise me something, don't put anything off to wait to talk to me. I trust your judgment on things," Bret said with a soft kiss to the top of Adam's head.

"Okay, I appreciate you, Bear. See this is what I mean. Now I know what a real relationship is like. It's working together, facing hardships together, laughing in the good times together, or even crying together. I love you," Adam's words were simple, plain and sweet.

"I love you," Bret's reply was just as sweet, with a kiss to Adam's lips. As the kiss deepened, they were soon on their way into the sexual heavens once again.

Wednesday morning, Adam was fully dressed and ready for the day. He was wearing a navy blue button down, black slacks and shoes with a navy blazer. His long hair was pulled into a neat pony tail. Adam leaned back against the kitchen counter and sipped a cup of coffee. Bret was in a t-shirt and comfy jeans. His hair was also pulled into a slightly messy pony tail. He was eating a bowl of cereal while looking at the catering menu from Flavors by Sodexo.

"Make your choices, Bear, then we'll go over them later. You sure your okay with this? You can come if you want?" Adam asked his brow raised. He was on his way to meet Wade for lunch. He was going to ask the Brit to be in the wedding. After more talking, they decided to ask Wade to be in the wedding. They knew he was contrite and because of what he'd tried to do, was isolating himself. That wasn't good, both Adam and Bret wanted Wade to know that forgiveness was forgiveness.

"No, Sugar. Hunter is coming over to help me with the bike. But, if anything goes awry, call me immediately, I'll be here," the firefighter said honestly. He trusted Adam completely and he was okay with the fact that Adam was meeting Wade at the English pub.

"Okay. You boy's don't get grease all over my house. Too bad Shawn had to work, he's so much better at explaining things. I promise to call if things go south. We'll I'd better go, I have to stop at the florists first, then the printers. Back later. Oh turn the crock pot down before you go out to the garage," Adam said as Bret put his cereal bowl in the dishwasher.

"I will. Be careful driving, your hand isn't one hundred percent yet, and I know neither is my wrist," Bret said with a wink as he took Adam into his arms. They kissed. Bret then walked Adam out to his Mustang. With another kiss on his lips, Adam left for his errands and meeting with Wade.

Adam stopped at four flower shops. He picked up brochures and price lists to go over with Bret. He then went to four print shops. He picked up samples of wedding invitations and catalogs and more price lists. So much to do, so little time.

The blond doctor sat in his car outside the last print shop. He called his brother. "Hi Jay... fine... Yes, I'm on my way now... I will... Heath doing okay?... Really? That's great... a remarkable recovery... you're joking, he does?... I'd go for it, but I'll have to talk to Bret about something that big... okay, tonight, and I'll let you know tomorrow... yup... love you too, and Heath... bye bro," Adam ended the call on his smart phone. He was in shock.

Jason had just told him that The Lionhearts wanted to be the band at the reception, for free. It had all be Chris' idea. Jason said it would serve two purposes, firstly helping Adam and secondly giving the band a chance at their first performance since the plane crash. Adam liked the idea, but he'd talk to Bret about it tonight, this was to big for his fiancé not to be consulted. Both Wade and Chris as part of their wedding, wasn't life ironic?

At elven-thirty Adam pulled into the parking lot of the English pub. In all the times he'd been there, Adam had never realized the real name of the pub was The Three Lions, another bit of irony. With a laugh he got of the car. He made sure his phone was in his pocket as he walked into the pub.

"Doctor Adam Copeland, I'm meeting Doctor Wade Barrett," Adam said politely to the hostess. The place was extremely busy. It was a very popular lunch spot for local businessmen and women.

The hostess smiled, "Right this way please, Doctor Copeland. You're party is here," she led Adam to a booth along the row of front windows. Wade was in the last booth. When he saw Adam approach, the Englishman stood. The two men greeted each other with a handshake. That sat opposite each other as the hostess laid a menu in front of each doctor, then left the men to enjoy their lunch.

They made idle chat while looking at the menu. When the waitress came, Adam ordered the fish and chips in traditional pub style. Beer battered white fish served with tartar sauce, crispy fries and coleslaw. Wade chose the pastrami Ruben sandwich, made with house smoked pastrami, hot melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island on marble rye bread. Both men ordered large colas to drink.

"Um, so um, how is your hand, oh and a um Bret's? Wade asked politely. He was a bit nervous and curious about why Adam had wanted to meet for lunch, but he'd wait for the blond to bring the reason to the table.

"It's fine. I do get shooting pains when I over use it. Hunter said that's perfectly normal, which I knew. Sometimes I think he forgets I am a doctor. Bret is fine too, thank you. He and Hunter are playing mechanics today, or he would have joined us," Adam said with a smile. He wasn't sure hot to broach the subject of the wedding.

Their food arrived and the two men tucked in. Adam chewed thoughtfully on a delicious, house made crispy french fry. He decided to just ask. "Wade, the reason I asked you to lunch is to ask you a favor. No, not a favor, that makes it sound "cheap" and last-minute, and I don't mean it that way." Adam tripped over his words. Well, he'd messed that up royally.

