Chapter 420
The Master had occassional feelings of human affection. He was more human than he cared to admit. He'd felt this for Darla, Colin, but they betrayed the order of Aurelius. They'd allowed, their fear, their human side, to get the better of them. They would pay when the end came. But the Master had affection for those who shared his love of death and destruction. Drusilla, and now Lilith. Centuries ago Lilith had been a slayer, she tried to slay him. He killed her. But, in a moment of uncertainty, he decided not to finish her off, instead, he turned her. As a human, as a slayer, Lilith had been completely dedicated to the death of vampires. As a vampire herself Lilith was stuck in self-hate. She dedicated herself to her new mission, the end of the world. Until now the Master had kept her away, saving his resources until the final battle. But that battle was rapidly approaching, the Master needed his best warriors in the fight. And there was another reason the Brethen needed Lilith. They had turned Jessie because he knew the slayer, and was friends with a powerful potential. They needed his intel. But Jessie had betrayed the Order, and taken the annointed one. Despite thi setback, it had provided them with knowledge about the good side. They needed more information, what the slayer was doing since then. Buffy Summers was proving to be a thorn in evil's side. Only Lilith was strong enough to take what evil needed. Lilith knew the risks, but if it helped bring about the end of days her death was neccessary. Her mission was to take Buffy's sister Dawn and turn her into a vampire.
