Chapter 364
With a vampire standing outside Willow's first instinct was to call Buffy. But Lawson told them he knew their mutual friend Angel from World War II. He gave Willow his address and left long before sunrise. When Angel went to Lawson's place he remembered the war. He blamed himself for Lawson becoming a vampire, and he hated what he might have to do. But with a soulless vampire possibly stalking Willow, Angel feared that he might have little choice.
Lawson: Angel, long time no see.
Angel: Yeah. What have you been doing since?
Lawson: Still working for the army, covertly.
Angel: Ofcourse.
Lawson: Seems we no sooner defeated the Nazies then the Communists were our enemies again. Then they're defeated, and we have to fight these Muslim groups. After this, we'll probably be at war with Israel.
Angel: How do you figure Israel?
Lawson: We're at war with everyone sooner or later, and the jews are popular scapegoats. Angel: So you still believe in America?
Lawson: I need to believe in something, or what should I do with eternity? Seriously if you have any ideas, let me know.
Angel: Fair enough. But if you go after any of my friends again eternity is about to get a lot shorter.
Lawson: Fair enough. I cae to ask for your help again. There's a new threat out there, something that's a threat to all of us. I think you've heard of them, the scourge.
