Buffy and Barshon didn't exacxtly have a plan for findint the rebels. The last time the rebels had found them, hopefully that could happen again. This time Barshon was tied up, looking like Buffy's hostage. If they were captured by the Covenant Barshon't cover would stand. Buffy figured that Barshon might still be Pylea's best chance for freedom, and her group' best chance for the Chalice. Instead they were found by a group of demons, claiming to be with the rebels. Neither Buffy nor Barshon recogized them, they might be spies for the Covenant. But they decided to take the chance. They admitted their plan and asked to see the groosalag. Thus these demons took Buffy and Barshon to their leader.
