Chapter 422

It had been almost two month since her parents were killed. Fred had grieved, and avenged their deaths. She still cried, would seem fine and then just begin crying. Jenny Calendar had found Fred in the ladies room just crying on the toilet and had comforted her. But Fred tried to move on, for the most part she seemed okay. Then, on wednesday morning, "she" walked into Winifred Burkle's home. Fred recognized this "woman" Illyria. An ancient and powerful demon, partly responsible for her parents' murder. In that moment Fred lost it. She went for her gun and shot Illyria several times. Illyria didn't even change the expression on her face.

.

Illyria: Are you done venting?

Fred: Why are you here

Illyria: I thought I was here to conquer your world, and rule it. But my army is long dead, my temple in ruin. Lesser fools brought me forth to do their bidding. To be their puppet in meaningless squabbles.

Fred: So you murdered my parents, for nothing?

Illyria: Yes. I am no puppet. But I don't know how to live in this world. Where do I belong?

Fred: Belong? You belong with your people in death.

Illyria: Perhaps. But I exist here.

Fred: You want to be here, stop killing innocent people.

Illyria: What about the guilty people, like the man you killed?

Fred: No, that was wrong. I'm probably not a good person to teach you how to act

Illyria: I have nowhere else to go. Will you help me?

.

Fred thought about this. She hated Illyria, looking like her was desecrating her parents' memories. But Illyria was powerful, too dangerous to be left unchecked. Fred knew she had to swallow her own feelings, for the greater good. Fred agreed to help Illyria adapt to this new world.
