Within an hour after Buffy's escape, with Barshon as a hostage, Silas addressed Pylea on television.

Silas: I appeal to all of Pylea tonight, both citizens and non-citizens. Our world is under threat from those who wish to destroy our way of life. All races have their place in our heirarchy. But some have chosen to rebel against the natural order. And now, foreign races have come, not merely to conquer us, but to mix with our races and eliminate our purity. Despite animosity between races, we all face the same threat from these foreigners to Pylea. And now, one of these humans has taken minister Barshon hostage. Therefore, I appeal to all true Pyleans, to help find Barshon. And to kill the human called Buffy Summers.
