Chapter 376
Giles, Ethan, and Jenny traveled to the Society of Thieves. While not a member Ethan was familiar with them. They often worked together on bigger scores, but trust was still a problem. Centuries ago one legend, known as the king of thieves, built a maze, filled with booby traps, to hide his loot. Only he knew the way around all the traps. After this king died noone knew how to survive the maze, many died trying. The law of the society said anyone could try. These three plannes to sneak into this den of thieves, go into the maze, retrieve the piece of the Chalice, and leave. They tried sneaking in covertly, but someone recognized Giles. Ethan then revealed himself to the group. Giles was grateful that Ethan didn't expose Jenny. Ethan had not told Giles about his previous attempt to navigate the maze. He had not gotten to the treasure, but found a way out to survive. Ethan got his own life, and Giles' spared by asking to be let into the maze. The thieves agreed. Giles understood why their lives were being spared. The thieves were placing bets on how long before they died. If they actually returned with the treasure these thieves would likely try to steal some of it. Giles was also curious about what exactly Ethan's history with the Society was.
