Chapter 434
Buffy called Angel, told him to get Spike and Darla and meet her at Spike's crypt. Buffy knew their reputations, all three were vicious monsters back in the day. Yet none had murdered innocent people since coming to Sunnydale. Angel had a soul, Spike a chip, Darla was just frightened of the slayer. But they were still vampires, that killer instict never went away completely. Because they'd kept this instinct under control Buffy knew that it was possible albeit difficult. They could help Dawn control her instincts, to survive on butcher blood. They both knew this would be difficult. Buffy feared that the watchers, her friends, the Initiative, and particularly Faith, might not accept Dawn. Faith might try to slay her. Buffy took Joyce's gun. She told her sister that if anyone ever tried to hurt her, she should do what was neccessary to survive.
