Freelancers Ch. 12: Blades of the past

As Ritsu saw Chris trying to walk away she dropped to her knees crying before she choked out
"My love why did you leave me. Do you not care about me?!" and Chris turned around and said, his voice a powder keg of emotions
"The reason I am doing this is I care about you and if you get hurt I could never forgive myself" and as he thought that Ritsu would be mad so he was stunned when she grabbed his hand and smiled saying
"In case you haven't noticed I am a computer program in a mechanical shell. My ghost cannot be hurt and the body can be replaced so don't worry about me" and everyone laughed seeing Chris going quiet until ritsu wrapped him in a hug and he just felt it and nodded before hearing a voice saying
"Aww the two outcasts are stuck, having only each other because no else loves them" and Chris broke the hug before slamming into the voice seeing it was the principles son and Chris rolled him over and snapped quietly
"Eat some fucking tile or you will see what my foot can do to a dense motherfucker's skull" and the boy went to yell about his family only for rico to say
"One I don't give a fuck and two you aren't supposed to be here" and as the kid tried to pull a knife, Henrietta smirked saying
"Don't need you to type" and then grabbed his wrist trying to rip his arm off. As his screams filled the air Rico stopped before both girl's loves smiled and escorted them away, the hotshot looked at them and said
"I will have you all expelled" and Chris smirked before grabbing his leg saying
"Don't need you to dance either" and as the words sank in the kid yelled
"Don't you d- oh god!" as Chris snapped his leg, trying to rip it off in front of the stunned group and as Ritsu saw him pull a gun, Chris realized his love would be in danger and was relieved when Karma tried to break his arm snapping the wrist twisting his hand around before Irina grabbed his arm and drug the kid out of the room before Class 3E could beat him to death. Having seen them leave Koro said
"Okay class now can we get back to what is important?" and Triela said, looking at her boyfriend wondering what looks she would get,
"Yeah like actually becoming assassins and killing that son of a bitch" before the group cheered in agreement but Koro just sat her down. Nodding Chris reached into his shirt and pulled out two necklaces, one looking like an assassin logo with a small hammer head on it, and the other, a sunburst with a lightning bolt of red orange and black. As the kids from 3E all saw it Chris said, his voice calm about the whole thing
"Okay if you want to make fun of me well get it over with" and no one said anything as Rico sang, knowing that Koro had made the marriage between Ritsu and her brother official
"His face was blurred his eyes were gaunt his shirt all soaked with sweat, running hard to catch his kin but he ain't caught them yet" and Ritsu sang
"If you want to save yourself from hell a-riding on our range, cowboy change your ways or with us you will ride, trying to catch the devils heard across these endless skies" and they all nodded as Chris grabbed Ritsu's hand and kissed it sliding a much bigger ring on her finger and smiled before singing
"New mexico on I-40, we could tell by the smell we were heading for hell and the devil was dirty Lyle" and Rico just smiled before looking at Nagisa and saying
"Maybe someday we can do what the boy has just done" getting him smiling and Nagisa pulled out the grenade he tried to use to kill Korosensei and smiled saying
"Rico if I use this to ask you to marry me will it be official?" and everyone laughed before Triela grabbed her shotgun and fired a blast of pellets, getting Chris and Ritsu following suit, filling the sky with pellets causing sensei to dance before one round hit his arm. Seeing it drop, both Ritsu and Chris started to press the attack using their teamwork and viscous skills to ensure that sensei was off balance, but almost as quickly as the two launched the attack they retreated to their seats, sweat dripping all over his face and Ritsu's hair dropped in front of her eyes getting everyone laughing as her reddish tinted light blue eyes shone in the light, Chris blushed and muttered, the rest of the girls from the agency watching and listening to him
"You are so gorgeous and I'll hide out in the back and do a strong shot of whiskey straight out the flask, I'll try and make it through without crying" looking around feeling his entire world all falling into place as Ritsu grabbed his hand and squeezed it, only for the mood to be ruined when the principle and Gastro pounded on the door, setting the entire unit on edge before Nagisa yelled out, Karma slowly passing Chris his knife and sending a text to Richard, who was laying against the trees half asleep,
"What the fuck do you want? If you mess with us again I am sure that the Italians will be more than willing to fuck you up." As Gastro went to make a move, Richard walked in and yelled
"Oh mister Fidel you don't want to fuck with us, because I am not speaking for my family but I am born into a revolution and I'm not taking sides" before grabbing Gastro by the arm and tossing him out of the room, sending him through a window, throwing a knife at Sensei. Watching as he ducked the knife Richard saw Chris and Triela grab him burning sensei as the gloves were made with the BBs and Triela sang
"No I won't back down. You can stand me up at the gates of hell and I won't back down" and even Rico got in on the action and said, knowing of her brothers one time date with Mimi and the car running out of gas,
"When you get a date with Maria, make sure the tank is full, on second thought forget it that one turns out kinda cool" and everyone saw Chris just drop into the chair feeling like a million bricks were dumped on him. Quickly sliding next to him Ritsu brushed his hair and said, her smile infecting him
"No need to look down because we are alive and together so all is right in the world" and all Chris would mutter was "For now everything is good. I don't know for how much longer"
