A Piece of Advice
"Tenma! Pass!" You waved to the brunette.
"Okay! Go, (f/n)!" Tenma kicked the ball to you.
You ran forward, barely avoiding Kirino and Kariya. As you stood in front of the goal, you smiled at Sangoku. That instantly made the goalkeeper nervous. When you smiled like that, it meant something wasn't good. You jumped up.
"(H/n)!" You yelled as you did your signature hissatsu shoot.
"Fence of Gaia!" He managed to catch the ball.
"Nice, Sangoku! (F/n)!" Tenma cheered.
Being the easygoing person you are, you didn't mind that Sangoku caught the ball. You waved to Tenma again and grinned. At the corner of your eye you saw that boy. Your crush. Tsurugi Kyousuke. He, as usual, wasn't giving a damn about anything. Tenma followed your gaze.
"Don't worry, (f/n), he'll notice you soon!"
You blushed at Tenma's words.
"W-What do you mean?"
Tenma, being unusually mysterious, grinned at you.
"You'll see!"
That day, Tenma had asked you to meet him after soccer practice.
"Tenma, where are we going?" You asked as Tenma dragged you away from the school.
"The hospital!"
"Eh?!"
When the two of you reached the Inazuma General Hospital, you ran into a boy with orange hair styled like the sun.
"Hi, Taiyou!"
"Hey, Tenma! Do you wanna play soccer?"
At the mention of the word 'soccer', your guide immediately forgot all about you.
"Yes!"
"Let's play then!" The boy- Taiyou- threw the soccer ball he was holding to Tenma and the two of them started to play while you stood to the side, sweatdropping.
"Taiyou-kun!" The three of you turned to see an angry-looking purple-haired nurse.
Taiyou panicked and hid behind Tenma, which, in your opinion, was the worst way to hide from the nurse.
"F-Fuyuka-san…!"
After being yelled at, Taiyou obediently followed Fuyuka back to his ward and Tenma finally remembered you were there.
"Ah! Gomen, (f/n)!"
You sighed. "It's okay. I know you love soccer."
Tenma rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. As if remembering something important, Tenma started.
"That's right! I brought you here to meet Yuuichi-san!"
You tilted your head to the side, confused. "Yuuichi-san?"
Tenma grabbed your arm and pulled you into the hospital without an explanation.
Tenma brought you to one of the hospital wards. You nearly choked when you saw the name on the door.
"Tsurugi Yuuichi?!"
Tenma smiled. "Yep!"
He knocked on the door politely and entered the room with you. Sitting on the bed was an elder boy who looked really similar to Tsurugi.
"Konnichiwa, Yuuichi-san!" Tenma bowed.
"Ah, Tenma-kun. Hello to you too. Hmm? Who's this?"
Tenma introduced the two of you.
"Yuuichi-san, this is (l/n) (f/n). She's a member of the soccer club. (f/n), this is Tsurugi Yuuichi. He's Tsurugi's elder brother."
"A-Ah, nice to meet you!" You immediately bowed. Yuuichi's face brightened and he chuckled.
"You must be the girl Kyousuke always talks about."
You blushed furiously. "E-Eh?!"
"Nii-san!" The three of you turned to see a furious Tsurugi. The reactions were as following:
"Hi Tsurugi!"
"Hello, Kyousuke."
"T-Tsurugi?!"
Try to guess who said what.
Tsurugi glared at you and Tenma.
"The two of you, get out now!" He pointed to the door.
Tenma immediately grabbed your arm and dragged you out. He closed the door shut, but stopped you from leaving.
"Tenma? Let's go, Tsurugi obviously doesn't want us here."
He brought his index finger to his lips, signalling to you to be quiet. Then he did something very un-Tenma-like.
He pressed his ear to the door.
"Tenma! What are you doing?!" you whispered to him harshly. The said boy gave you a blank look before grabbing your head and practically shoving your ear to the door. You nearly cried out when suddenly, you heard your name.
"… (f/n) seems to be quite a nice girl…"
"I rarely say this, but shut up, Nii-san."
More chuckling.
"If you like her that much, why don't you just tell her?"
"W-What?! I don't like her! She's not attractive, she's annoying, and she's weak!"
With each word, you felt a knife repeatedly stab your heart. Not caring about anything anymore, you turned and ran away, tears freely flowing from your eyes.
