Chapter 391
Xander, Willow, and Tara reached the two doors. Each door had a talking statue head above them. They were told that one head would always lie, the other would only speak the truth. Behind one was the way to the piece of Chalice. They could ask questions to both, they just had to figure out what to ask to learn which door to go through. Willow and Tara were trying to figure what question would work. Xander thought this sounded familiar. Then he realized what question they should ask. "What door would the other head tell me to use?" He knew the liar would give the false door. The honest one would merely say which door the liar would tell. Thus both heads would give the wrong door. Xander, Willow, and Tara could go through the other door. Willow and Tara were impressed, Xander said he'd seen this in an old muppet movie. They wondered if the old dean of Magick School got the idea from that movie. Or if Jim Henson had some private occult connection.
