Chapter 402
Things were awkwrd between Tara, Willow, and Xander when they returned to the surface. They had retrieved this piece of the Chalice of life, accomplished their mission. But Xander had kissed Willow Only when he regained his senses did he remember that Willow was in love with Tara. He tried to apologize, to both girls. Tara tried to make it into a joke, that Xander had great taste in women. But things were still awkward. When they reached the surface Gwendolyn Post was there to greet them. She asked if they had the Chalice, they showed her the tiny piece. Then she atacked them. She shot lightning from her glov she hadn't had before. They ducked, and tried to run. It was clear that Gwendolyn Post wanted whatever power this Chalice could provide. She tried to hit Willow with this lightning. Tara fought back. It was more instinct than anything else, to protect Willow. Tara deflected the lightning back unto Gwendolyn Post, killing her. Ms Post's death was relatively quick, but extremely painful.
