Buffy told her friends about Dawn. They were filled with grief. They were less sure about Buffy's response. They understood why Buffy would still protect her little sister. But Dawn was evil, these killer instincts were were new to her. How long had it taken Angel to control his killer nature? Could a new vampire, without a chip, control them? Giles knew that their truce with Faith and president Wilkins was tenuous. Ever since Anne's murder, Faith held a special hatred for all vampires. If Faith attacked Dawn, Buffy would go after Faith. The alliance would be destroyed, and they needed to work together. Giles wondered if this had been part of the Master's plan, to turn allies against each other. If nothing else, the Master would likely enjoy their suffering.