"Adam, just say it, whatever it is. I'm sure you wouldn't be here if you didn't think it important. Am I in more trouble? With Hunter or Shawn, perhaps? I have tried to do the best work I can and keep to myself," Wade said with a crunch of his own french fry.

Adam smiled, "No Wade. In fact, Hunter told me yesterday that he was very pleased with your work. Shawn said you were the only one who could comfort that baby after his mother died in that car accident a couple of days ago. If Shawn is impressed; you've made it. Now, I want to ask you, would do the honor of being one of my groomsmen? Stand up with me at the wedding?" he easily found his words after hearing Wade. The Englishman sounded so lonely.

Wade nearly dropped his glass of cola, his face paled. For a moment, his mouth moved, but no sounds came out. Finally after a sip of his drink, the words found air and passed over his lips. "Adam, are you serious? What about Bret? I'm sure he won't like it and I don't want to be the reason for you two to argue. I don't think it's a good idea, but I appreciate you asking," his tone was humble and forthright.

"Yes, I am serious and Bret and I have talked about it. We agreed that you have more than repaid for... the file. If we forgive you, and we do, then it's over. I consider you a friend, and I would honestly like you to stand with Jay and Heath during the wedding. Please say yes, Wade. I wouldn't ask you if I didn't mean it," Adam's voice was warm and honest. His mouth held a soft smile.

"You are serious aren't you? Then I would be honored to be a groomsman, thank you Adam. It means a lot to me, it really does. So, what do you want me to wear?" Wade's tone went from doubtful to happy. He was pleased Adam wanted to give him a second chance to be friends, maybe even earn his full trust again.

"Wonderful! Thank you, Wade. It's December sixth, the wedding is at five, reception to follow. Bret and his groomsmen will be in their Departmental dress uniforms. You three will have standard black tuxes, with cutaway jackets. I haven't fully decided on cummerbund and tie colors yet, I'm looking at a special printed fabric, but I'm not sure about it yet. Maybe I'll just go with sliver or sky blue. I'll let you know where to rent in a couple of weeks," Adam said thoughtfully, he simply couldn't decide about the fabric he'd found or to go with plain silver or sky blue, his wedding colors.

"Um, I own a black tux and I have three jacket choices. I have a white dinner style jacket, a black dinner style jacket, and a black cutaway. I'll only need to rent or buy the tie and cummerbund, as I only have black. Of course, will buy a new matching shirt," Wade said with a robust bite of his sandwich. He was so pleased to have been asked to be a part of the wedding.

"Good. A lot of formal parties in London? I'll let you know about the details later. I hope nothing major happens between four and six that night. Ted, Cody and Dolph are ushers, but on call at the hospital. Hunter couldn't give every one the second shift off or there would be no experienced doctors. But, because the hospital is across the street, almost, he said they could come usher if they wore their pagers," Adam explained with a laugh. He was happy too, because Wade seemed to be honestly pleased with his request.

Wade suddenly turned serious, his face lost all its color, his hands began to shake, nearly causing him to drip his last bite of sandwich. "I don't believe it. He's here?" Wade barely whispered as he stared across the pub.

"Wade? Wade? What's wrong? Who is here?" Adam asked as he put down his own fork. He turned to look where Wade's eyes were focused.

Barrett swallowed hard, "It's Regal, from London. Why in the bloody hell is he here? There's not an International Convention we missed or anything is there?" Wade was a mass of confusion, but fear was the obvious front-runner.

"You mean the one that... oh Wade, what can I do to help?" Adam didn't know what to do. He saw the British doctor was headed their way, with a young man following behind.

"Well, well, fancy this, it's Doctor Barrett. Wasn't sure if we'd see each other or not, but I never expected to see you here, today. I'd like you to meet my new prodigy, Doctor Adam Rose, from Johannesburg, South Africa. He's a brilliant Emergency Surgeon and he's only a first year resident. He's come to London to finish his studies with us. Adam, this is Doctor Wade Barrett, the one on the exchange program I told you about," Doctor Regal's tone was sneering, almost condescending.

"Pleased to meet you Doctor Barrett, I've heard a lot about you," Rose said in a friendly tone, there also seemed to be something else behind the young surgeon's eyes. How well Adam Copeland knew the look, it was fear; fear of the older man he was with.

"Pleasure to meet you Doctor Rose. Doctor Regal, Doctor Rose, this is Doctor Adam Copeland, Assistant Head of the Emergency Department at the University of Colorado Hospital," Wade introduce formally, he was trying to hide his own fear.

"Ah yes, Doctor Helmsley's protégé. Very pleased to meet you Doctor Copeland. Hunter told me all about you, when he was in England. Now, I suppose you must be wondering what I or rather, we are doing here. Well, I shall tell you, may we join you?" Regal asked as he slid into the booth next to Wade without waiting to be invited.

"Four cups and pot of Earl Gray, blueberry scones and lemon curd," Regal said to the waitress. She had come to clear away the dishes from Wade and Adam's lunch. With a nod she left with the dirty dishes.

Barrett and Copeland exchanged glances, they had no choice now, but to stay. Adam flashed Wade a look that told Wade he wouldn't leave him. Wade flashed back letting Adam know he was grateful.