"(f/n)!" Tenma shouted, but you were gone.
That was Friday afternoon.
You woke up feeling refreshed. And then, the events of the previous day came crashing onto your shoulders. Tears welled up in your eyes and you almost started crying again when you heard your phone ring.
"H-Hello?" you shakily answered.
"Hey, (f/n)-chan! What's wrong? You sound really upset!" You smiled. For some reason, your cousins always knew when you were sad.
"Hi, Mei-chan. It's nothing, really." You tried to reassure the elder girl.
"Ah, let go of me, Mie! Hold on, let me put the speaker on…" You giggled as she heard what sounded like her younger cousin jumping on Mei-chan.
"Hi, (f/n)-nee!"
"Yo, (f/n)!"
"Hi, Mie-chan, Mai-chan."
"Ne, (f/n)-nee, why do you sound upset? Someone like you shouldn't be upset! Your days should be filled with happiness and rainbows and unicorns and joy!" You stifled a laugh after hearing your optimistic and young cousin speak.
"It's just, some guy issues," you explained. Over the phone, you heard Mei-chan gasp, Mie-chan question her sisters about what 'guy issues' were and Mai-chan explain them to her.
"If you ever have any problems, just tell me and I'll beat that bastard up," Mai-chan offered. You hastily dissuaded her from marching across two towns just to punch Tsurugi.
"Mie, it's time for you to go to sleep," you hear Mei-chan drag Mie-chan away, leaving you with Mai-chan.
"I'm not good at stuff like this, but what's the issue, (f/n)?" You bit your lip. Should you…?
Before you knew it, you were crying as you related the day's events to your cousin. She was silent throughout your story, but spoke up once you were done.
"Well, my offer to beat the crap out of him still stands, but since you probably don't want me to do that, I'll try my best to advise you instead. From what I can tell, he's one of those 'weaklings don't matter' kind of person. So, prove to him that you aren't weak. Take your supposed weakness and shove it into his face. Make him hurt. As much as he hurt you. That's what I would do, anyways."
You paused. Mai-chan… Had a point.
"(f/n)? You okay?"
"A-ah, yeah, I'm fine. Thanks, Mai-chan."
"No problem, (f/n). If you ever need anything again, you're one phone call away from someone who can comfort you, someone who can cheer you up, and someone who's willing to chase your problems away. Literally, if I have to."
"Thanks again, Mai-chan. Bye bye!"
"Bye." And with that, your conversation ended. While you were grateful for their support, it was Mai-chan's advice that helped you.
You clenched your fist.
Tsurugi Kyousuke won't know what hit him.
The next day, you had headed to practice with Tenma as usual. You chatted with the others, and were pretty much your normal self.
Until a certain striker walked into the clubroom.
It wasn't just Tenma. Kirino and Shindou noticed the sudden shift in the atmosphere around you, too. Heck, even Hikaru felt a slight shiver run down his spine.
You looked up and glared at him, the dark aura around was still present.
"What do you want?" he asked, a bored expression on his face.
You plastered a sickeningly sweet and obviously fake smile onto your face.
"Oh, nothing, Tsurugi-kun! Nothing except to hear you scream in pain like your soul was being torn right out of your body!"
With that you skipped out of the room, leaving a shocked Tsurugi, a freaking-out Tena ("(F/N) HAS SNAPPED AND GONE CRAZY!"), at least two unconscious bodies ("Uh, Shinsuke? Hikaru? You two alright?") and a soccer club thrown into chaos.
But you didn't care.
All you wanted, was for Tsurugi to hurt. Like he's never felt pain before.
That's not the least bit crazy, is it?
And done! I made this one quite long because I had latched onto the plot bunny and refused to let go. So, there's gonna be a part 2! I'm sorry, I always write Yuuichi as chuckling whenever he appears! He just seems like the type of person who chuckles! Oh gosh, when I reread this, I realised that if you remove certain areas and do some minor editing, I've got a Tenma X Reader or a Yuuichi X Reader instead of a Tsurugi X Reader. And OOC Tenma rules!
The reader's cousins were called Mei-chan, Mai-chan and Mie-chan. They're actually referring to three of my OCs, Okubo Meiko, Maiko and Mieko.
Little recommendation here: If you haven't seen it, watch the Let It Go Multilanguage MEP by RiseandShineStudio on YouTube. It's awesome and I love it!
Thanks for reading!
