Wow so am I horrible or what?! It's been like a month since the last one shot and I am sooo sorry guys! To make up for it I will post the next one shot tomorrow after i'm done proof reading it and fixing anything that needs to be fixed. Again, I am sooo sorry for the long wait. ;)

Oneshot 36: Too Far

This fight was different.
Fuu could tell.
She saw it in the way Mugen's shoulders stiffened and her vision blurred. She even heard it in the steely rasp of her own voice.
"Save it Girly!" Mugen spat. "I screwed up. I get it. Leave it the fuck alone already."
"This Lady ran off with all of the money we have, Mugen!" Fuu yelled back, getting in his face now. "How could you be so stupid?! She was obviously scamming you, but of course you fell for her big boobs!"
"Like you can talk! You were oh so ready to run off with her brother!"
"He was offering me a job you idiot, how was I supposed to know they were professional thieves?!"
"You'll follow around any bastard who gives you the time of day! Let me guess, this job involved taking off all your clothes and posing for a picture huh? We all know how much you loved it the last time!"
Fuu gasped and crossed her arms. "Take that back, jerk!"
Mugen placed his hands in his pockets and shrugged, a spiteful grin on his face. "Why the fuck would I take back something that's true?"
The slap echoed through out their small quarters and Fuu didn't even realize she had done it until her hand was hanging in mid hair, Mugen's face turned to the side with the force of it. Slowly, his cheek turned red and he lifted a hand to rub at his jaw line.
Fuu's breathing was heavy as she lowered her hand and shook her head. "Mu-"
"Are you two done patronizing each other?" Jin spoke up from the doorway, causing wide brown eyes and hard black ones to turn and stare at him. "All of Edo can hear you."
Fuu jumped at the ice cold laugh that escaped Mugen's lips. "Let them. I don't give a shit. Let them hear how much of a stupid idiot I am. It's not like it's a secret." He was still rubbing his cheek and Fuu knew that it wasn't because it hurt physically.
"Mugen I-" she tried again, only to be shot down by his hard glare.
"Save your breath. Don't apologize for something you obviously meant."
"I was just mad," she blurted, tugging on his arm as he turned to leave the room. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have hit you!"
Mugen shrugged off her arm and kept on walking. "Whatever."
Jin moved out of his way as he stormed pass, not even flinching when the door was slammed shut.
"We'll get the money back," the four-eyed samurai addressed Fuu, causing her to look up at him with watery eyes. Sure the money was important but that was now the least of her worries.
Mugen's betrayed expression after she had slapped him was all she saw when she blinked.

After giving him some much needed space Fuu found Mugen at a field not too far from town. He lay stretched out beneath a large cherry blossom tree with his eyes closed, and for a second she considered turning around and leaving all together.
"What do you want?"
So much for leaving.
"To say sorry… again."
Fuu picked at her finger nervously, waiting patiently as Mugen took a deep breath.
"Sit down."
She breathed a sigh of relief and quickly sat down in the grass as close to Mugen as she possibly dared. The wind moved his hair and clothes back and forth as she studied him.
"I used to get the shit beat out of me when I was kid," he said.
And Fuu didn't have to ask him to explain. She just scooted closer and laid the palm that slapped him on his cheek and let her fingers dance across his stubble.
Mugen slowly opened his eyes and peered up at her in a sleepy daze. "Your hand feels nice when it aint hitting me."
Fuu smiled down at him and gently lowered her lips unto his cheek, blushing at Mugen's unwavering gaze. "I promise to never slap you like that again… unless you're being a jerk." A cheek smile graced her face just as Mugen grabbed her arms and pulled her down so that he could roll on top of her.
"Mugen!" Fuu cried, trying to be serious through a burst of giggles. "Cut it out!"
"Don't feel like it," the sleepy pirate mumbled, burying his nose in her neck and causing her laughter to turn into gasps. "You were jealous of that thief girl, weren't ya? It's why you were all mad and red in the face."
"I… was not… red in the face!" Fuu protested between peels of laughter. "And if I remember correctly you were jealous of her brother!"
Mugen lifted his head at that and stopped her breath with a sly grin. "Only because he was staring at your ass every five seconds."
"He was not!"
"You really are clueless, girly."
Fuu flexed her trapped fingers in his grasp. "Oh yeah? Just how clueless?"
Mugen lowered unto his forearms until their noses were touching and breaths were mingling. "Dumb as fuck clueless," he whispered, causing her nose to scrunch up in indignation.
"If you're trying to get me to kiss you, calling me dumb isn't helping," Fuu murmured back, desperately trying to ignore the close proximity of their lips.
Mugen rolled his eyes and lowered the lower half of his body fully unto her, making Fuu's breath catch in her throat. "Only a dumb person wouldn't realize how much I want them right now."
Fuu blinked in surprise and let out a shocked squeak when Mugen descended on her mouth. She was even more surprised to find that the kiss was tentative, almost as if the infamously fearless Mugen was actually scared to continue. But then she was tilting her head forward and deepening the contact and all of his apprehension immediately went out the window. Mugen consumed her, his tongue darting out to taste her and her lips parting for him to get better excess. Her heart raced as his mouth slanted over hers and she felt so alive although there were was hardly any air left in her lungs.
"Mugen," she breathed, when he finally pulled away, slipping her hands out of his hold to run them up his chest and wrap her arms around his neck.
Mugen peppered kisses along her jaw and down her neck, coming back up to christen her nose with one. "What?" he muttered, voice raspy from lack of oxygen.
"I can't feel my legs," Fuu giggled, squirming beneath him.
Mugen lifted his head from kissing both her cheeks and gave her a devilish grin.
"Then spread them."
Hey guys hope you liked it! Personally I think this one shot was very anti-climatic, although I am quite proud of the kiss. I feel like I let down the potential this one shot had in the angst department. There was so many different routes I could have taken it and I chose the easy way out. *le sigh*
Anyways... thanks for reading and sticking with me through thick and thin! I love all of you immensely;)
Response to previous QOTD: I'm so glad most of you would like to see a full chapter story of the Present Day AU! I'm still thinking about it and the plot I would like it to have. It's definitely a possibility.
QOTD: Do you think I should change the rating of these One shots to M? Because there's a lot of cursing, sexual innuendos, and even a mention of rape in one of the one shots? The only thing is I don't want to rate it M and then have people come read it expecting lemons and smut when there is none. Hmm... idk, you guys tell me what you think.

Mugen: Let him go. He'll come crawling back when he can't figure out how to hail a taxi or use a phone.
Fuu: Do you think we were too hard on him?
Mugen: *snorts* We weren't hard enough.
AshAnime: Hey guys I was just pulling in the driveway and I saw Jin walking down the street with a suitcase. What's that all about?
Fuu: *looks to Mugen nervously*
Mugen: *clears throat*
Both: Beats me!