"Now, where was I? Oh yes. Why are we here. Well, I was due for a long holiday. Doctor Rose is going to be enrolled in Hunter's Techniques of Emergency Surgery course. I'm sure you are enrolled as well, Wade," Regal said as he rubbed his hands together. The waitress had brought their order. Doctor Rose poured the tea, then added lemon and sugar to the cup for Doctor Regal, and stirred it. It was obvious this was not his first time at serving the older man.

"Oh, I forgot about that course. It's one he teaches between the summer and fall semesters. I'm taking it next year, with Doctor Barrett. The class filled up before we got a chance to enroll," Adam said to the visitors. He hoped Wade didn't mind that he had just told a lie. It seemed like the proper thing for him to say.

"Ah, I see. I also see congratulations are in order. Wade you have excellent taste in both men and engagement rings. I never figured you as a pink diamond man," Doctor Regal said in a near mocking tone, as he lifted Adam Copeland's left hand and admired the beautiful engagement ring.

Adam pulled his hand away in a pained wince, Regal had squeezed his injured hand. He'd finally been able to put the pink diamond ring on his left ring finger last weekend. Adam started to speak but Wade beat him to it.

"Be careful! Didn't you notice the bandage on his hand! No, Adam isn't my fiancé. He is engaged to Captain Bret Hart of the Denver Fire Department. I'm not seeing anyone, I'm too busy for... love," Wade sneered back. He'd forgotten just how much he hated Doctor William Regal.

"I'm so sorry, Doctor Copeland, nothing serious I hope. I'm sorry, then congratulations to you and Captain Hart. Too busy, Wade? Or is it that you found out you can't sleep your way up the ladder?" Regal did sneer his words this time. At Regal's words about "sleeping his way up the ladder," Adam Rose lowered his head, as if in shame. He excused himself and went to the restroom.

"It was serious. I was bitten by a rattlesnake, almost two weeks ago. Wade saved my life, then hours later, he saved my fiancé's life by giving him blood. Wade is a true hero. Now, please excuse me a moment," Adam stood and went to the restroom. He hated to leave Wade, but he had something to do. Wade smiled and nodded, he understood.

Before Regal could corner him, Barrett excused himself to make a phone call and pay the lunch tab. Regal smirked and drank his tea, with an evil smirk on his lips.

When Adam got to the restroom, Adam Rose was splashing water on his face. He looked up, frightened when the door opened. "Sorry Doctor Rose, I didn't mean to startle you. Are you alright?" Adam asked in a gentle tone.

"I'm fine Doctor Copeland. Jet lag, we just got here this morning. I'm sorry about William, he's a bit... British sometimes," the other Adam said in an apologetic tone.

"Call me Adam, it will be confusing, but who cares. Listen, I wanted to give you this. If you ever need help of any kind call me, anytime. Adam, I mean any kind of help. I've been there and I understand," Copeland said as he handed Rose his business card. His personal cell phone number was hand written on the front as well.

"Um, thanks, I appreciate that. I really do. Maybe we can meet up sometime. I'd better get back, William gets anxious if I take too long," Adam Rose said hurriedly. He put Adam's card in his wallet and turned to leave.

"Adam, please know, you have friends here, Wade, myself, Bret my fiancé, the Helmsley's. We're all here if you need any help. You are not alone," Adam said with a knowing tone, he only hoped the other Adam understood.

The younger intern smiled and left the restroom. He quickly slid back into the booth. "I'm warning you boy. If you want to finish med school, keep your slutty mouth shut, or around my cock. One word to anyone one about any thing and any hope you have for being a doctor goes out the window, understand my little whore?" Regal said with a painful pinch to Rose' cheek.

"Yes Sir, I understand, I swear. I'll say nothing. I will just attend my class and study, I swear, I swear!" Adam Rose said earnestly.

Both men quickly changed tact as Wade and Adam returned to the booth. Adam had met Wade on the way back to the table and explained that he'd given Rose his card. Wade said he understood exactly, but they had no proof. All they could do is help if and only when asked. The two men agreed to meet later and talk about it. They then went back to the booth.

"It was a pleasure to meet you both, but I have to get to my next appointment. Be sure to see Hunter and Shawn while your here, Doctor Regal. Hunter loves to show off his Emergency Room. Doctor Rose, good luck with your class. You will love Hunter, he's a great teacher. Call if you need any help with your studies. Bye for now," Adam Copeland said as he left the pub. He waited by his car for Wade to come out.

Wade came out and went to Adam. "He's doing the same thing, if not worse to that poor boy. Once Regal goes back to England, we can do something. Thanks for today Adam. I appreciate you," Wade said with a genuine smile.

"Once Regal goes back, I'll talk to Shawn about Adam. Oh this will get confusing. But Wade, we can't help till he realizes and asks for it. I know from experience. Wade, I'm serious, as we all are, about the past being in the past. You are my friend, end of story, I'll call you soon. Take care." Adam gave Wade a hug and it was returned.

The two friends parted company. Little did they know that Fate was shuffling her deck of cards. She laughed as she laid them out on the table, things were about to get very interesting.
