Lars could see the French airborne, troops of the British, American and Polish forces were coming onto his land. But he could feel more of one nationality and one nationality only.

"Please Canada, help me." The woman says, clutching at Matthews hands and Matthew smiles and nods.
"Oui, Chile, I will do all in my power to give you whatever supplies you will need." The Canadian states, nodding to the woman whom says a thank you and hurries off.
Its when she's gone that he frowns, he was only one man, not a superpower like his brother. Nor was he a superhuman…
But for a fellow nation in need, he would do anything to assist.

It was expected of him to help. It was expected of him to join England's side. It was expected of him to join the side that his "papa" took. It was even more expected that he would join that side because his brother was secretly on that side, it was known he would send weapons to Israel if the Soviet union gave weapons to Egypt.
Imagine their surprise when Canada remained neutral.
Matthew could see the tension, it was the same as the first and second world war. If he added to it…
It would be world war three.
So he remained neutral.
But really to expect him to go on England and Frances side of this? Especially when it was done through invasion.
No, he decried the action England, France, and Israel had taken.
With the help of the UN they were at least able to protect Egypt from England, France and Israel and avoid a third war.
Matthew sighed to himself before a touch to his shoulder made him look to Gupta. The quiet - almost mute - nation looked at Matthew before looking away.
"I want you and the rest of the UN to leave." he said in monotone.
Matthew nodded, things between Egypt and the others have cooled. Their was no longer need to guard both ends.
"Of course." he murmured, about to leave when he felt the subtle clench on Gupta's hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you." Matthew smiled and nodded.
"Any time Gupta."

"How are you feeling Cyprus?" the male looked up before smiling softly.
"I have been feeling better Mr. Canada." He said before sighing.
"I just wished this never happened."
"Oui, I believe we all do." Matt murmured in agreement as he sat besides the Mediterranean nation.
"Invaded by Greece and then invaded by Turkey which caused tension between my people…?" he sighed again. "Luck is not with me."
"Is it ever with our kind?" Matthew asked as he looked out the window.
Cyprus looked over the Canadian before looking away, embarrassed.
"No, I don't believe so."
"It will get better Cyprus." Matthew smiled, though he wonders why the other male blushes and looks away.

The tsunami in Japan and the aftermath shocked everyone. Many nations chipped in to help, even nations who barely knew the Japanese nation. And of course, Matthew helped as well. He was glad that his people were so generous. I mean really, seventy seven thousand dollars already donated to help aid victims in only a few hours after the incident?
He was proud indeed.
Last Matthew checked they had already sent seven point seven million dollars, then Manitoba had announced that its goal was to double province's donation adding another one hundred thousand dollars to what was already donated. Vancouver has also been busy raising money for Japan.
Though those thoughts were lost to him as he looked at the two Canadian born sisters - of Japanese descent - who had just finished - with the help of staff and suppliers of Dorchester Hotel - folding one thousand origami cranes. He smiled at their wish.
"We wish to uplift the people of Japan."

"Thank you, Canada-san." Kiku says, smiling tiredly. He has bandages from the damage done to him but because of the help he had received he was getting better.
Matthew nods, smiling himself - though much sweeter.
"Its nothing Japan, me and my people just wanted to help."
