Chapter 386
Faith wasn't sure how long Trask's men had been hurting her. She'd fought back ofcourse, even taken a few of them out. But, even with an actual slayer, sometimes there is no substitute for large numbers. The longer this lasted the angrier Trask got. Faith knew he'd probably be executed for failure. Faith estimated that she'd been tortured for at least a day, but it was difficult to keep track of time right now. Finally Trask threatened Faith with death itself. He claimed the Scourge had a weapon, known as the beacon. It's light killed anything with human blood. They had a very limited supply of this, but they often used this for new recruits, making sure they had only pure-bloods. Because Faith had expressed interest in allying with them, and they had some new recruits, Faith would be exposed along with these newbies. Faith wondered if Trask was lying, hoping he was. But either way she refused to betray her friends. She was learning what being a real slayer was all about.
