Chapter 2 – Colors
"Seriously Dipper why do you need those shrinking crystals again? Didn't we get enough trouble from them last time?" Mabel whined as they made their way into the forest. The weather was calm and sky was clear.
"I know Mabel. I just want a small sample to study. I want to know how they work." Dipper replied.
Mabel rolled her eyes and looked away. Then something caught her attention. There was a long colorful rainbow coming from the waterfalls. Mabel stared at it in awe.
"Wow, isn't that amazing!" she pointed out.
Dipper nodded. "Yeah,"
Then a question hit her. "Dipper, where do rainbows come from?" she asked.
Dipper rubbed his chin in thought. It was a good question and he of course knew the answer to it, but he didn't know how to put in simple words for his sister to understand. "Well you see, light is made of lots of colors and when the water drops reflect the sun light it separates it into seven colors. There are more than just seven but our eyes can't see them." he explained.
Mabel nodded in understanding. "I wish I was able to help Gruncle Stan see a rainbow." she said shuddering at the memory.
Dipper raised a brow. "You know, you could have just brought him here to see it."
Mabel chuckled sheepishly. "Yeah, I did."
