Chapter 368
Riley, Forrest, and Graham were hunting for Adam yet again. They still weren't sure what they could do if they found him. Walsh's chip was suppossed th prevent him from hurting humans, but he'd nearly killed professor Walsh in the Initiative before escaping. Walsh theorized that Adam could've figured out some way to deactivate it. Or he could've activated all it's power at once and survived the pain with his superior strength. The good news was Adam hadn't killed anyone since his escape, at least not that they knew of. He might not want to kill humans, or he might be laying low. Adam was suppossed to be the first, so he might think of himself as the first of a potential master race. Too many unanswered questions, so few answers. Colonel Mcnamara wasn't normally one to question orders, but he clearly had doubts about president Wilkins' agenda. This night was turning out fruitless, again, when colonel Mcnamara radioed them. They were to come with him to Rupert Giles' "Magick Shop." They had a truce with this group, although said group had released an ancient power called "Illyria." Illyria also hadn't been seen since it's own escape. Apparently magick had the same potential for disater as science. That kid Xander had made a wisecrack about this. In the movies the phrase "What could go wrong" is usually after some version of "with the DNA we found in this mosquito we can bring back dinosaurs" and some version of "Oh my God! They're loose! Run for your lives!" He was right. Maybe the purpose of this meeting was an official alliance against both Adam and Illyria. Or maybe, against an even worse threat.
